  1. Definitely a great year to add an OT. In my opinion Sewell and Slater are the only obvious starters but won't be around. The only player I feel like the Chiefs would make a move is Darrisaw who is written down as a likely RT but could actually end up at LT and might start very early with his experience in the position. Otherwise I don't think there's much difference between LT prospects but it's all about the staff being high on a specific guy. I like the idea of having some flexibility with #31 as some really good prospects in various positions of need will fall due to the sheer amount of talent in the draft. Being forced to make a move for LT could lead to reaching for a guy or giving up multiple picks as we can't really afford having Mahomes spend offseasons with surgeries.
  2. What GM in the world wanted to sign Keizer, and more importantly why do we even want to stop him?
  3. Absolutely. I think a stopgap is much needed at this point. We are not in an ideal place to pick a day 1 starter.
  4. Always thought the love for Robinson was the big obstacle for Pringle. Not sure where they slot Hardman but wouldn't be surprised if the order is Hill - new WR - Pringle - Hardman. They could have leaned on Robinson due to issues with Pringle and we may have only seen him active in plays where he would shine but whenever he got the call he did better than the turd duo.
  5. Why not stop there, might as well give him QB money for the next decade. It's one thing to want to keep a great player, it's another thing to pay a guy huge money until he's 40.
  6. So they finally see the potential in Pringle. I'm pretty sure he'll start the season ahead of Hardman on the depth chart but not sure if we bring in another WR as #2.
  7. Not sure if it sucks. $22 million is too much for a 33-year old guy. With Thuney in town we could do with a guy like Reiff at LT until a draft pick is ready to take over. Hudson is a no brainer IMO, hopefully they take care of him tomorrow, a solid presence in the middle will upgrade the entire OL.
  8. I wouldn't mind Wylie sticking around as a pure IOL backup but he has no business starting and we already have two better OGs on the roster and that includes a LDT 1-year removed from NFL. There are young options around but they might be considering to send some of them packing and in some cases it takes a while before late round guys are ready to increase their role. Allegretti + Wylie + rookie OT as our primary backups wouldn't be a huge issue for me but I would prefer if they just let Wylie leave and bring in someone else with more upside. Wylie may just be the devil we know for 2021. Also depending on the PS this year they might be considering a higher number of linemen on the roster than the usual 8-10.
  9. We shouldn't be in the race if the figures are around $23M. No need to go to a bidding war at this point, just focus on the next best guy as a stopgap. Williams may be a great LT but he's 33 and shouldn't warrant as much money. I just hope Hudson doesn't slip through while we are trying to overpay Williams.
  10. He definitely deserved the praise. SB MVP is more of a joke IMO but overall an undrafted journeyman putting up a solid performance throughout the playoffs should get the praise.
  11. I can see one of the top ones falling to mid 1st and may be early 20s which could intrigue Veach to pull the trigger as a day 1 starter. Already seen him panic and pick up Hardman for multiple picks, could repeat that with a much more urgent need. However a stopgap FA makes a lot more sense as having our LTOTF as swing tackle for a year would only help with the immediate SB goal. I'm not a fan of giving up multiple picks (obviously excluding QBs) unless it's a 6th or 7th to move up a spot or two for a guy the staff considers to be a steal.
  12. Must have missed that one with all the FA frenzy Both Darryl and Taco are great keeps IMO.
  13. Made a lot of sense for him to sit out in 2020 but definitely will have some complications for his FA value. Still could get a decent contract after the 2019 campaign and I hope he gets it. I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to be released as well. The other Williams is RFA if I'm not mistaken, would love to keep him around as he showed some nice value in the postseason.
  14. Looking at how all CBs seem to overachieve in KC he could want to play for a cheap 1-year deal and I'm not sure if there's anything more for him in FA. A couple years could even be likely to prepare himself for a decent payday.
  15. Yep, get the BPA in a position of need regardless of the urgency. Could even get an extra second day pick since teams will know we would be open to shopping that pick. Draft would be a breeze with the Hudson & Reiff duo.
  16. Definitely reliable and a top 5 OC ever since he entered the league. I have to agree with the notion that he might be a better signing than Williams at $20 million. Could get future LT in the draft and sign a decent stopgap with the money left from Hudson.
  17. Definitely the best OC out there, at this age the money could be reasonable as well. Also the dumbest cap relief of 2021 so far unless there's something wrong with Hudson healthwise.
  18. Assuming we don't find a stopgap LT could and likely will cost multiple picks. Williams would simply save us 2 high picks this year while solidifying the left side of the line for at least the next 2 couple years. Not to mention a lot of FAs will want to come for cheap 1-year deals to chase a ring.
  19. Wylie showed his ceiling and that isn't much. If they think he can be a better backup OG than what's available out there then vet minimum should be what he gets from the Chiefs. I don't think there's any reason to take the risk of overpaying him, if some GM wants to make him a starter then let him have Wylie.
  20. I believe we are perfectly situated at this point with LT being the only question mark. 5th year option could make #31 really sexy for some GMs so a trade down is always a possibility but I would be perfectly fine staying put for our future LT assuming a stopgap can be found in FA. After that only day 1 starters should warrant multiple picks assuming they are really sold on the prospect, may be our OC for the next decade. There are enough picks to fix multiple positions and 2 starters for 2021 with 2-3 rotational/backup guys in the mix should be a decent draft.
  21. I think it's about the return as well. I don't think we get anything in return for Hitchens at this point. He was terrible and barely resembled a decent LB in 2020. No team would give up picks for him when the picks are more valuable than any other time of the year. If he wasn't restructured I think we would be better off getting rid of him this year but since we are stuck with most of his cap hit might as well hope he progresses a bit in 2021. Clark could net some return but definitely won't justify letting a guy of his talent leave. May be a 2nd and another pick in the mix but that huge contract will lower the price. His dead money will be reasonable after a June 1st designation in 2022 and he'll be 29 by then. So realistically this is somewhat of a contract year for him which could provide some motivation to bounce back and increase his value. We could try to move them in the short term but I would prefer the entire focus to be on the OL at this point and may be we can live with dismal performances from 2 expensive guys for another year.
  22. Chiefs already have the best insight on Schwartz's health and considering his tweet regarding the dismissal his departure may have been something both parties agreed on. I'm pretty sure the trainers and coaches will be working with Niang shortly, assuming they aren't already doing that, and if he's not ready to take over Schwartz might come back without really testing the FA if the surgery was successful.
  23. No need to mess with either Hitchens or Clark. They sure aren't living up to their contracts but cannot open any holes that need fixing with OL still an issue and secondary concerns like DB, TE, etc. I think we suffer another year of both after which their contracts would give more flexibility and there's always the possibility of both players bouncing back to a decent level. It's not like their performances are going to net any worthy draft capital.
  24. Williams would be even a bigger move right now, no way they would get through that left side of the line. Don't know about the finances but the FA seems to have started around the NFL with a bigger splash than I expected but they sure didn't let both tackles leave with just hopes and dreams for #31.
