  1. I guess he's penciled in as the swing tackle for now.
  2. Now that's a nice surprise, let's see what he's capable of. Wouldn't mind him lining up against Jones.
  3. I was way off until I saw this one. A pass break up shouldn't have an abbreviation!
  4. There's no harm in rotating Jones at DE but I don't think it relates to Houston situation. We already have need at DE and Houston is a known commodity that's proven at pretty much all aspects of the position.
  5. Obviously just speculation but wearing the helmet kind of says that he's just up for coming to KC as long as the staff wants him here. Don't know if it was an issue triggered by Houston in which case the staff could be waiting for an apology but otherwise I don't think there seems to be an issues on Houston's side.
  6. Even if guys like Taco end up being solid at DE Houston would be a decent backup which we'll need throughout the season. Right now our top 2 options are a guy who'll probably avoid jail but get suspended for quite a bit and a DT that'll line up outside. The rest are all unknowns and we have some cap space to play with as well.
  7. Definitely, pretty much every no-name WR we brought in over the years has been the next Victor Cruz and most of them didn't even make the final cut. Based on the reports ever since the draft Smith is already a steal as he was a prime talent that teams ignored due to health. I'm optimistic about Noah as not only the reports look good but they seem to be giving him quite a bit emphasis at camp. Obviously we'll need to see them actually earn spots and perform before labeling them anything.
  8. Either him or Henne so I'm guessing he just did that and doesn't look like a 5-yard trick play
  9. Still don't know why he's not already in KC. Unless there was bad blood he should come back cheap for the ring and we definitely need him.
  10. Even though I want Niang to be a starter somewhere it's all about the best 5 protecting the best one in the NFL. I don't know where Niang is at his progression but they could be considering him as a future starter after he has a real rookie season. Coming back from an injury for any big guy is a hassle and he still needs to learn how to play in the NFL.
  11. LDT has been away from football for about 1.5 years, they might want to see him get back to football speed. Hopefully Smith is the real deal as he was considered a solid prospect with just health concerns but even if he's the insurance policy getting him more reps will likely be more valuable. Besides a lot could change as the camp goes on.
  12. I don't see that trade happening straight up. Chiefs would have to add a pick or two to the mix and I'm not even sure if Cardinals actually want someone else in the process.
  13. Not sure if it was the defense. Peters started up strong but then drifted away, whatever was bothering him to be an idiot probably kept going for a while with the Rams but may have gotten his head a bit more straight later on.
  14. Definitely the best part of his career but only a 4-game stretch doesn't really contradict the point. Not sure if he won anything with his arm during the regular season, if I remember correctly he was as wild as it gets with a bunch of turnovers and low ratings.
  15. Reminds me of our time with Smith. Always available and almost never lost a game. He didn't win any games with his arm when needed the most but always carried the team as long as the supporting staff was decent. Hanging on to such QBs makes sense as long as there's nothing better but at some point the fans will start mumbling about a real franchise QB that can carry the team as the cost will not justify the existing production.
  16. Agree with the first 2, both were clear wins. In case of Clark it's still the premise of SB justifying everything. Personally I don't consider that a good trade keeping in mind the huge contract we gave Clark but as long as a player contributes on the path to SB we can't really complain much as long as the premise is considered a fact.
  17. I thought they simply retired the horse due to age. A new one, assuming they keep the tradition, should come with a new name to respect Warpaint.
  18. With the way schedule is lined up I'm expecting 5 wins in the division. If Broncos had a decent team I would write the 17th week off as a loss but other than that the rest seems to be well placed for wins.
  19. To be honest I think he showed a lot of respect for AFC West. I wouldn't be surprised if Chargers actually do better than the Raiders but I don't see the Chiefs winning the division by just a single game as long as Mahomes is healthy. Last year Chiefs regressed all over as guys like Ogbah and Ragland haven't been replaced and no real contributor has been added. Even in that scenario the outcome was the SB, with more of a real offseason and major fixes to the worst position group in OL I think it's reasonable to be optimistic about the Chiefs right now.
  20. Even though the timing seems right for a new deal for HB, I won't hold my breath as he was a bit skeptical about the Chiefs' figures early in the offseason. That being said his huge cap hit for 2021 might actually allow us to frontload a big chunk since there's no need for extra cash at this point.
  21. I don't really see a difference between Okafor and Ingram in terms of impact so both guys are similar signings IMO. Okafor knows the system which could be seen as a plus and I'm more hopeful about Taco or Danna getting much more snaps this year. There's also the likely suspension for Clark which means a dire need for a stopgap early on.
  22. I've been to Arrowhead in December and suffered some "cool" weather. It would definitely be helpful to have a roof covering the stadium for comfort but I've always considered the weather to be an integral part of football and wouldn't mind suffering a little as a fan. I know it's harder on the players and they would benefit a lot but it's sort of against the idea of the sport IMO.
  23. That's the likely scenario. Since it's not his first time I'm guessing 6 games going down to 4. Should lead to something around 5 million cap savings for the rollover to 2022 as well but we'll have some major DE need in the short term. I'm wondering if we can actually utilize that money as early as this offseason once he gets the suspension.
  24. I don't see any other team posing a challenge besides the Bills. If I had to make a ranking Titans could be a sleeper for #2 but the rest isn't getting any better.
  25. Pretty much any depth receiver would play their best games when the starters are out. However neither had a "best game" that inspires confidence. WR might have been the least important need to start the offseason, and still may not be as important as DE, but once most holes were fixed I think we are at a position to upgrade if possible.
