  1. He has improved all season. Would be huge for us to see that improvement continue along with Fuller or Breeland resign for next year. Allow us to go after Line needs then on both sides in FA and draft.
  2. Saw this article and they had this for ilb Inside Linebacker Target: Preston Brown Specs: 26 years old, 5 year NFL vet, 6’1, 250 lb, nearly 600 career tackles in 5+ seasons, injuries limited 2018 but has started all six games for Cincinnati this year. TOP ARTICLES1/5Tennessee Titans: What wentwrong with Marcus Mariota? The Why: Brown is a run stuffing inside linebacker who is fair in pass coverage but excels playing at the line of scrimmage. He’s averaging nearly 7 tackles per game over the course of this season and his career. He hasn’t been asked to do much pass coverage this year, but also would not be asked to do much of that in K.C. He would instantly upgrade the run defense for Steve Spagnuolo’s defense and even if he gave only average play, would have an impact. The How: Brown has a modest cap hit each season topping out around $5.8m in the 2021 season, which makes him an attractive option for a Chiefs team who will soon be up against the cap. And, if it doesn’t work the team can get out of the duration of the contract (2 years) for only $2.5m in dead cap space. The Bengals may be hesitant to let go of Brown, but the team should take any and all offers for any players who are unlikely to be a part of any significant turnaround, and with his ability to hit free agency after the 2021 season, Brown will likely want to move on before he hits 30. https://arrowheadaddict.com/2019/10/16/nfl-trade-deadline-ideas-kansas-city-chiefs-brett-veach-patrick-peterson/3/
  3. And yet if they play keep the ball away as the last few teams have done, we could be screwed.
  4. Lol if we got that we screwed them for sure.
  5. Even when we got up early last week it did not suck the life out of Houston. We need to pound them and keep the pedal down.
  6. As expected other than Breeland. Wonder what happened to him?
  7. They refs got together and discussed it. They could have said it was not PI but a hold instead. This is why they get together to ensure the call on the field is right. Even then they blew it.
  8. Give me a mobile QB against a DE in the open field any time of the day. I know the DE would probably get him but only after a good gain, just like Watson did. Not much room for error as they were so close to the end zone too.
  9. Cant hurt to ask if they are in full rebuild mode. Scherff at LG, Fisher at LT coming back and move Wis to C? Would be nice and really solidify the line. I would not want to overpay though, he will be a FA at the end of this year and the Redskins will want something over nothing for sure.
  10. I would go for it. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27847099/eagles-release-veteran-linebacker-zach-brown
  11. Lol I agree. I will go one step further and say: if we kept Houston at the 21 mil or even restructured, there would be many bitching why we kept the guy for what he is giving per his salary. Ford is already nursing injuries and Houston for his restructured price would have kicked the can down the road and not matched with his production. Clean break all around was best.
  12. Current FA out there, top 50 per the link. https://nfltraderumors.co/top-25-2019-nfl-free-agents-list/
  13. Go back to basics. Tackling, simple blocking schemes, using stunts and blitzes and sell out against the run. Learn to play discipline ball but going back to basics should allow us to cut down on penalties. Should at least help Erving who is shit back there. If he does not get a penalty he whiffs on his blocking.
  14. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27840057/barnwell-answering-nine-questions-define-nfl-season Should the Chiefs sit Patrick Mahomes for a week? For the second week in a row, Mahomes aggravated the ankle injury he originally suffered in Kansas City's season-opening win over Jacksonville. For the second week in a row, he wasn't anywhere near as effective after taking a hit to the ankle. And for the second week in a row, the Chiefs lost at home to AFC South competition, this time falling to the Texans 31-24. In a game in which the Texans scored 31 points, the Chiefs didn't exclusively lose because Mahomes got injured. Kansas City's run defense remains an absolute disaster, and the Chiefs' pass rush failed to sack Watson once across 42 dropbacks. After throwing for 116 yards -- not a typo -- and a touchdown on the opening drive of the game, though, Mahomes wasn't effective after a second-quarter hit by Benardrick McKinney. I went through the Jaguars, Colts and Texans games and charted Mahomes' performance before and after he injured his ankle. (There were two moments when Mahomes seemed to aggravate the ankle in the Colts game; I used the first as my cutoff point.) The numbers can't really be much clearer. In those three games, he has gone from before the ankle flare-up playing like the greatest quarterback who ever lived to looking more like, well, Andy Dalton: Mahomes' Injury Splits SPLIT BEFORE ANKLE INJURY AFTER ANKLE INJURY Cmp 38 28 Att 55 49 Cmp% 69.1% 57.1% Yds 676 296 Y/Att 12.3 6 TD 5 2 INT 0 1 Rating 141.1 80 There is a report that has suggested Mahomes might be suffering from a high-ankle sprain, which can sideline running backs for weeks but doesn't always keep quarterbacks out of games. Peyton Manning, for one, was able to play through a high ankle sprain during his MVP season in 2013. You don't need me to tell you how different Manning is from Mahomes, of course, and we've repeatedly seen Mahomes sail throws and struggle with his deep accuracy after he injures the ankle. With limited mobility, Mahomes is still a valuable quarterback, but he loses at least some portion of his magic. The way to heal an ankle injury is with rest. It would be great if the Chiefs had a bye, of course, but Kansas City's bye doesn't come until Week 12, meaning he is set to play through this injury for five more games. He's also facing a short week in advance of a trip to Denver for a Thursday night game against the Broncos, who have won two straight after a heartbreaking 0-4 start to the season. Obviously, the Chiefs don't want to go to backup Matt Moore unless absolutely necessary. Mahomes has also been great before aggravating the ankle injury, and he played like a star between Weeks 2 and 4. Given what has happened over the last two weeks, though, wouldn't this be a logical time to consider sitting him for a game in the hopes of getting him right for subsequent starts against the Packers and Vikings? Patrick Mahomes threw for 41 yards in the second half against the Texans, which is the fewest yards he has ever passed for in a single half. Scott Winters/Icon Sportswire Ideally, the Chiefs would want a home game against the Dolphins, for instance, if they were going to sit their quarterback. That's not happening, but given their upcoming schedule, this road game against the Broncos would be the best time to manufacture some downtime for Mahomes in advance of the bye. The Chiefs are 3.5-point favorites at Denver, and while they would certainly become underdogs if Moore got the start, it would still be a winnable contest. An extra week of rest might not heal Mahomes' ankle, but avoiding the short week and getting what amounts to a bye would give the Chiefs the best chance of having their starter healthy for the remainder of the season. Do I think the Chiefs will sit Mahomes? No. I could certainly see them resting him in the second half if they have a big lead or trail by a significant margin in any of their pre-bye games. If Mahomes is still ailing in Week 11 and the Chiefs have a comfortable divisional lead, they could theoretically rest Mahomes against the Chargers and give him a two-week breather in advance of the final five games of the season. For now, though, the Chiefs will likely continue to run him out there and simply hope their star doesn't injure the ankle any further.
  15. Because if they can do a more simple game with Moore then why not Mahomes? You do not take a qb out like Mahomes and insert a guy we for off the street. If Mahomes cant win it what makes you think Moore could with the same team?
  16. Because you dont just give away games. That is lunacy. Hell we lose and Oakland wins they are up on us at that point. I cant believe you would want to make it even easier for a loss? Very perplexing. Every game is critical until we lock it up, I can only see this in a meaningless game at the end when all seeds are set and nothing we do would matter. This is though just game 7 of the season.
  17. I am afraid of this too, and it will cause many to be pissed even more so to lose to the donkeys and horse face. If they do they will be 3-4 and we will be 4-3, effectively letting them back in even though they really do suck. I want so badly to bury them and especially being a division game too. 5-2 for us and 2-5 for them looks much better.
  18. Cant control the lines, you wont win many games. A lot of the battles are decided in the trenches. O line is ranked 31st in run rankings before this game was played. 6th in pass pro, but a lot of that is on Mahomes scrambling and able to get the ball away etc. https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/ol/2019 D line was ranked 31st too. https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/dl/2019 You can see on these links how we run, where they run at etc. Trenches are horrible right now. I understand the LT and LG being out, but it was bad at many of these spots before then. Now throw in the DL injuries and it does not look good for now.
  19. It was a good trade because Hyde was going to be cut anyways. End of that discussion really.
  20. I seriously doubt 10 yards or so was the game changer. Maybe having the ball only 6 minutes the second half, or Mahomes only had 40 yards passing on only 3 drives total? Maybe it was the defense giving up run after run after run etc.....
  21. He had 3 time outs. Reid did not have to try for a huge home run right off the bat. That is my issue. The line could not hold long for a play that deep to get it going.
  22. Reid calling for a bomb before half was not helpful at all. Kneel and go into the half up 17 to 16.
  23. Jones, Hitchens, Williams, Okafor and I believe Fuller went out today then too.
  24. Shit. For a team that was so close to the SB last year....... I keep hearing we need a run stuffing DT. 3xLBs. 2 or 3 CBs, a true LG/C and after cutting Watkins a possible 2nd WR. Now add in the RB? Almost like we are on a full rebuild lol
