  1. I have to agree we haven't been doing a good job of developing linemen. Anyone we draft basically stays at a similar level for their entire career and almost every season some street FA comes in as an upgrade to whatever we have on the roster. #1 overall pick was probably the only one we have seen noticeable development and that shouldn't really be a surprise.
  2. Our only good TE will be 32 next year, deserves a spot in that list.
  3. CEH isn't really setting the world on fire, only 3 games with decent yards per carry. He'll get better as he's still just a rookie but a change of pace is definitely needed with an OL like this.
  4. I think Wharton won the job, doesn't look anything like a rookie out there.
  5. 3-4 yard plays ended up going for much longer, if we actually knew how to tackle this would have been an easy game.
  6. Two 30+ OTs and a swiss chesse of an interior line is much more worrisome than a WR at this point. There's a very good chance that Watkins will be back for dirt cheap and if not FA WRs will be killing each other to play with Mahomes. Since it takes about a decade to get WRs up to speed in Reid's system it's always a good idea to get one with a late 2nd day pick or an early 3rd day pick but any 1sts and possibly 2nds should be spent on OL and LB at this point.
  7. It's all up to how Spags and Veach value him really. The only immediate benefit is adding a decent college prospect to the roster but there's also the fact that he seems to have been disappointing as a rookie according to the news (never watched him though).
  8. If he plays just a little and they like him he could come back on a cheap deal. Otherwise a multi-year deal needs two parties to be on board. Not sure if Baker is looking for a cheap deal if he performs.
  9. If you are referring to the initial deal I'm not sure how it turns out as he was on a rookie deal which we may be taking over if he was waived. Otherwise I would imagine a 1-year deal to prove his worth if he wants to stick around.
  10. Not sure what it is worth as these things aren't set in stone but here's the updated depth chart by the Chiefs: https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/lists/kansas-city-chiefs-updated-depth-chart-week-11/ Kilgore seems to have taken over at OC. Would love to see Wylie out at RG but at least the weakest link is relegated to a backup. Obviously this doesn't mean Reiter won't start.
  11. NFL can punish a player due to its own rules but that won't really be a case if there are no charges against him. If it was something like weed possession, etc which is legal in some states but forbidden by the NFL we would see some punishment but in Baker's case it should be a non-investigation by the NFL.
  12. Didn't check the timespan, thought it was this year. Still Cardinals should be away from the last place with over 1.5 years of Murray, Rosen/Glennon was bad but I didn't realize they were bad enough to screw the efficiency over 3 years.
  13. I doubt anyone would want to give us some cap relief but multiple teams would be benefitting from the cap remaining the same or the loss spread over. I wouldn't be surprised if the NFL finds some middle ground but in any case we'll need to create some cap relief.
  14. Glad it's not set yet. I'm still optimistic that the owners will just take the punch and at least keep the cap the same. $175M would really screw us though, we don't have that much of a cap flexibility.
  15. I hope it's not a fluke but Sneed has been a great surprise so far. Definitely one of those guys that would get late 1st or at worst a 2nd round projection in a re-draft.
  16. Didn't we just guarantee Schwartz's contract before the season? Regardless HB won't be playing with a cap of $20 million next year. He'll likely get 4-5 at most in a new deal which already saves our cap situation. Also I don't see LDT coming back to the NFL which will be another cap boost. However if we are getting rid of one OT Fisher is the smart choice, may be a trade who knows but Schwartz is better at what he does than Fisher assuming we have the guy to take over.
  17. I think the first loss was on Reid more than anyone else. He'll take this one seriously which should reflect on the final score, a relatively easy win if we find some linemen to stand in front of Mahomes.
  18. Awesome signing. If he causes some problems just cut him loose, if not we get a high draft pick in a very team friendly situation.
  19. I don't see Fisher leaving in favor of a rookie. We don't know who'll be available in late 1st so we'll likely keep Fisher for the last year of his contract. I was expecting Niang to start for us in 2021 at OT but not sure how that will turn out after missing a year, but he sure would be a rookie if he starts as this season doesn't count for eligibility.
  20. A whole position group during the bye week
  21. We would easily knock them out of the playoffs if Smith could actually scan the field and hit a wide open Hill in more than one occasion. With Mahomes there's no team we cannot beat so the Steelers aren't unbeatable even though they seem to be the top competition in the conference.
  22. Didn't they sign extensions during the summer or the year before?
