  1. WTF is that with a punt vs FG? Stupidest waste of a timeout. Made more sense to use one to cool things off when we were getting penalties on every play.
  2. We haven't traded next year's yet but there's still time. Could be sending it to overpay some player.
  3. I wouldn't rule out if we are somewhat sellers at the trading block. Some players which may have some "upside" don't seem to be as useful as some late picks.
  4. In the end we might be well situated to find a decent DE in 1st. Seems like early teens.
  5. Fast LBs that can hit well are the key IMO. That's what kept Seattle defense so nasty over the years and seems to be working wherever utilized.
  6. Based on his coverage and tackling skills I wouldn't mind him staying at OLB but obviously it doesn't bring in as much money next offseason.
  7. At 31 a solid season could land him a nice deal to end his career and he will likely have his choice of the contenders to pick from. Also as things currently stand we don't really look like a path to an easy ring so the eventual money (this year or next) may be the deciding factor. I don't know if he was considered an OLB or a DE here.
  8. Let's see when Smith comes back as a QB coach.
  9. We sure had our share of elite players that couldn't even sniff a SB ring
  10. Never thought I would say this but offense was the worse side of the ball IMO. Great to see the team regrouping after so many turnovers but we can't have so stupid plays down the line. Better teams will punish those as they have been doing for quite a while. Never understood how a player can fumble with light tackling in the open field and thinking of the YAC before securing the catch is a rookie mistake. The defense seems to have found some resemblance of an identity which is promising going forward but obviously the opponent is an important factor. I think we go on to have a decent winning record rest of the way, can't speculate how that translates to the playoffs but our depth is much worse than I thought in the preseason, so health is critical IMO.
  11. Veach is not a star but he's not garbage either. I think he's an average GM that wouldn't have won a SB without Mahomes in such a short tenure but his long term capabilities are to be seen. He seems to focus too much on future potential than initial talent in most drafts but that could be something he inherited from Dorsey. I don't think he has the positional priorities all figured out but that's generally a thing about the whole front office as they need to come together to define specific needs. I'm not sure if he's his own man as much as a guy doing Reid's bidding but that's up to Hunt to figure out. Overall I think this year's draft showed some awareness about positional needs and next year will probably a good time to see what he's actually capable of. It's not really fair to judge a GM based on his early drafts considering that he had some nice additions later on.
  12. I mean the defense, should may be state it explicitly Defense is already non-existent so the worst case scenario is the opponent takes one less play to score a TD which isn't a risk.
  13. I understand him not wanting to throw Dan under the bus but can't really hang on to him as a starter to make a point. Dan has always been backup at best and tolerable in small doses but besides the occasional big play he has been a liability with added workload.
  14. We need to have something to lose for anything to be considered a risk. Spags basically has all the freedom in the world to try whatever he wants.
  15. Agree completely. Dirty Dan is doing what he has been doing throughout his career. If it's an occasional bad game the coaches would get a pass but keeping Dan on the field after so much consistent sucking is entirely on Spags & Reid.
  16. Our biggest opponent is still the turnovers, lost 2 games for basically the fun of it. Once they are under control this is still a great offense. I don't think we'll miss out on the playoffs but this defense sure can't stop anyone in the playoffs. May be one win and we are out but could never know as some coaching decisions might do wonders.
  17. Any late pick we give up should be conditional unless we package it with Dirty Dan.
  18. They simply focused on a single aspect and succeeded. When you are the team to beat and only give away one area that the opposition needs to focus on they are going to find a way to beat you. Allen had some great throws but even without those Bills were the more complete team.
  19. Offense seemed to get no rhythm going and Bills sort of played with the offensive attitude we used to employ. It felt like watching the playoff games with Smith in town. Reid needs to get back to the old school running game and see if we can salvage few things, the game plan was too predictable. I'm pretty sure nobody can argue against the consistency of this defense. Literally no surprises as they keep coming up and doing the same thing over and over.
  20. Couldn't have used a better terminology.
