  1. He was supposed to be a "steal" in a draft where we got Mahomes for only 2 1sts He looked like a decent rotational guy in his sophmore season but made some big mistakes and looks like they are done with him after Adams addition.
  2. That would be too much of a conspiracy theory and really petty for any franchise (may be BB would consider it). The key is no Chiefs player really opted out as the idea of a dynasty is probably very sweet but who knows. LDT is a doctor who chose to help in an area of need rather than playing football for a year. Others are opting out to reduce health risks whereas LDT opted out to pursue an area with a lot more health risks than playing, the exact opposite IMO.
  3. It's definitely a possibility depending on his development and risky cap situation of 2021 but too early for such predictions IMO. There have been guys groomed for bookend roles in the past that ended up staying on the inside for good.
  4. Reiter looked like a decent backup in 2018 but definitely not good enough to be the man as seen in 2019. We won it all but had some rough times with some of the players, no need to stop upgrading. Sometimes a single mistake can ruin a season and bad players tend to make more mistakes.
  5. Probably doesn't have the cash to get a major share unless he has to pay down the line but this is a huge boost for both the Royals and KC.
  6. Kittle is a top-3 TE in the NFL. There's no way a player can be overrated in such a situation. I think Kelce is better but still doesn't make the next best thing or the next one after that overrated.
  7. He should be on the books only for this year. No 2021 cap for him. Realistically I can see HB signing an extension next year as he'll have only a year left in his deal so could save some double digit figures. LDT will likely retire and become a full time doctor, don't know about his dead money. The rest are here to stay IMO unless some injuries occur.
  8. They spent 2 2nd day picks on safeties over the last couple drafts and now packaging McDougald with 2 1sts and a 3rd to upgrade to Adams and paying him a huge contract. Looks like Wilson will keep on having a fun time sticking with Seattle instead of opting for the Giants
  9. "Up to 2 million" should mean quite a few incentives based on starting and decent play that can be measured. In such a scenario I'm fine with him earning 100% of that contract and providing good protection up front
  10. I'm pretty sure LDT talked with him prior to the announcement so Veach simply got out and took action. Or Veach simply prepared for a doctor giving up on the season with a great foresight, which would be even better
  11. Good move IMO. I doubt we paid a lot and as seen by Wisniewski signing even when aging the once-solid players' technique seems to stay there.
  12. And 1.5 million is definitely less than 1 million in saved cap space as it simply pushes some lame contract to the mix. Definitely not worth giving up on a 2nd rounder unless Spags thinks he's trash.
  13. The way it's reported in the media is a bit silly. He's not backing off due to the possibility of catching the virus but rather giving his medical degree precedence over his NFL career. At 29, being a doctor, I understand his decision. The part I'm curious about is the cap ramifications, he has some dead money but are we still obligated for all of it when the player opts out?
  14. I'm hoping we get a decent end of the rotation guy out of him as soon as this year. Having a 5th round grade on a CB should be worth something but obviously it all depends on whenever he can come back.
  15. We have enough cap space to double his salary for this year. Have a heart.
  16. Kelce blocks in open space and whenever he lines up in close formations but in reality he's just a big WR playing in the middle. Also he's far from the classical blocking TEs that are generally closer to being a linemen than a receiver.
  17. Erving had more fun than anyone else that's for sure. I'm guessing a great locker room guy as well but definitely needs to be away from the field.
  18. I think the average over 10 years is the key as cap is expected to go up. Regardless I don't see Mahomes playing under this contract for the next 12 years, we'll see quite a bit of restructures and extensions in the process. The important part was Mahomes signing the extension which made his rookie deal continue as is for the next 2 years that helps out with the cap in the uncertain times. Regardless it's all a risk as we don't know how things will turn out in the short term.
  19. Forgot all about him, I wish we had him coming back instead of pretty much any of the 3 "starters" we have on paper now.
  20. May be that's simply hoping the 3 interior linemen wouldn't return 🙄 In seriousness Ragland and Fuller were starters but I don't know who the 3rd one is. May be someone that took over someone else due to injury is named as a starter that left.
  21. I think Mahomes is saying he left something on the table so Jones could get some in the short term.
  22. They have been playing soccer in Europe for the last 6-7 weeks. They simply test before and after each game and if someone tests positive they sit out and go through some regulations but in terms of safety NFL is much worse. I don't think a 53-man roster is realistic under current circumstances but also some players testing positive (and sitting out) will create a lot of competitive disadvantages based on the player in question.
