  1. Please dont draft a guy just because of his speed. Our scouts have done an amazing job as we have had good picks. I do not want to become like the Raiders were in picking every fast combine guy and watching them bust because they fell in love with the 40 time. Man they would over reach way to high in those last years of Al Davis.
  2. Interested to see some of the OL guys like Hakeem Adeniji, Cameron Clark and Throckmorton. All can play OT/G. Also RBs like Moss and Akers.
  3. All depends on things we may not see that scouts look at. 4th to 6th rounder. I think he will take a year to develop and be depth. Get a C in draft or FA and we could take a chance on him.
  4. He had AC surgery for a lingering pain from it. He will be cleared by April, I dont think it drops him that much if at all.
  5. The more he wins, breaks records and more rings, the more he will make in endorsements plus it will continue when his career is done. The money will be there, especially if he continues to do what he has up to now.
  6. There is so much that Veach can do here. All has been discussed. Tag and trade. Tag and let him play this year and tag again next year. Sign him long term. Cut or restructure others like LDT, Sorensen, Watkins, Wilson to name a few. He has so many options going forward. This also is not including what they can do next year for cap space if Jones plays out this tagged year.
  7. List of players the chiefs met or contacted at the combine for OL and RB. https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2020/02/26/kansas-city-chiefs-combine-formal-informal-interview-tracker-2020-nfl-scouting-combine-offensive-line-running-backs/ The Kansas City Chiefs have started to meet with a new wave of draft prospects at the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine. This time it was the offensive line and running backs. Informally, the coaching staff and front office are allowed to meet with as many of the 337 prospects as they want. These are usually quick 15-minute conversations with a scout or position coach. Formally, teams are only permitted to interview a total of 45 prospects. These interviews are highly-structured and a sitdown meeting with multiple members of the organization. Keep in mind that with the new combine schedule implemented this year, many players won’t take formal interviews with teams until after the media interviews. If the last two seasons are any indication, a lot of the players that get formal meetings with Kansas City could end up on the roster. Six players the Chiefs met with formally at the combine ended up drafted by the team, with three in 2018 and another three in 2019. 8. I have my phone remembering the weirdest things because of mistype. At least fucking is no longer ducking among other words. I usually get 2 words into one with a B instead of space bar. Use to work behind a desk so typing was always easier on a keyboard, especailly during the Scout days. Now though Lukas, my phone is the majority of post. Always miss a key word like LEAST above where i hit the K instead. No matter to me, i just go and hit send and clean up if i missed it now and then.
  9. I found it ironic is all lol. Not mad! Hard to tell in post but i thought it was funny for pointing it out.
  10. Kkuenn......at least get the name right. No H in there.....smdh I also type a lot from my phone. Out in the field etc. I dont always catch the space bar or such for the words. I clean it up when i can though
  11. The savings is not there to cut him this year. I will say one point, Fish was a former overall 1st pick. It is a crap shoot to think a low end 1st rounder would come in and replace him and do as well or better right away. It takes time to get settled in the NFL and to not have a guy developing behind Fisher is asking for trouble imo. I know, sometimes a guy does well his first year etc but a chance I don't want to take with Mahomes blind side. Next year we can see if he wants to renegotiate or move if need be. I think we need a good G in FA or C and draft then the other. Allegretti and others we have now need to show something this year. Hell, maybe Rankins and such has and we dont know how they view them at G or even C.
  12. If we get a guy who can cover at LB, then why not get him? They also cut Martin who was not the same coming back from his knee injury. I think the Chiefs need to look at them and assess what it was exactly they were asked to do in the defense and in Martins case, see if his knee is healed 100%. We could draft a cover type LB or get one in FA and then keep Wilson or save by cutting Wilson, get a LB in FA if there is a cover type even better, if not draft one. It is good though to see so many LBs being cut lately as it gives us even more flexibility and the chance to scout them etc.
  13. So your are combining the combine threads if so?
  14. Lol Jags are cutting or trading high priced players just to get cap space. I cant see them taking on bigger contracts now. https://www.bigcatcountry.com/2019/12/23/21021307/which-players-cap-casualties-jaguars-2020
  15. Steelers traded their first for Minkah Fitzpatrick even before knowing where they may be in the first round after the bad start they had. Khalil Mack netted many picks including 2 first round picks. Jaguars got a 1st from the Rams for Ramsey. Dolphins got 1st round pick from Texans for Tunsil That is just off the top of my head from the last 2 years not including our trade for Clark. If some of these guys can get 1st round picks in a trade, I think Jones can too.
  16. Look at how Veach has done with finding these type of players on the cheap. He saw something and saw that Ravens had put him on IR after drafting him in the 6th round in 2018. He came here and was put on IR in November. I wonder if it was the same foot? Something is up that they liked him enough to still pick him up and then promptly put him on IR. He can play LT but most likely a guard for us. A a swing player many here want drafted.
  17. Not all owners voted to approve. Anyone have who or what number did not vote in favor of this?
  18. At Center i will look for/reading on Matt Hennessy at Temple.
  19. I like this if we do in fact get a G or C in the FA period. https://arrowheadguys.com/2020/02/20/what-if-series-what-if-the-chiefs-cut-sammy-watkins/ What If Series: What If The Chiefs Cut Sammy Watkins? 21 replies By Nate Christensen 21 hours ago Nate looks at some “What If’s” for the Kansas City Chiefs as we head into the offseason; today he discusses what if the Chiefs cut Sammy Watkins We’re continuing our “What If” series today, with a situation that is very possible. Sammy Watkins is earning a bunch of money, and the Chiefs can save a lot of money by him leaving. Today, we’re looking at how Chiefs could approach offseason without Watkins. Step 1: Cut Watkins By cutting Sammy, we save 14 million. That by itself can almost pay for Chris Jones by itself. We only have 13 million in cap space before, but now we’re at 27 million. With that, we already can resign Jones and extend Mahomes Step 2: Cut LDT, Cam Erving, Damien Wilson, Austin Reiter With all these moves combined, we save about 15 million. This gives us around 43 million in cap space. We have plenty to now sign Jones and Mahomes, but even make moves in free agency. None of these guys really contribute enough to stay around in 2020. They are all replaceable, either by signing someone or already someone on the roster. We need cap space more than anything. Now, we have plenty to get in the race. Step 3: Resign Mike Pennel, Kendall Fuller, Emmanuel Ogbah Pennel for a two-year deal. Fuller one-year. Ogbah three-year. Step 4: Franchise Chris Jones This one is obvious. To me, we either keep Sammy Watkins or Chris Jones. Chris Jones is way more valuable to our team, and is the way better player. We now have around 12 million dollars in cap space. Step 5: Extend Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce I’m not going to really pay any free agents. I think we should keep our 12 million to roll over for Kelce and Mahomes to get paid. I did really consider Joe Schobert as our next WILL linebacker, but if we spend a lot of money in free agency, we’re kind of screwed long-term. Step 6: NFL Draft Pick 32: Zack Baun (LB/Edge, Wisconsin) Pick 63: Bryce Hall (CB, Virginia) Pick 96: Michael Pittman Jr. (WR, USC) Pick 128: Lamar Jackson (CB, Nebraska) Pick 159: John Simpson (G, Clemson) Zack Baun played edge at college, but also off-ball linebacker. Baun is athletic, and can cover the whole field. He’s bigger as well, and can help in the run game. On 3rd down, he can line up in our NASCAR packages, or play as the dime LB. Baun is really raw, but with Matt House, he could be a special player. Bryce Hall does have injury concerns, but he fits this scheme well. A long, very physical cornerback with ball skills fits exactly what Spags wants in a cornerback. At 63, he’s nearly the perfect pick. He would be a stud in our system. Michael Pittman is the perfect replacement at X receiver for Sammy Watkins. He runs really well, but is also a bigger body. He’s very similar in play style to Watkins. I’m really intrigued to see what Pittman runs in the draft, because if he runs well, this may be a steal at 96. Lamar Jackson is a really good athlete, but smaller. He could potentially play in the slot in 2020. John Simpson provides more depth on the offensive line. Conclusion: Do I like this offseason? Overall, I’m good with this offseason. We don’t have any real flashy moves, but this returns the main core for 2020. We replace Sammy Watkins well with Pittman, while getting much better at linebacker and cornerback. I know I didn’t get into free agents, but we fill some depth there. This team right here would easily be the favorite in 2020, especially with this rookie class. Offseason grade: A
  20. F that. I rather get a very good bottle of scotch and rewatch the game while drinking it for that price. Still cool looking but man that is insane of a price.
  21. Oh. Thanks for this. Man I saw this and was like wtf? So Jones is still ours if we wish.
  22. Would really screw us if this comes to fruition. https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/report_nfl_teams_could_lose_ability_to_use_franchise_tag_this_year/s1_12680_31353983 Report: NFL teams could lose ability to use franchise tag this year Originally posted on Sportsnaut | By Vincent Frank | Last updated 2/19/20 Reports that the NFL and NFLPA might be closing in on a new collective bargaining agreement came as a surprise earlier on Wednesday. Among the topics, the NFL is planning for a 17-game regular season and a new playoff format to start next season. However, there are other short-term implications. According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, a new CBA being signed ahead of March 18 (the start of the new league year) would prevent teams from being able to use the franchise tag. See Dan Graziano's other Tweets This is no small thing. Stars such as Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper, Derrick Henry and Ryan Tannehill, among others, would be impacted if that came to fruition. NFL teams typically use the dreaded franchise tag to avoid seeing their top-end players hit the open market. If that’s not going to be the case this offseason, it’s going to lead to chaos on the free-agent market once March 18 comes calling. Stay tuned.
  23. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/28739375/more-playoff-teams-expected-new-cba-sources-say?platform=amp&__twitter_impression=true If and when a transformational collective bargaining agreement is finalized -- and there is now mounting optimism it could be done sometime in the next week -- it is expected to change the NFL's playoff structure as it is currently constituted for next season, league sources told ESPN. Under the current CBA proposal that NFL owners are pushing for, the playoff field would be expanded to seven teams from each conference, while the regular season would be increased to 17 games per team and the preseason shortened to three games per team, sources said. As part of the proposed playoff format, only one team from each conference would receive a first-round bye as opposed to the two that currently do, league sources said. That would mean a revised postseason schedule that includes six games on wild-card weekend, with three on Saturday and three on Sunday. The changes to the NFL's playoff format would take effect for the 2020 season, assuming the new CBA is ratified beforehand. Had the proposed format been in place this past season, the Los Angeles Ramsand Pittsburgh Steelers would have been the next teams included in the expanded playoff field. "That's been agreed to for a long time," one source familiar with the CBA talks said about the NFL's new playoff structure. "There wasn't a lot of disagreement to that issue." Additionally, the players on the teams that earn a first-round bye will receive postseason pay for that weekend. That was not the case under the current CBA, which has always rankled some players. Now the sides are trying to work through the final issues, including getting the players to sign off on a 17-game regular season. That has yet to be agreed to, and it would not take effect until 2021 at the earliest. As part of the deal now on the table, players would go from a 47% revenue share under the current deal to 48% share at 16 games, and then to a 48.5% share if they go to 17 games, shifting $5 billion of revenue to the players' side. "The new CBA's not done, there's no term sheet yet, there still are issues being negotiated, but I'd be very surprised if there's not a new CBA for the new league year," the source said.
  24. In the last 10 yrs, of the 40 teams that made the Conference Championship rd: 30 (75%) had first-round byes 10 (25%) played Wild Card weekend Home teams in the CC round w a bye made the Super Bowl 14 of 20 times (70%) Only 3 teams the last 10 yrs made the Super Bowl w/o a bye
