  1. Not sure since D-Hop would warrant picks whereas OBJ would likely demand an incentive-laden contract. Obviously it's all pointless until we really know what it would take but while looking from outside I don't like the idea of spending prime picks on a non-OL position at this point. I would rather give up that rumored second day pick for D-Hop to move up and grab our LT for the next decade. As a pure player I wouldn't even compare the two, D-Hop is much better in pretty much every single area.
  2. Also considering that QB will be on the rookie deal for the next 5 years it only makes sense to keep Tunsil and make him the highest paid LT as they can afford it.
  3. I'm pretty sure Veach is contemplating a trade up but even early 20s would take too much of an ammo. I doubt we go higher than mid 20s giving up a 2nd day pick. The fact that they let OBJ leave gives me hope regarding both the scouting and the expected availability of some starter OT prospects even if we stay put.
  4. Already made quite a nice amount. May be looking for that ring before retirement and still a useful receiver within a committee.
  5. The worst case scenario is a cheap camp body.
  6. The formula may be the greatest mystery in the NFL. I remember Broncos signing a whole bunch of high priced FAs while getting decent picks in the process for whatever reason. I'm assuming our lack of cap space will lead to a more modest FA shopping and if all OBJ, Wylie, and Hardman can land decent deals (and may be Juju) we should likely be in a very positive situation.
  7. Lack of a tag already means there's not enough interest in trading for OBJ and making him one of the highest paid LTs in football. May be someone bites without the trade but even that will not be easy as his market value may be lower than what Chiefs offered last year. I guess we'll learn in a few days but the only thing going for OBJ is the lack of alternatives in FA. In our case the lack of a headache means just getting a 3rd in the process which is not that bad of a compensation. Consistently having extra picks in the draft is only going to help us build stronger by the year.
  8. So many picks will definitely mean some trades. Good ammo for the offseason.
  9. His demands last year while not being the #1 option were quite high so as the #1 guy I'm guessing he'll want the world.
  10. He played well at the big stage, that definitely counts for something.
  11. Don't see a major trade up as an option. We have some ammo but I don't think it'll make sense to move up anything more than a few spots. I'm pretty sure the staff either has an under-the-radar prospect in mind or some guy the experts rank high is actually not that high on most boards.
  12. Yep, at this point it probably doesn't make sense for him to go for a multi-year deal without seeing what's out there. He won't be tagged and I'm not sure if he's loyal to the city already.
  13. So the talk is that they want to keep Juju around, likely a multi-year deal after the tampering period but not sure if someone will make him rich in FA before we get a chance. I would assume OBJ was the higher priority but looks like the economics are in play.
  14. Also successful careers lead to better post-retirement income. It's much easier for QBs but a guy like Kelce could end up being a well paid pundit showcasing his multiple rings.
  15. If we are giving up picks it sure wouldn't be for a WR. Unless it's a veteran LT any picks we trade away will be used to move up for a specific LT target. Hopefully we can find some stopgaps and not worry about giving up multiple picks in the draft.
  16. With RG already set I thought the only options for him were RT and backup RG. Did they try him on the left side last year?
  17. I agree with the most part. For the last sentence I don't think he was worth the contract but the contract itself was within the boundaries of trial and error. I wouldn't rank it the worst, or not even consider such but overall a bad trade that didn't work out as bad as quite a few that come to mind.
  18. I would imagine most of it. Agents know much more than the players and they set the market. Most players are just happy to listen to their agents who manage a lot more than just the top players and "know better".
  19. I think both could end up coming back. They probably wanted to test the market so let them, it just lowers the cost for us if there are no buyers. If there's someone willing to give up big bucks for them we'll just move on for good.
  20. They probably really liked some guy at the combine and think he'll last until #31. OBJ was decent in general but not really worth the money so a good idea to move on but didn't expect him to be gone as early as this year without a trade. I would imagine they tag him and let the youngster develop for a year but I guess they don't even see OBJ worth that much.
  21. Seems to be an active process so I believe we'll hear a lot more by the draft. I'm guessing the police report will determine his future in the NFL.
  22. If there's a buyer willing to give up a mid round pick or a player that the staff likes just send him packing. Otherwise I don't think we get any cap relief from his rookie deal so he'll end up being a backup for 2023 unless they want to create a roster spot for another guy.
  23. Even if it was a position of need I don't see this regime going for a trade like this considering we that the secondary coaching has been great.
