  1. Just looked up at her Twitter account but couldn't find anything. May be she liked a tweet or something from someone else regarding a baby getting surgery?
  2. I like the option of trading down but it all comes down to what the real draft board looks like. Didn't hear much about Radunz and when I just looked him up the boards seem to be divided on him just like the post mentions. I don't know how this draft would be graded but in general walking away with an OT who mostly stayed away from tough competition in college and a late round OC doesn't look like the solution we need after that dismal SB performance. I like the Long pick though, looks like an ideal compliment to Kelce based on what's written.
  3. Makes a lot of sense but the whole news about Chiefs' offer being much better is somewhat weird as the only numbers I could find were 8 million with up to 3 in bonuses as opposed to 8 million straight up by the Steelers, which isn't really that better so I thought may be Chiefs actually offered something more or lengthy but couldn't find anything.
  4. I'm curious about the specific offer Chiefs made to JuJu. Seems like a perfect fit for any FA WR and leaving the chance to play for Mahomes in favor of another year of Big Ben seems really crazy in a league where a single play could end careers.
  5. The more I read about him the more I like Cosmi. He seems to be climbing the draft boards rather fast but obviously the experts rarely get the real value right. The fact that we reached for Fisher who would likely be a decent 2nd round pick in most drafts lead me to believe a veteran option will eventually come in to provide some flexibility. I still think our first pick should be a LT but it could be much better to do that by moving down a few spots and get some extra draft capital in the process. As things currently stand we are more likely to move up than down which is never ideal entering the draft.
  6. They sure want to and definitely should add a WR to the mix. However a veteran WR and a rookie WR are two very different things, not to mention in Reid's system where for some reason everyone is preaching about "a couple years to learn". It's not about the need for a WR, it's more about the priority based on other needs and the likely output. I think they will still try to go for a veteran WR in FA once the cuts start and we may see some ring chasing veterans even earlier than that. I'm still hoping for Fitzgerald but not holding my breath.
  7. Obviously the LT and then OC. In terms of receivers I value a second TE a lot more than a WR at this point. Whomever comes in will likely be #4 in targets (if not lower) and will have limited contribution assuming he is ready to go from day one. A second TE on the other hand will really open up the offense as there will be a legitimate option in the middle that defenses have to focus on besides Kelce. Might even render the opposing pass rush useless as there will be early targets to consider for Mahomes instead of running around for ages. Not to mention Kelce is already over 30 and there's really no option to replace him if needed. Both Hill and Hardman officially exceeded 500 passing yards as rookies but both had trick plays that count as passes to add to their numbers. Regardless I wouldn't consider 500 yards in 2021 worthy of a high pick with so many needs on offense. Also we can already get around that with the crap we have at WR already on the roster and most 2nd-3rd tier FAs could easily exceed that as long as Mahomes has time to look around.
  8. I would add the useless history of rookie WRs in this system for whatever reason. Whomever comes in spends a year or two at least before actually contributing in Reid's system and giving up a premium pick for literally a project player is just bad draft strategy. LT is an exceptional case due to how late we are picking but any other position is basically a decent starter or bust in the first 3 rounds IMO, especially for skill positions. If we have to wait on a WR to be useful in 2023 or something then 3rd day is the right time to draft one.
  9. Always new about the existence of turf toe but have no idea about the recovery process. Nevertheless Mahomes in a boot is kind of nervous for me as people keep talking about how the turf toe can linger for a while. Hopefully it's just a routine caution due to the surgery.
  10. If you thought a happy family photo wouldn't be scary, think again
  11. At some point the overall ratings will go down due to the meaningless watered down games. Until that point it's a "smart" move by the NFL at the expense of fans and likely the players.
  12. I agree about the stupidity, meaningless addition that will just lead to some injuries. However do the teams get an extra home game, I thought the additional game would be listed as home on paper for a team but it would actually be played outside the US?
  13. Hopefully someone else picks up Reiter before he decides to come back for another year or horror and misery.
  14. If they actually want to keep a FB around we won't be entering camp with just a single guy so either a draft pick comes in or may be an UDFA or another veteran. Either way Burton probably isn't a lock. I would imagine Toub has some say on the matter so may be his ST history could be an indicator.
  15. I don't think Okung would have a real impact on the draft, he would be a good option to start early in the year but with his health issues we can't really just call it bad luck if he goes down. Villanueva is more like the decent stopgap that can be somewhat trustworthy.
  16. I generally like Veach's performance in later rounds, it's the total lack of starters coming out of the drafts that frustrates me. IMO every team needs decent rotational guys coming in later in the draft but with so many misses early in the draft I think Veach needs to make that up with later picks. It's not necessarily a Veach issue either as it could just be lame scouting in the front office but obviously the GM is the one responsible. I like his performances with overlooked guys like Remmers or Ward that come out of nowhere to perform at an acceptable.
  17. Pretty much any player contributes but a draft pick being a hit is basically Thornhill or Sneed. Some guys simply end up being rotational pieces like Danna or Allegretti but I wouldn't count them as hits unless they become solid starters. We have had some trouble drafting those.
  18. Not sure about specific locations but isn't East Texas the opposite of retirement at this point with all the people flowing in?
  19. Could be, may not have been a huge one but proximity to family has always been a factor in the NFL.
  20. Don't know about his perspective but personally I think we should be getting instant production from guys drafted in the first two days. QB is always the exception and depending on the spot LT is never a sure thing but other than that the new style of NFL allows guys to come in and contribute early on. Veach has been drafting DBs very well and the coaching seems to be just great but I don't think Veach has any solid picks in another position group. Potential is always good but as long as there's no instant contribution we would simply be developing guys to contribute on other teams. Once Mahomes' contract actually kicks in we will need even more day one starters to balance the cap situation and the outlook isn't very bright so far. Also if the player doesn't realize the potential they were drafted for we end up with guys like Speaks, Kpass, Saunders, Hardman, etc. that don't mount to anything. I would be happier to pick up some guys that contribute from day one and leave after 4 years.
  21. I'm not sure how much they offered to keep him but probably wasn't high so he decided to try shining with Mahomes and hope for a decent FA deal in 2022.
  22. Peyton was always elite, he no longer had the arm strength but an elite QB doesn't always need an elite arm to win as he showed. The rest are basically exceptions which are always possible, when the rest of the team is great some QBs can win the SB but that doesn't change the generalization that you need an elite QB to win as that's the most likely scenario. Keep in mind that Garoppolo was very close to winning one in 2020 and Brady almost lost to the Washington QB nobody ever heard of on his way, etc. I think Flacco was another product of a solid team. He didn't throw interceptions because the team didn't have to rely on him to get out of some tough situations. He's still better than Cassel or Croyle but there were quite a few QBs that are much better than Flacco without a SB win. Realistically I would say Flacco is better than any past Chiefs QB of this millenium other than Green and may be Smith, but he's definitely not an elite QB. LJ is a weird case, he's a great athlete but not sure about him as a QB. Can't rely on his arm to dig a team out of a hole or even trust his athleticism against a solid defense when it really matters. He can win games as he has proven with a decent team around him but when he has to actually lead a team LJ seems to turn into Cassel. That being said I think he deserves to be the highest paid QB of all time, should get more than Mahomes.
  23. Liked Saunders as a rookie, looked like a prototypical guy that would be ready to take over in year 2 but he has been regressing ever since. I guess his frame couldn't handle the required shape they wanted from him. Could obviously bounce back but I doubt he can overtake Wharton so #5 DT is likely his role and probably leaves after his rookie deal.
  24. If Humphrey is there in 2nd I think he should be the pick and I wouldn't mind giving up one of our 5ths to move up a few spots to grab him. If we stay put Myers seems to be getting good recognition lately and both could start right away.
