  1. the Chiefs will give Erving this year to show improvement and if he doesn't, he's gone. This will be his first seasons with a competent coaching staff. Last year he had to adjust on the fly with our system. The Browns haven't been capable of drafting and developing anyone, so I am willing to give Erving a chance with the Chiefs.
  2. It's because of the schedule. My God, we have to play @SD, @PIT, @DEN and @NE within the first 6 weeks.
  3. Huh, it's almost as if common sense would suggest training camp being a situation where the things that happen don't really matter and are literally used for training purposes.
  4. I can't believe he said that. Please for the love of God I hope Pederson and Reid had a mob style sit down this off-season with Pederson chewing Reid's ass on playing close to the vest every game.
  5. Sounds like Cam Erving and Eric Fisher got a little banged up today in practice. Nothing serious.

  7. In reference to Ryan Tannehill having 5 interceptions in camp so far: MAPLE RICKKKKKK ? ?‏ @TheMapleRick 32m32 minutes ago More MAPLE RICKKKKKK ? ?Retweeted Armando Salguero Aaron Rodgers has 7 interceptions in 4 practices. Can we please not make this a thing like it matters?
  8. No he didn't, he played at Texas Tech who was God awful while he was there, that was my whole point. He wasn't lining up with 3 NFL WRs each game. Tech has only had 3-4 players drafted, including Mahomes, since 2015. I'm not sure what you said here, either, you're asking how could he throw interceptions with WRs getting 3 yards of seperation, yet you're saying you don't get the whole "oh, he's a young QB so we expect him to throw interceptions...??? He can buck that trend because *whispers* He never was the type of QB to throw alot of interceptions to begin with.

  10. I still don't get the context of that Tweet from Teicher. Live with for some time??? What, the 4 more weeks of pre-season? I'll say it again, in his 3 years at TT, with maybe 3-4 NFL players around him the whole time, Mahomes threw 29 Interceptions in 1350 pass attempts. It's a 2% interception rate. He threw 93 Touchdowns in his collegiate career. You live with a pick here and there because he'll throw 3 times more touchdowns.
  11. Just wait until Mahomes looks good in pre-season and Teicher starts writing articles on how it doesn't matter until the regular season starts.
  12. Let's all also try to remember that there's really no pressure on the Chiefs or Mahomes to do anything this year. Sure, we'd all love to see him explode on the scene and be an instant success. But, if that doesn't happen this year right away, it's ok it doesn't have to. Personally, I think if the Chiefs can't get going this year it will still be because the defense loses more games than Mahomes screwing up on offense.
  13. just breathe, if Mahomes was throwing 4 TDs and 0 int's everyday we'd be reading articles on how it's just meaningless training camp and we can't read into it until the regular season starts. Remember how good Alex Smith looked in training camp each season? Exactly.
  14. I saw the PFF article, but IMO, that was written and piggy backed of Teicher's ESPN article. This is common for websites that use Twitter to feed traffic to their site. This is not National news. Living in Colorado I follow alot of the Denver media as well and I have yet to see any information about Case Keenum throwing interceptions. KC media has a long running reputation for being overly negative and applying an "East Coast panic button" style of reporting to get your attention. Denver media is way over confident and over sells everything. Here is a tweet I made in regards to all of this a few days ago: https://twitter.com/ShaneWilmes/status/1023609322012459008
  15. I get that people associate "being a gunslinger" with throwing a lot of picks, but Mahomes never threw a lot of interceptions in college, so I'm not sure why the media or fans are so concerned he's an interception machine. Look at his numbers his whole career at TT: 1.349 PA 93 TD 29 INT. He had a 3:1 TD to INT. 2% of his pass attempts were interceptions. This includes his freshman year in which he only started 7 games, yet he had a 16:4 TD/INT ratio. Keep in mind, Mahomes was the only TT player drafted between 2016 and 2017. I'm not sure about 2015, but my guess is that TT team also went without anyone getting drafted.

  17. I doubt we see teams stacking the box against the Chiefs anymore. There's just too many outside weapons and that will open up huge running lanes.
  18. With all this said, I think it's safer and smarter for this year year at least, to focus on running the ball to set up the play fake. Reason being with Hunt and Ware we should be able to wear teams out and then hit them over the top or middle. Since it's Mahomes' first season starting, it'll be tough on him if we have to throw 40-45 times a game for whatever reason.
  19. Oh I know that, you're on of those fans lol. Mahomes didn't even throw a ton of picks at TT so I'm not sure why there's this huge concern he's the type of QB that throws a ton of picks. Dicking around in training camp throwing picks is where you learn not to throw them in the games.
  20. That's not true at all. I'm not making excuses and high INT total is possible this year, but this is Training Camp. None of it matters. This is where you try throws you may never try in a game to see what you can get away with or not. That's why it's called Training Camp. You gotta love the negative nancy fans and media: Mahomes throws a ton of picks in practice, it matters. Mahomes never throws a pick and countless TDs, doesn't matter, its only training camp. It's the same thing year and year out with fans and media.
