Charles lining up at WR with Thomas Jones in the backfield led to some interesting plays in the past. Don't know much about Bell's receiving abilities though.
Not sure if it's a desperation move due to injuries like Hitchens or simply a search for an upgrade. Either way we should be bringing any decent LB we can find.
Watkins simply made our passing game better but I'm sort of excited to finally see Hardman in action as a primary target. Need to see him in an extended role and Watkins is likely a free agent after this season.
The only reason Mahomes was sacked so few times is due to his mobility and he created some scores with that mobility that would otherwise lead to a worse score deficit.
Fix the line and hopefully we can start running the ball. I don't think this loss is a big deal as we needed everything to go against us to actually lose this one, and that's very unlikely to repeat but we can still get better.
I agree we should be pushed to Sunday and whatever happens between Bills/Titans should go on as previously scheduled or postponed. No need to hold all teams hostage waiting for a single positive test. Scheduling practice and rest days must be very tough under these circumstances.
EA is huge and has the money to overpay for exclusive rights to the NFL. NFL doesn't care if we have fun or not as long as they get the big bucks. As long as EA is profiting from the game we probably won't see any changes.
That's the normal way but most teams also don't want to wait a few months for those candidates since that means less time to work on the roster and prepare for the draft. Hence "settle" for available options, which is why successful ones always get the short end of the stick. I'm just speculating of course but I wouldn't be surprised if Reid lets a coordinator or two break the regular flow and actually leave early.
EB will get the short end of the stick like other Chiefs coordinators going forward. Unless there's a major issue that cuts the season short he or another coordinator will have to wait until late January or February to start their new job. That's only possible if he agrees on a move during the playoffs as no team will wait on a possible HC for 2-3 months without anything written on paper or put all their eggs in a single basket and compete with other teams.
Reid doesn't like to hold his coordinators back so if there's a good opportunity that the coordinator is very much interested in I think he'll ease the process for those guys. I imagine he would be more strict with a guy like Spags or another DC but on offense it'll be a very different story.
I couldn't care one bit about his coverage skills at this point, he'll learn that on the field but looks very solid against the run. I haven't seen anything resembling the first two gifs ever since DJ left and really missed that.
In terms of the rules I know that he cannot be hired during the season. However the question is will the Chiefs actually force him to stay in town if there's an option he's willing to pursue. Kafka is probably waiting to take over and a possible switch during the season might not be that bad for either man.
Regarding the time he has been an OC long enough to get hired but Reid has been very active in most of that process due to Mahomes which probably lowers the overall experience for EB. Still he was very close last year so someone can always pull the trigger.
NFL is very different than it was in Gonzo's prime. Right now passing game is barely a step up from tag football and there are more attempts to go around for everyone. I've never seen a TE as athletic as Kelce but he has been catching perfect throws for the last 3 years and before that it wasn't as bad as what Gonzo had to deal with after Trent. He should (and will) be in HOF but most of what Kelce is due to Gonzo revolutionizing the position for everyone.
Bieniemy didn't have enough experience at OC to leave last year but that won't be the case this offseason. At this point I'm wondering if he lasts until the end of the season or if he leaves much sooner.
