  1. No he can earn up to 16 million with new contract. That is how we got 5 million savings. Man you all are confusing me.
  2. I take it the hit this year for sammy as we had him still on our team was 21 million. This new deal is guaranteed 9 mil with 7 mil incentitives. 21 -16 is 5 million savings off the top. The incentives come into play once we know what they are but as a team you have to figure the 16 million hit in now.
  3. No. On this year. This is why the savings is 5 million. I assume those he does not meet will then roll over cap for next year
  4. Allows us to draft a WR(s) to learn it this year and be able to produce next year when him and Drob are gone possibly.
  5. Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins' new deal includes $7M in incentives, no-trade clause 5:47 AM MT ESPN Wide receiver Sammy Watkins is staying with the Kansas City Chiefsafter agreeing to restructure his contract, a source confirmed to ESPN. The source said Watkins' new deal has a maximum value of $16 million, including $7 million in incentives, and contains a no-trade clause. The move creates $5 million in salary-cap space for the Chiefs, according to Yahoo Sports, which first reported the restructured contract. The Super Bowl champions were down to $171 in cap space prior to the new agreement. Watkins acknowledged the move on Twitter on Friday morning, writing"Im back KC LETS GET IT..! #RUNITBACKTOUR" 1,636 people are talking about this The move keeps the Chiefs' top four receivers from 2019 -- Watkins, Tyreek Hill, Demarcus Robinsonand Mecole Hardman -- together for next season. Kansas City signed Robinson to a one-year contract last month. Watkins, 26, has been mainly a third receiving option for the Chiefs, and other than the occasional big game -- most notably a 198-yard, three-touchdown showing against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2019 regular-season opener -- he hasn't produced a lot for Kansas City in two seasons. He has caught 92 passes for six touchdowns in 24 regular-season games. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/28990233/chiefs-wr-sammy-watkins-restructure-includes-7m-incentives-no-trade-clause
  6. So it is a 9 million dollar deal ( 7 was the guarantee for the year any ways) and incentives up to 16 mil. Before he was scheduled to make 21 million 21 -16 is 5 in total savings It will probably be more as i doubt he hits all incentives. Curious as to what they are but i bet being healthy and able to play in 15 or 16 games is one of the big ones.

  9. My God, the quarantine is messing with you Balto! I need some aspirin
  10. Some articles on it per Google https://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&client=ms-android-uscellular-us&source=android-browser&q=watkins+to+eagles+rumors
  11. I am 1200 miles away from my liquor cabinet. It is a pipe dream at best, but with no sports it is something to do.
  12. NFL Rumors: Eagles showing interest in trading for Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins.
  13. Surprised no one has mentioned Clowney, especially Balto. He has lowered his asking price. Figured I would see something like Watkins is restructured or cut. Saves us 14 mil if cut. Let Reiters go too. The sign Clowney and keep Jones tagged for now to work out a long term deal or trade him next year. Draft Ruiz (C) and go from there. Clowney, Jones, Penell, Clark in the line. Saunders, Speaks, Okafor and Nnadi as depth. Be even better if we signed Breeland and only need to get LB, WR us deep and maybe RB/TE in draft then if we got Ruiz at center.
  14. I think Ragland needed to go. I hope they move Hitchens to his role. Limited cover ability, just let him go into lanes and blow it up. No reading just going and plugging the lanes. If it works great. If not let him go next year
  15. The Bird right? Is that what you are talking about?
  16. CB is pretty deep. I think we can get a good OL or LB in round 2. I think we will be fine The team is back and we can win just like last year. Also have yet to see how things shake out with contracts for our guys too.
  17. The whole D is back so far other than Ragland and Fuller. Breeland is the only other one not signed yet as a starter from last year.
  18. Naa, he is good at finding the guys that fit off others practice squad, cuts and even UDFA. We have the same team pretty much coming back, healthy too, and still have the draft also.
  19. Good time to take a WR in 3rd or later with high upside. Let them learn a year. Go get the OG, CB and LB first. Hell even TE.
  20. Who knows? The formula used is a secret. It goes off amount signed, time played, stats, if they become pro bowl type guy etc. The quality of players lost. They then take into account FA the losing team, say the Chiefs, sign themselves. You can also receive comp picks if you lose more than gain in FA. They throw it all into a blender and spit out comp picks. Highest you can get is end of 3rd round. Most you can get is 4 comp picks per year.
  21. Yes. Signed this year, but comp picks come in 2021 draft.
