  1. i think we should go back to the thread and see who predicted what our record would be for the regular season, but I can't find it. Anyone?
  2. When I think about Butker, I always think of that game in the snow I think two seasons ago, when he tried a 58 yard field goal three times in a row. He made them all, even though one was wiped out by a time out, another when another time out was called as he was kicking in order to "ice" him, but he had kicked it already and made it Then he finally hit it anyway the third time. Three consecutive successful 58 yard kicks in the snow, and he made all three but got credit for only one. The only ice he knows is the stuff in his veins.
  3. I don't understand why Ertz? He is old now, and Noah Gray is a very good receiving TE.
  4. That's like saying we should keep a thief on the payroll at the job site, because after all, he IS a good softball player.
  5. Yeah. I can kick back and eat pizza rolls during the game instead of my fingernails.
  6. If we could have stopped Jeffrey Dahmer from eating people, he might have won the man of the year award.
  7. BTW, if we don't give Mahomes what he needs to be protected and somebody added who can catch the ball, we are simply wasting the talent of the best QB in football. It has been shown that teams with great defenses and ordinary offenses RARELY win the SuperBowl.. We have to win by offense to do that.
  8. Won't happen this year. If it does, I pledge to donate $50 to the coalition as penance for being such a pessimist. By the way, Wiley was twice as good a RT as Jawaan Taylor. Brown was a great run blocker at LT, though a crappy pass blocker...but no worse or better than Wanya Morris is at this point in his career. We also had a healthy McKinnon to pass block at the end of the season and in the playoffs. We also had a firey and knowledgeable offensive coordinator, not the cool and cerebral but uninspiring Nagy. Even with those things, we were extremely lucky winning very close games throughout the season. It was some kind of miracle that we beat the Eagles in the super bowl. So, let's be realistic about last season. We still need to fix the OT's, get another RB, Get at least one really dominant WR who stretches the field, and get a better OC if we want to continue the dynasty.
  9. Exactly right. That's why the "experts" say we are the underdogs against the Chargers. We must do exactly what you say, while the Chargers have nothing to lose by putting their best players in there to get some better feeling or momentum going into the draft. So, they will be putting their best product on the field, and we will not so much. Also if we lose, maybe we will get to be one or two spots higher in each round of the draft. I absolutely pick the Chargers next week for those reasons.
  10. Hey, let's hear it for the Mad Greek. Double digit sacks in only his second season.
  11. Guys, I love the optimism. I really do. But let's be brutally honest. We beat the Bengals by great defense and field goals. We cannot get much farther with Wanya Morris protecting Mahomes' blind side and with Valdez-Scantling getting snaps and supposedly being the only guy who can stretch the field. We are 2 good tackles, two wide receivers, and another good RB from getting to the Super Bowl, much less winning one. Oh, and we need to bring Bienemy back. I almost forgot that.
  12. Ha!!! No wonder I'm disappointed this season. It's the "Curse of Taylor Swift! 💇‍♀️ Bwaaaahaaaa!!! 😱
  13. We can save the dynasty by getting one or two good tackles, getting one big name WR in free agency, keeping as much of the defense intact as possible economically, and by getting rid of Nagy. Reid and Mahomes will do the rest. Its not the end of the world. It is nice having a great defense, but as long as we have Mahomes, this should be an offensive team primarily, even if we have to slip back to middle of the pack defensively.
  14. The lack of McKinnon's blocking really hurt against the Raiders. The two young guys are unlikely to provide that.
  15. Also, regarding a horrible offense, remember the floor is quite high as long as Mahomes is at QB. And with Kelce bracketed all year, it doesn't leave much for Mahomes. Getting a really good and fast WR will also fix Kelce for 2-3 more years. Also, if there is a really fast, elusive RB in the second round, they should go for it. Spectacular catch the previous week or not, CEH is not really going to help this team and needs to go.
  16. I agree with most of that, except the guards comment. When you have two bad tackles against good rushing teams, the guards have to spread out a little more to help chip the tackles. That leaves them more vulnerable on the inside. If you fix the tackles, our guards will be fine.
  17. All the posts here have been about all our mistakes and deficiencies, including my post. But it is important to remember that we lost by 4 points and played a team whose defense played fantastic and inspired football. They were screaming to the ball and played obsessed. They were clearly great and would have been against anyone. They were sick and tired of losing to us 11 times in a row. Give them credit.
  18. He is no different than ever. He is just not confident who is going to be open. If someone is too close, he has to dump it off, scramble himself, throw it away, or force it and risk an interception. His protection is suspect at tackles. But yes. His confidence is down. Of course, so is mine. Whose isn't?
  19. To me, it seems obvious. Jawaan Taylor and Wanya Morris cannot protect Mahomes. He ran for his life, literally, the whole game. Wanya is not ready at best, and Jawaan just sucks. Not even enough time to run the short game. The Raiders did what teams to to QB's who are rookies. Rush the hell out of the passer and take the running game away. We need tackles!!
  20. I really do think we should move up some, at least to get one of the top five. We have to grab one of those prospects (unless they don't grade out). Obviously, those kinds of decisions will not be made at any time except during the draft, itself, as guys are coming off the board. Either way, Veach will be ready with a planned offer for any of those scenarios.
  21. You could be right. I never heard much about him as a blocker.
