  1. I don't think the skepticism about Long is based on talent, he has been a pro-bowl caliber player when healthy but the skepticism comes about the injuries as he hasn't been healthy for a season in quite a while. I believe a healthy Long will be our starter but the "healthy" part will always be a concern for him.
  2. In short we won't be getting rid of Wylie anytime soon, hope LDT or Smith is ready to start this year.
  3. I don't think the system is complex for DBs or may be Spags adjusts is really well. HB and Breeland were established starters in the NFL but both outperformed their previous careers in KC, Thornhill was a late 2nd pick that started from day one which isn't a surprise but other than these 3 we had a bunch of UDFAs or late picks that started or contributed as rookies. IMO so much instant production wouldn't come without simplicity. It could all be good talent evaluation or targeting the right guys but we had quite a bit of jackpots in the secondary for the system to be complex. Not sure about the front 7 though.
  4. LDT gets paid regardless and after the disaster of 2020 they will likely ask him to stick around this year at least until the TC. I think he's a very good candidate to retire after TC and "decide" to return to the NFL during the season if needed assuming we actually have decent depth at OG. The more realistic scenario is that he'll be backing up Long before becoming a full time doctor in 2022 showing off 2 SB rings in the hospital.
  5. Started as a beast but the timing of the injury really screwed his sophomore season. With a full offseason of healthy training I think he bounces back to his pre-injury form soon and improve on that in 2021. I don't think he'll move elsewhere, no need to disrupt a solid presence in a position where the next man up is Sorensen.
  6. Nothing solid for sure but looks like Rodgers doesn't want to be back at all and some GM will probably go crazy towards the TC and give up a big haul for him. Rodgers coming back would probably the best for NFC as they don't seem to have anything worthy of a story.
  7. With a decent run and jump before throw Mahomes could probably throw to the Kauffman from Arrowhead.
  8. With Brees gone and Rodgers likely leaving for the AFC there's a very good chance that NFC will be a joke in 2021 so they could make it back to the SB but if we make it as well something like the first game of 2020 is more probable than the SB outcome.
  9. Clark hasn't lived up to his contract but still serviceable and unless there's a major cap problem I expect him to stay for another year while our early round DE pick rotates. Obviously it all depends on what our DEs like the rookie or Taco end up doing this year but needs in other positions might be bigger than replacing Clark and that includes the 2nd DE playing on the other side.
  10. I'm not really sure if Reed will be worth the contract he wants at 30. There's a very good chance that both Reed and Nnadi will leave after 2021.
  11. He's 29 and already has a ring, I don't think he cares about anything other than money at this point since he never really got paid.
  12. I wouldn't care about what Julio wants either. The guy has a contract he doesn't want to honor, why should a team take less to make him happy? In certain situations the teams tend to take player's wishes into consideration but there's a limit to how much of a role that actually plays.
  13. There's talent at LB assuming Gay can play and I'm really high on Bolton from the reports. We'll likely have 3 solid LBs this year and most of the time we use 2 at the same time. At CB we have talented youngsters but besides Sneed and Fenton I'm not really sold on the rest as solid players. Breeland has been an idiot but he has been trustworthy whenever on the field. Ward and Baker are question marks and we don't really have enough sample size for BoPete.
  14. Definitely a concern. Not sure where his family lives but going back and forth will definitely be tough.
  15. No doubt, I think Mahomes is the only reason we have Dieter still around. However I'm also fed up with the annual great reports about our young WRs showing up great at OTAs. There's also the no-name WR that we'll hear about in about a week that blows everyone's mind and gets cut by TC.
  16. Normally he wouldn't get as many snaps as the newcomers but with a year off and not participating in the OTAs he's likely a backup this year unless he retires. Also from the Chiefs video Long looks like he came back to be the starter.
  17. I'm not worried about LB as much as CB. I don't like Hitchens but that's primarily because he never lived up to his contract, still he's a serviceable player. Gay looked great in quite a few plays last year but never earned a spot for whatever reason. Bolton looks like a beast in his college tape. Overall I think we have 3 guys that could form up a solid group with a full offseason of working together. We still need some guys to come in as rotational pieces but at least there's starting level talent at LB.
  18. Chiefs have been doing some really good videos lately, the social media team is for real. Still my favorite is the schedule announcement with Reid
  19. At this age he should be happy to collect whatever his current contract entitles. Historically he has been a durable guy, playing through various injuries but he started to miss time and the production will be going down with age. May be he wants the same amount all guaranteed but regardless he's likely raising red flags for GMs.
  20. Nnadi always seemed solid but didn't know he was ranked so high and this is a contract year for him so could get even better.
  21. First of all you can't prove that I have used any weed in whatever dumb state still bans it, can't speak for the rest. I don't think any GM cares about weed anymore. Breeland had some substance abuse sentence from the NFL in the past but pretty sure it was just for weed as well. However Breeland got a jail sentence that he was spared from due to drunk driving, resisting arrest, etc and a couple more things.
  22. Definitely a solid player when on the field. However the legal issues seem like the biggest obstacle between him and a long term deal. Already has substance issues as seen last year and even had a jail sentence. If he can stay clean for a couple years or so may be he gets a decent deal but will probably be too old by then.
  23. I think the issues is his WR ranking after this year. I don't doubt most people would think Julio is a solid WR for 2021 but his contract has 2 more years with a decent amount of money. If he's not worth his remaining contract the trade would be a 1-year rental lowering the value, if he's actually worth keeping for all 3 then his contract shouldn't even be a discussion.
  24. No team would be giving up a pick to let him go after a year. So they would basically be in for the long haul but I think a similar production can be had for cheaper with a younger player.
