  1. At first I didn't get the obvious sarcasm. It's funny how the losing team's fans always do that. Its always the coach. Trevor Lawrence is obviously very talented, but he rapidly lost efficiency in the face of our rush. He is not completely developed yet. HIs first series was scripted. Lawrence got rid of the ball instantly. It seemed less than a second. Once the script ran out and he had to actually read and make decisions who to throw to, it went downhill for him fast.
  2. My take is that two new offensive tackles is a huge change, and it will take half the season to really gel, where everyone knows everyone and are on the same page. That is harder and more intricate than any other feature in the game. Remember how long it took the new line to gel after the loss to the Bucs in the previous Super Bowl. I know these guys will gel. Mahomes will also gradually get synced with these young receivers. Then add Omenihu to the D, and we could have a truly dominant team again. After today, I am not worried at all. The D will help us maintain a solid record until then.
  3. Its going to be beautiful here, as we watch the victory from the comfort of the midwest. Our boys will win the day in that hell hole.
  4. Damn! Might as well not even watch the game.
  5. The price we pay. I'll pay it anytime. If you're gonna be the best, you have to beat everybody's best. If you can't, then you have to draft and develop to be the best again.
  6. It will be a month before he is completely up to speed for him. Before that, he will be merely good. Omenihu will be coming back a couple of weeks after that. It is possible that the defense could be really, really good later in the season.
  7. I thought it was odd. Maybe he thought he would not be recognized.
  8. Thuney is an absolute rock, and The Chiefs are an offensive team. They are less able to lose Thuney.
  9. I think the writing on the wall may have been that white shirt and dark blue hat he had on when he was shown sitting in the stands during the Detroit game with his agents sitting on both sides (who looked like mafia consiglieri). He pointedly was not wearing a chiefs jersey and hat.
  10. Whatever we do, I think it will be schemed for whatever is best against Jacksonville, not for some kind of emotional agenda. The main thing is not to start 0-2...at any cost. At least that is what Andy will do. Patrick, on the other hand, will opt for plays that do what you are looking for', Mex. He is more emotional and competitive, and he may have the itch to just blow up Jacksonville. After looking at the troubles against Detroit, we need to have our fastest receivers to take keep the defenses honest deep and give the young receivers more room to operate and CATCH THE BALL.
  11. So, he signed something that said he would honor his current contract, as long as he is paid more for the last year of it. Just wow! Sounds pretty stupid, but he deserves more money for the last year of his current contract. We'll see how he plays this year. Maybe we trade him for a couple of picks or to move up and pick some AAA grade WR, preferably someone who can catch a pass. I think now that we finally have a solid 2nd level and back end, we can afford not having Jones at tackle.
  12. Breathing is good. (free diving would be an exception, I suppose)
  13. I saw one of the best posts by someone on Arrowhead Pride comments: "If Kadarius Toney batted every ball down to the ground that was thrown his way ......the Chiefs would have won by 6 points."
  14. I would hope that Andy is setting this up. Later in the season, he will totally screw up an opponent by running something totally different out of the same look. It seems that later in the season, Reid is playing mind games one step ahead of everyone else. Creating film. At least I hope. But it all looked like old tired out plays that the Lions has studied well and prepared for. Made me gag.
  15. Of course it's an issue if it continues. It won't. Staying healthy is another matter. By the way, I was ready to strangle him until I gave it some actual thought.
  16. It's not like live action against a real opponent. Remember, one of those drops was when another receiver ran right between him and the ball at a tiny fraction of an instant before the ball got to him. No one's nervous system can re-track a ball coming in fast and re-adjust their eyes and hands that quickly. I'm not worried about Toney's ability to catch the ball. I worried if he can avoid injury for more than a couple of games. The amount of pay he is receiving in his contract has absolutely nothing to do with it, and I know that you know that. You are just pissed. I was pissed at the way everyone played and how it was coached. The only thing truly good was the D.
  17. Receivers catch the ball when they have maintained practice, like anything else. I don't care of you are the best hitter in baseball. If you are not in the cage every day, your batting average goes down. If you are the greatest golfer in the world, you practice constantly, or your handicap goes up. That goes for anything, not just sports. Kadarius Toney should never have been put in that position after missing all of camp and pre-season. He should not have been used as a #1 in that game. That's on Andy or on Nagy. Wishful thinking and not good thinking. It is on the coaching staff. I know Kelce was out, but throw it to someone who practiced all summer and played in the pre-season, for godsakes.
  18. Defense was good, despite no CJ, but they were exhausted at the end. CJ would have made the difference on some of those spirit-killing conversions. Offense wasn't bad except for the lack of communication between Mahomes and the receivers. I think the biggest fault was Reid playing Toney so much. What was he thinking? How could he keep his concentration and catch the damned ball when he had no full-speed reps against good NFL teams throughout the pre-season and is then thrown into the fire? I would pin this loss on Reid's use of receivers and on his simply not knowing who is the best type of receiver for different situations. It will get better. Reid is not usually a dummy.
  19. Thank you for your post. I liked it. It was not a criticism. But it is Labor Day.😄
