  1. "It pains me to admit this..." probably the dumbest way to start a sentence by anyone claiming to be a pundit.
  2. Just make sure he doesn't practice with D-Rob. Those are some promising numbers, might end up being a huge steal. Seems like a better #2 than we had in forever.
  3. 3 guys who aren't even on the roster get a C and Mahomes gets a B+ and that's primarily due to his attitude Kpass is obviously a steal as he got an A and Hunt is basically on the same wagon. You got to love the draft grades
  4. That means sucking 99% of any game with a single great play in the mix. Nieman is missing one thing from that equation 🙄
  5. The thing with Brown is the position. Consistently picking towards the end of the 1st means losing out on at least a year of rookie cap for a decent LT. The 5th year option is over 10 million which is basically higher than the first year of any long term deal. By getting a cheap contract for a year we only lose out 2 years of a rookie deal with Brown. I think that's a very good trade-off to get a proven player instead of a rookie gamble. In terms of the contract the 2 years isn't even a big deal for the second most important position once there's a franchise QB in town.
  6. First of all football or not I hope he keeps healthy, that's the primary concern. Regarding his status as a Chief the staff will probably take a detailed look at him and keep him on a short leash throughout his career, however long it may be. If his health is no concern then it's great value with almost no risk.
  7. Veach has been thriving with player swaps and getting late rounders for odd guys out. I'm expecting at least conditional picks or may be overlooked youngsters coming in during the TC.
  8. If that happens we probably won't have to worry about the OL for at least the next 3 years assuming Brown is extended and it could go even further with such a young group. The first guy that would be replaced is Thuney who could easily play out his contract.
  9. I wonder if that was the initial plan or if he messed something up leading to that situation 🤔
  10. I was expecting more from Clark but regardless he was a major contributor in the SB run, that justifies the move completely. I also like the Brown trade, need to keep Mahomes safe and as the draft turned out we definitely didn't have a shot at getting a decent starter in 1st. Obviously time will tell about Brown but I think Veach's primary weakness is whenever he moves up in 2nd.
  11. Fielding just 10 men would be enough to replace his production so no worries there. At this point I think the whole thing would be about how much of an upgrade we are hoping to get.
  12. Veach's only role in Mahomes pick is the input, shows great scouting ability in terms of QB. However it was a Dorsey pick as well as being scouted by Dorsey's staff. I agree that Veach has been terrible in trades earlier in the draft, he probably should stay away from those but he seems to be doing much better when giving up just late or future + late picks. Regardless giving up multiple picks later in the draft isn't that critical and shouldn't really dictate a GM's success so at least in my opinion Veach is fine in this draft.
  13. All teams are talking about fans in the TC, which gives me hope about the rookie minicamp going on as usual but still scared of the NFL messing it up due to the pandemic. With 2 young linemen + 1 LB likely to start and 2 receivers expected to contribute from day one this should be a really interesting rookie camp.
  14. Mahomes behind a wall of a line will make even Robinson and Hardman decent receivers right away.
  15. Well they need to keep those "experts" busy until the camp starts. Grades and such take about a week, and then they'll worry about some upcoming contracts.
  16. If Houston is looking for a ring I don't mind bringing him in for a year or two but I also have doubts about his willingness after being cut. May be it's not as bad as advertised but tough to guess.
  17. A veteran WR would benefit this team the most.
  18. Trading so much for a 1-year rental isn't very likely. I believe they have some kind of an agreement in place, even if it's just in principal. I like Smith but always thought Niang could move inside if he doesn't make it outside or the other way around with a guy like Forsythe. Overall I'm happy with the OL additions in the draft and the staff is the one that knows how Niang will end up.
  19. That's very likely in KC. I believe linemen will survive until the final cuts and that may be Wylie's only shot.
  20. The initial reports about any prospect is generally positive, I hope Gray is legit. A decent receiving TE would make the red zone extremely easy.
  21. I don't see Wylie as a viable alternative at any position. IMO Allegretti has been much better at OG. The tender is probably the only thing keeping Wylie in town but the good thing is it's not something the Chiefs can't get out of. I believe 12 linemen will make it in the end with PS spots included and if the PS is something like last year Wylie could stay in town as a veteran insurance policy. I would prefer to spend that effort in youngsters who may eventually mount to something though.
  22. Definite: Brown - Thuney - Creed - Blythe - Long - Niang - Remmers Very likely: LDT - Allegretti - Smith - Wylie Doubtful / PS: Durant - Williams - Wanogho - Rankin If there's special PS situation like last year I think we'll be carrying 12-13 linemen since there are a bunch of youngsters who could be useful at some point. I'm still skeptical about LDT's return as being a doctor may give him a change of heart but if he doesn't decide to retire he'll be back. It would be nice to bring in some help at other positions with some trades but our line sure isn't full of depth guys that would attract other teams.
  23. I wanted to grab him, some worries for sure but huge upside. Too bad he didn't last long enough.
  24. Probably the best for him and the Chiefs. Just focus him at RG for the entire year and see if he can develop to a starter.
  25. It's not easy to overtake a HOF LB like Nieman Hopefully we won't have the "mental" issues like Gay this time around, Bolton is a tackling machine that can keep up with pretty much anyone.
