I just hope this isn't one of those injury-plagued seasons that puts even the best teams out of contention for a season. If it does, we still have great talent, and we will have a chance to draft higher in each round. The Chiefs have a wide window as long as we have PM at the reins.

I think you are right. Buchele played great and would be worth risking as the backup rather than Gabbert. I also am afraid Buchele would be poached from the PS. I wonder how flexible Andy is about having an experienced backup. I will be interested to see how those two will do against Arizona.

I think Skyy is being hidden pretty much from view until unveiling him when the actual season starts. I have a feeling he is going to be fantastic receiver. He is getting plenty of work in camp and is mastering the system there and in meetings. Others on the team have been raving about him. He will be a threat from any WR position, including deep, but mainly as a Sammy Watkins-type able to exploit too much attention on Kelce...and hopefully less injury prone.

He would be a good backup for a team with a massive running game offensive line, because he is a decent receiver and wouldn't hurt them on the ground much. He played really well. He is a very good, though a little inconsistent, QB.

I'm not panicking until the end of the first real season game. I like to schedule my panic sessions. That way, I am not caught by surprise. Panicking too soon is unbecoming.

Andy's camps are brutal. Nothing held back. 100% from the start. In the long run, it has seemed to work out in our favor. New guys get reps or even an entire season, and the talent can be recognized when it is present. It's not good to waive a young guy who then turns out to be valuable for some other team. I think the Chiefs feel like they can coach up almost any athlete as supporting cast and do it quickly. As long as we have Mahomes and a few top playmakers on both sides of the ball, we are contenders. I liked Nazeeh Johnson. That's too bad.
