That long pass to Hill i believe was because of the defense going off to get the run game stopped. They knew he was cold coming in. A guy who had not done much of anything for a couple years etc. If GB goes all in against the run, we need to make them pay with a quick screen and play action. Moore will have had 10 days to prepare with Reid a game plan. They will not respect our passing until we make them pay. Wuick slants, 5 yard hitters all need to keep them honest and get the ball out quickly.

Hopefully they all believe now and know what is expected. Spags has to put them in the same situation and let them attack. Not so aggressive that screens and such kills us but get pressure and dial it up at times to keep them honest and away from the running game. LBs will be huge this game for the middle and for plugging the holes

Their schedule so far has been weak at best. The still have Bal, Car, seattle twice, GB, NO all coming up. They barely best Washington today who is a 1 win team.

Well people were on Veach and his picks. Speaks and Nnadi are from 2018, Veach did not have a 1st rounder that year. We have yet to see Speaks in the new system so he is yet to be judged. Watts and Nnadi look to be good starters/depth players going forward. Possibly 3 picks out of 6 good so far, DOD has yet to do anything but still on the team. 2019 picks look solid in Thornhill and Hardman. Throw in the fact Saunders is coming on and still has plenty to learn and seeing what we saw out of Fenton looking good. Still have Allegretti and Thompson learning the system and yet to see what we have in them. Throw in the fact we received Clark too. So out of 6 possible picks we have 2 starters, 2 upcoming guys and 2 yet to see time I think Veach has down really well in his 2 drafts so far. It will be nice to see what he can do with the cap space, get out of Jones (if they sign and trade as Saunders may be the real deal or we may not be able to afford him) and then go into FA then the draft knowing what we need. Very exciting to have the team signed for the near future and still so young. Then going out and getting Pennell who may be worth a look to extend after this season if he is in fact in shape and plays like he has before. I guess we just need to give him time and his picks time to see what they really do have for us.

Well we need to get to a 3rd and long type plays for our defense to make it a 2 down situation for olayers like this. Teams were killing us running it and making it 3rd and very short and able to run or pass at will in 3rd downs and even going for it on 4th downs a lot.

Wonder why they signed McClain in the first place to only then cut him a couple weeks later? Why not make this signing from the get go? I know McClain did not do shit in 2 games but man it would have been better to get Pennel going in the first place?

Just need to keep the big boy type receiver then for the red zone catches or catches over the middle. We get a LG and C next year in FA or draft and this offense will be set up for the future for quite a few years. Should be able to find that #2 TE if one is not developed here soon. Other thatn a couple line guys really, we can hit FA/draft for defense and get that LB, run stuffing DT and CB. We are really quite young and a lot of the guys are set up for a few years in contracts already. Will be great to have cap space and able to go forward when Mahomes is signed. Only thing is it may leave Jones out of the picture. I would love to see a tag and trade if we cannot sign him for a higher first round pick and more then the next year.

I would say the defense did their job for the first series too. Twice we had them stopped on 3rd down but dumb ass penalties kept it going.

Rather see them stop the run and take a chance with passes than see a team getting 6 ypc and killing the clock all game.

Finally good to see him bring it against the run and for him blitzing. Now keep it going and see how it goes against GB. Maybe this defense now actually starts ti click.

We know Hardman is 3rd or 4th option here. What is Metcalf? Also snap counts played plus knowing how hard it is as a rookie to pick up Reids system all comes into play. Those stats show we got a good one in Hardman if people were high on Metcalf.
