  1. Not worried about Clark or Jones in this one. They have been relatively fresh all year long, time to earn that paycheck.
  2. So they actually allowed the barber cut hair before the test results came in. I'm pretty sure someone will get fired for this.
  3. Terrible to see this happen to anyone, let alone a great guy like Marty . Not that it matters a lot but I wouldn't mind the Chiefs making him an assistant something really soon and finally give him that ring if we win on Sunday.
  4. On paper this seems like an easy matchup. Spags has success against Brady historically and we have already beaten this team. However it's the SB so the precedence never gives enough confidence to me as a fan.
  5. Would love to see Kilgore out there instead of Reiter but I'm more worried about the OC's contact with Mahomes at this point. Hopefully they both test negative and we don't suffer any COVID setbacks.
  6. Not sure if the estimations were specific for Fisher's case but wasn't the info on him returning by the TC? That's basically when a veteran lineman starts practicing so I think the front-office still has a chance to make their own decision based on performance.
  7. The last time Chiefs had a rookie WR actually contribute was in 2016 with Hill and with all of his physical advantages he was about 4-5 huge plays away from being yet another mediocre rookie WR. It's still nice to pick up a WR but I wouldn't waste any high pick on one. The return will likely be questionable in the first year and bigger needs simply make it a worse choice IMO. TE on the other hand actually makes some sense. The most important thing about Kelce from a front-office standpoint is likely the fact that he had a micro fracture surgery which means he's closer to retirement due to a freak play than most other NFL players. So another TE who can be a decent #2 and may be take over after Kelce is probably a bigger need than a WR at this point. I would still prioritize OL over any talent position. As seen with Colts & Luck, teams with franchise QBs cannot wait to invest in the OL as it may always be too late. Chiefs needs to eliminate the need to put Mahomes in risk for short yardage situations as well as find a way to give him a clean pocket as much as possible. However in terms of skill positions I would put TE way ahead of WR. With enough time Mahomes will make any NFL player a decent receiver and we'll have veterans coming in for much lower than their worth just to play with Mahomes.
  8. Throughout the season I thought he would finally get his shot in the playoffs and finally convince the coaches he's for real. Hopefully he bounces back 100%.
  9. 1-year rental FAs chasing a ring seems like our best bet for quality veterans in 2021.
  10. I wasn't surprised to see EB passed over last year as a single season is rarely enough to be seen as a solid HC candidate but I was expecting him to get a job this time around. I guess teams are no longer buying into the idea of Reid OCs as they have relatively less influence. Would be awesome to promote Kafka and grab a couple picks in the process but we may end up getting the short end of the stick with Kafka leaving for an OC gig.
  11. Always thought red on red looked nasty but they seem to prefer red on white. Worked last year so no reason to change but the defense could use the boost.
  12. Mahomes is so good he can actually focus on making plays to raise the morale of a single player.
  13. Nobody in the history of the NFL ever had to protect a half billion investment. So there's really no precedent to the situation Chiefs are in. After the Browns game I'm not even sure how much of a leash Hunt is giving to Reid or Veach.
  14. I was a bit scared after his slow start post-injury as not all players can come back at a solid level but looks like he's simply getting better by the week.
  15. Shouldn't have Ford's name thrown out in such a topic, nowhere near the same class with these guys. This season Clark basically showed up in big games but hopefully he'll do that consistently in 2021 after wrecking havoc in the SB.
  16. What's the point of drafting a WR that won't do anything for a few years. Just pile up on raw physical talent that goes undrafted or on the 3rd day of the draft.
  17. HB is simply one of those guys that makes people around him much better. He definitely deserves every penny and hasn't been an occasional performer unlike our trench guys.
  18. Chiefs invested a lot in position coaches and looks like it's paying off. Not sure if Breeland makes the big money this year with all the cap issues but should definitely warrant a long term deal with his performance after the suspension.
  19. Couldn't find it but there was a nice piece on why players like Michael Bennett at Seattle are the ones to target in FA. Tying up a lot of money on a single guy doesn't always make everyone else around him much better, instead in a lot of cases it simply takes away the ability to find a decent compliment to the star. I think Clark was a beast last year and if he can get back to that he'll be awesome but regardless having multiple players perform at Ogbah level would be much better IMO. The same goes for pretty much everyone on defense as rotation is much more critical than offense.
  20. Reiter and Wylie should be gone for good. Other than that we have a whole bunch of prospects but none of them have proven to be starters at any level. Niang may be the top OL prospect we have on the roster and we don't even know where/if he'll be playing. The big issue for us is that a lot of teams have cap problems so a lot of veterans will opt to go for the 1-year vet minimum deal that pays them 3-4 times that number similar to what Robinson is getting from the Chiefs. So I don't see us signing any decent FAs unless someone is chasing a ring or a big payday after showcasing some skills, which limits the chances of good stopgaps. We need to hit the jackpot more than once in this draft and find some hidden gems in FA.
  21. I would take those two off that list. Mahomes is on another level of his own, 15-year veteran instincts and poise in a 25-year old body. Regarding the other one LJ8 isn't elite, not even sure if he's at least a decent QB.
  22. You have to keep Pringle's blocking ability in mind as well. He's a tougher guy out in the open field. Solid receiver as well but obviously not at Watkins' level against top CBs, still availability is more critical than hopes and dreams. I think the biggest issue Pringle faced this year was the love for Robinson getting him the snaps over anyone else. Pringle really had the extended workload a couple times in his career and did really well in those situations but obviously SB is a different beast.
  23. If healthy Schwartz is the better OT and we already needed to replace one for cap savings. Can't really cut Fisher when injured so injury settlement seems like the best way to go with him, same thing but better wording.
  24. Gay would be a huge upgrade if he gets on the field so hopefully he returns. Sneed is obviously very critical. I don't care about the rest that much, the healthier we are the better but I prefer to focus my entire hope capabilities on the two guys that are difference makers on the field.
