  1. I think the Speaks experiment got everyone a bit tipsy about Niang. I'm worried myself but would prefer to see what happens during TC. However Veach should be keeping in touch with Schwartz just in case.
  2. Humphrey looks nastier than our usual linemen but definitely seems overlooked by the media guys.
  3. I don't really have high expectations from him either, if he can bounce back that's great but as things currently stand he's definitely not the answer for 2021 or beyond.
  4. The primary issue that I see with Breeland is the risk of long term investment due to the off-field stuff. However he always makes a lot of sense to sign these 1-year deals. I'm sure he didn't want to sign a short term deal without knowing which team needs what but since the draft is over I think Veach should be in touch with him right now. I liked Ward in his first season but he definitely regressed last year, I would love him to bounce back and become a shutdown corner for the future but I wouldn't trust him unless he proves otherwise. Definitely a solid backup option though.
  5. It sure applies to quite a bit as they are still going on but I'm not sure if either night gets people as fired up as Sunday. There's always the hassle of worrying about the next day when watching Monday or Thursday games which take away quite a bit of people away from the TV
  6. NFL seems to have the notion that people just want to see any game as long as there's one available. I don't remember the last TNF or MNF game I've watched without the Chiefs playing. Not even sure if people have the time to spare on a weekday for a game that provides no excitement for them. However it's always nice to have a game on, even if in the background, on a Sunday afternoon.
  7. Too many injuries to actually matter. I think the youngsters are already set as starters but if he can stay healthy we could have some decent depth.
  8. MNF is only worth watching if there's some hatred towards the opponent. Otherwise it's just a less stupid version of Thursday games.
  9. Only 7 noon games and so it's called GEHA Field at Arrowhead. We start 15-0 and lose at least one with all the roster moves for the rest.
  10. It might be some sort of a test for the OL as their first real game but I don't think the Browns in general will cause any issues.
  11. That's 9 million to likely sit out a decent portion of the season.
  12. Is it really a scheme if you do it like 5-10 times a game? The situational need for specific plays (short-yardage, etc) already define most of our run plays, not sure if the new scheme will have an impact unless we utilize the run much more.
  13. Might not even want the 200 bucks, he's just killing for the love of the game.
  14. I liked the Watkins signing from day one. We didn't get our money's worth no doubt but with a rookie QB coming in they got a player who would help him progress rather fast. That was a critical move IMO and rookie WRs seem to waste a lot of time getting up to speed in this offense, so basically a need. I like the pursuit of JuJu as well, would be better if they offered a long term deal to sweeten the pot. I think this offseason was focused on making sure that Mahomes doesn't become the next Luck, I expect the next one to focus on making sure he doesn't become the next Rodgers and the rest will probably a decent progression of line & receivers over time.
  15. If there were no OT injuries the draft as it turned out would be enough to take care of the OL needs, so there would be a lot of flexibility for the 1st. Not sure how much Chiefs values the DEs available but the position itself definitely would have been a bigger need than it was under the current scenario. I still think a veteran will come in as there's some cap space to play with and some veterans that would love to chase a ring. Houston is my favorite but the lack of movement on that front probably shows that there's some bad blood.
  16. Might be a very smart move for Westbrook, no better way to revive your career with Mahomes at QB.
  17. Used to be a beast in his prime, forgot that he didn't retire already
  18. 1-year deal with a decent amount, I guess it's that time of his career. Let's see if he can make it back for 2021.
  19. It was stated as a possibility by someone in the organization after the Reed signing, not sure who it was though. Frankly I would expect Wharton experiment at DE at some point but he's doing a solid job already playing inside.
  20. In obvious passing downs we'll likely see Jones or Wharton line up at DE but not sure what they are thinking for the base formation. I'm expecting someone like Houston signed for the position but wouldn't be surprised if they roll with the youngsters on the roster for a year.
  21. No doubt about it, Creed needs to show that he can handle the snaps before getting the nod. Mistakes by snappers tend to cost quite a bit. Blythe may be limited but he's a known commodity whereas any rookie is a question mark until they see the TC.
  22. Sucks to see D-Rob as a starter but that OL rotation is really awesome I don't think they go with Blythe as the starter unless there's an issue with Creed's progression. Since neither OC has familiarity with Mahomes they both need to adjust to him which means Blythe probably has no edge over Creed right now. I don't expect LDT to leave unless he wants to hang it up. Doesn't save any money to get rid of him and with so many injuries last year they will want him around as a veteran presence who has been much better than what we had last year. He'll be gone after this season though. Long was a much better player back in the day so I think he might be the starter from day one. Wylie or Allegretti is more likely to leave in favor of Smith and Wylie is already extended for just this year.
  23. I like the east coast noon game followed by the west coast noon, which is generally Chiefs followed by Seahawks in my case. However I only enjoy going to the stadium for noon games as any other option generally takes away the entire day.
  24. If you ask me every football game should start at noon and should be played only on Sunday. I understand the need for prime time games due to the financial implications but still hate them. Even the SB should be played at noon IMO.
  25. I'm thinking Browns, Bills, Ravens are set in stone as prime time unless any of them is later in the season. Cowboys and Packers are also very likely to be prime time but Packers are subject to Rodgers situation. Overall I'm thinking 5 but wouldn't be surprised if it's closer to 10 than 5 once the schedule is announced.
