Not sure what to expect. After the Raiders getting blown TFO against NYJ, it's hard to believe they'll be competent this week. They barely even beat CIN the week before. Popular take by stereotypical Chiefs' fans will be "oh, it'll be a close game". I don't know what the score will be but I know the Chiefs are due to drub somebody and the Raiders are the perfect opportunity. Will we see it or will Andy Reid continue to drag his feet on play-calling? Will Spags know what defense to run?

That's the play that I wish would've happened the most. If HB just pulls down that pick, we probably ride the momentum to another TD and go up 31-9 and the whole narrative changes.

I know I've been super hard on the Chiefs in some of these bad losses and brought up firing Andy Reid if the disappointments continue, but I've never understood the mindset that if the Chiefs don't win by at least 3 scores I'm not happy. Try to remember a few things about the game last night: Division opponent, road game in Mexico City at high altitude and on a bad field. Also, the Chargers aren't trash, especially on defense. They completely shut down the Packers a few weeks ago and have been a nuisance to most offenses they face. Bosa and Ingram are no joke. Last night was ugly, but we needed a win like that where defense makes the game winning play on a night our offense doesn't "have it". I have no worries about the offense other than play calling on crucial downs or in the red zone. Other than a few ill timed screens, I was fine with what Reid had last night. Defensively, we should be getting Okafor and K. Fuller back after the bye and the offense has 2 weeks to work on a few things to get better as well.

Penalties and screen passes at the wrong time were drive killers last night. I will say, the exit of Tyreek Hill probably threw a major wrench into Reid's initial game plan. Couple that with the traveling, the altitude and the field and I'm willing to give them a break. Reid needs to focus on penalties and not calling screen passes on key 3rd or 4th downs. Mahomes always makes the right decision, let him make the play. It was nice to see the defense step up like that in the 2nd half and win the game.

The Chiefs have about 7 DL they rotate in: Jones, Clark, Nnadi, Saunders, KPass, Pennel and Ivie.

KC should be using Nnadi and Saunders up the middle with Jones and Clark on the outside. In obvious passing situations they'll move Jones inside and insert KPass somewhere along the line while taking Nnadi out.

I'm seeing Russell Okung listed as Doubtful on the report I saw last. He's most likely not going to play.

All we can hope for is that Andy Reid doesn't have his head up his ass or we'll lose. Also, who knows what to expect out of the defense as well. Will spags have the right sub packages and personnel on the field at the right or wrong times? Will the Special Teams be improved?

Blake Bell is hurt and out this week against the Chargers. Just more confirmation what a dumb play call this was.

IDK if anyone else heard Seth Keysor at about 5pm yesterday on 810. He said the defensive personnel and play calling for the Titans game made 0 sense as well lol. He pretty much said the same things all of us are as far as why certain players were not given the same snaps as the last 3 games and so forth.

It obviously was the wrong decision to have Pennel IA, the only thing I can think of here is that since Pennel was signed off the street he needed rest or something like that, but still.

I agree on all counts and that's a good point about Jones on the inside on obvious passing downs. Based on what you're suggesting, in those situations you would have Jones, Clark and and when he returns Okafor at DE, while using a rotation of Saunders, Pennel and Nnadi at DT. Also, Tim Grunhard said on 810 yesterday he thinks Chris Jones is playing around 280lbs right now. Probably an exaggeration but thinks he's smaller and leaner than last year. It almost seems like Reid and Spags needed one more game of bad defense to be convinced of going back to the rotation we are talking about in the MIN game. It worked so well. If this isn't done against the Chargers then just put a clown suit on both Reid and Spags, this is getting ridiculous.

Possibly, but all that ended up happening to Hunt was an 8 game suspension. The Hunt video surfaced about this time last year and by March Hunt already been signed by CLE. Nobody cares about the Hunt video anymore, all they know is CLE got a steal by signing him. IMO, the Chiefs know they made a mistake by knee jerk cutting him and that's why they didn't do that with Hill when the initial reports came out.

Probably, but not sure there's a difference since Aaron Donald is the market setter at DT. They were using Jones that way against MIN and for whatever reason put him back at DT while not giving snaps to Nnadi, Saunders and even Pennel.

One thing I wanted to add to the discussion today is some information I heard on "The Program" with Soren Petro on 810 WHB yesterday. He was saying he thinks the reason the defense reverted back to it's old self and couldn't stop the run is because the Chiefs put Chris Jones back at DT instead of DE. He was saying that the best DL line up for KC would be Clark and Jones on the outside at DE and putting Saunders and Nnadi in the middle at DT. This was the line up for most of the MIN game. He also noted with the injuries to Ogbah and Okafor, the Chiefs have no other choice right now. I would be fine with that going forward, not sure why Spags went back to the other way.
