  1. Put Jones at DE. Get Wharton and Reed in at DT. Our DE position is fixed and we can then go into next year for a DE or DT.
  2. You may say this in jest, but I would be fine drafting 4 linemen or more this year. Take over for Long, LT or center. Try to get all you can and go into FA and draft next year knowing what we need.
  3. He will be down on him soon enough when he plays in 6 games this year.
  4. Man our deal of what we gave for Mahomes is a steal!
  5. I figured spell check got you! Made me laugh though.
  6. But the rumors of him coming back...... this is why LT remains a mystery. If they plan on keeping Thuney at LG, where Allegretti did well, then I can't see Allegretti moving to the right side where he has never played I believe. LDT and Long will battle that out. Long or Thuney can play LT too. So maybe Allegretti stays put? Then you look how hard we pushed to get Williams. That would say they plan on putting Thuney and Long/LDT at guard. Allegretti may be our center but again, if he was not given a Chace because of what they saw, why would we want that? I think center drafted high with a LT develop type guy would be our draft. Just maybe get one of those positions as a stop gap type vet like Pouncy, or one of the vet LTs. I would like to pick up a center after we trade back. Get the center and go after an OT like Brown, is it? from UNI with our last pick in the 2nd round. Then again we still need a 2nd WR, LB help, 2nd TE etc too.
  7. Well that is good. Allegretti was seen as a possible center. Like it or not, if he would have outplayed Reiter the last couple years he would have been given a chance. Even when they replaced Reiter, they did so with Kilgore. A guy who has yet to take a snap at center in the NFL after a few years does not bode well for him. I could care less but I rather have a drafted center, high one, then rely on putting all my eggs in this basket Lukas.
  8. If they feel that way, but Allegretti already battled a 7th round pick in Reiter, among others, and could not win the job. I want us to draft a high one if we don't fill via FA or trade/cuts.
  9. I will be pissed if they resign Reiter. Allegretti is not going to do it, but if they resign Reiter we all lose imo.
  10. Proven LT for the 31st pick? I would do it. Wonder what it would take to get it done though? Leaves us a center need, LB, de(I think we get a fa one or one cut), 2nd TE and 2nd WR really. I would still draft another Lineman too.
  11. Would like to get a center and/or LT vet. Centers left without trading for are in the link. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/all/center/
  12. Incentive laden contract. Could use the depth at DE if anything.
  13. https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2021/03/24/kansas-city-chiefs-2021-free-agency-salary-cap-update-21-million/ The Kansas City Chiefs have quite a bit of salary cap space available, but they’ve yet to figure out how they want to spend it. According to the NFLPA’s public salary cap report, the Chiefs currently have $21.6 million in salary cap space available and are listed with 64 players under contract. There are a few players that don’t seem to be in their system yet, such as recently re-signed players Mike Remmers, Taco Charlton, Nick Keizer and Daniel Sorensen. So this number is probably actually somewhere under $20 million right now, but it’s still plenty when it comes to adding more impact players. Kansas City restructured a number of contracts, including Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Chris Jones in order to free up cap space and be competitive in free agency. The problem is that they just haven’t been able to close with several of their free agent targets and they’re running out of options that can truly help this team improve. The team reportedly came very close to signing left tackle Trent Williams, but it’s now clear that he used the Chiefs for leverage all along. They’ve been actively searching for help at the receiver position, but missed out on several key free agents they’d been talking with such as JuJu Smith-Schuster and Josh Reynolds. They’ve recently brought a pair of players in for visits with K’Waun Williams and Melvin Ingram, but with recent injuries to both there is no guarantee that either player ends up in Kansas City. With big needs at left tackle, the team has reportedly had some exploratory talks, checking in with veteran left tackle Russell Okung. So far, the Chiefs have only been able to land one big fish, signing former New England Patriots guard Joe Thuney to a five-year deal. They also snagged a great low-risk, high-reward option in Kyle Long and brought back Blake Bell after he spent a year in Dallas. Outside of those three moves everything the Brett Veach has done has been about retaining minor role players. This free agency period has been uneventful and a bit disappointing for fans, but Veach seems to be taking the cautious approach to free agency. Maybe it’ll pay off and a player becomes available later in the process that the team has the money to sign. Perhaps they’ll use the cap space to acquire a player in trade during or around the draft. They could also end up rolling over a significant portion of the money freed to the 2022 NFL season. There’s still a lot of different ways that this can free agency period can play out and be deemed a success, despite the early frustrations.
  14. Bet he did not see that coming, then again he never really turns his head around.....
  15. Cheap guy that if he did work out would be great for us. I just can't place 3 games at the college level and now 3 years later to think he will ever be a center.
  16. Rumors or not, the fact they have not flat out said it is not true speaks volumes. I would rather see Thuney at Center than Allegretti. He has played it in games in the NFL. I wanted Hudson badly He would have been perfect for us. We need to get one in FA or draft. We can't go forward hoping someone can play the spot and not collapse the pocket in front of Mahomes.
  17. Not even close. They are looking to bring Reiter back, says enough of what they think of Allegretti at center. Rather get a true center that has played it throughout his career. Done with the projects.
  18. I want to see a center and LT later then. If Schwartz is in their plans maybe Niang does go to LT? A true mauling center who can pass/run block would be what the line needs.
  19. Who cares what contracts are to win it all? Really, before we won we all would have loved to go all in to just win it once and have some bad years after, but we would have won it. Thing is we did have a couple bad contracts, still won it and are still competitive to win more. Even with those mentioned above we went to back to back SB and are primed to go again and again and again.
