  1. Kind of like last year, when the AFC was loading up on great players to knock off the Chiefs?
  2. Everybody uses that term, but all it is are the arm length doubled plus the width of the shoulders. But what does that shoulder width really add to the metric? Nothing significant really. It just describes us as if we are birds or maybe bats. I guess its ok for a Raven or a Cardinal or an Eagle or a Falcon. Actually, that's quite a few. Nevermind.
  3. I hope not, too, but it happened about three times during the Patriot-Brady dynasty. We were lucky, flat out lucky to have gotten to the superbowl, let alone WON it last year. It was an aberration. Half of our games it seemed like were three point victories after coming from behind. In many of them, we were getting whipped up on for most of the games. It could have gone either way in any of them. If it hadn't snowed and messed up the field in Buffalo, Cincinatti would have won, and we would not have been 1st seed. Let's be realistic. Every team has to re-build every year.
  4. Why do we have to describe the "wingspan" of human beings? Isn't arm length good enough?
  5. And you know what they always say: Long arms, long shirtsleeves.
  6. Exactly. I hated to see Saunders go. He was just blossoming. I'm happy for him, though.
  7. You are misinterpreting what he meant by "grasshopper." He was referring to the affectionate nickname given by the master to the apprentice in the old martial arts TV series, "Kung Fu." Basically, it means "show patience, young apprentice, and you will become a master." It isn't a statement of being a complainer or an insult or admonition at all. Anyway, I think JuJu was special in a kind of Frank Clark sense in that he stepped up at critical moments. When games were on the line, he didn't drop balls, had sticky hands, and held that ball in a vice grip that could not be stripped or lead to a fumble. He was the guy needed in the big time clutch moments who could get the ball in tight windows. I think he is more of a loss than what appears on statistics. He was not gaudy, merely a clutch guy who could be relied on. He always looks the ball all the way into his hands even in a crowd and a tense or distracting situation. And he was quietly tough and didn't make mistakes. I think that if you asked Mahomes, that is what he would say about Smith-Schuster.
  8. If it were me, we would still have Elmo Wright.
  9. That would be great. Apparently he is really good at football. Unless he pushed her with a knife or out a window....you know, like we all do in our imaginations
  10. I'm sure they did. But if much is not known what is going to come of it, he certainly has a complete out on his contract in case. But signing it locks him into the Chiefs. He is apparently good enough that it is worth the signing.
  11. With Omenihu, we need to look at the end of the story on Arrowhead Pride. " 'Omenihu was arrested in late January on the suspicion of domestic violence, and he was later released after posting bail. The 49ers said at the time that they felt โ€œvery good about the legal processโ€ taking care of itself, and they allowed Omenihu to continue to play. Nobody has posted about this part of the story here. This just happened in January during the 49ers playoffs. He was released on bail, and the 49ers just ignored it and let him play, and left it up to the the "legal process taking care of itself." Could this have anything to do with his being available? Was his contract up, or was he released? if he was a FA, was he given an offer by the 49ers? If he was released, why? Why is this story written in such a sparse and ambiguous way without mention of it until the very end. All it talks about are things like his football performance and metrics. What do the 49ers know about this incident or where it is going to go legally? Do they have some more inside information? Being in San Francisco, I would guess so. I don't know shit, really, but I do know that we do not even know yet if he is going to be prosecuted. All we know is that he is OUT ON BAIL. Period. That's it. Generally our experiences with domestic abusers on the Chiefs have not been good. Just sayin'. I am very wary about this signing at this point and am not counting on this guy to even play for the Chiefs until the legal process plays out and we find out if it is true or not. Curb your enthusiasm for now.
  12. I never googled a goat. (Well, at least not after they died.) What do you think I am?
  13. Is a geezer someone who just geezes, or is it someone who wheezes and gasps at the same time?
  14. Without Otis Taylor, Dawson would never have been "Lenny the Cool." He would have been "Lenny the decent" or maybe "Lenny the OK." Last season would have been our second super bowl victory, not our third.
  15. We absolutely need to keep him. The kicking game is the great equalizer. With all our expected FA losses this year, we need to give our defense a longer field to stop teams. If we looked at the overall benefit Townsend contributed to the Chiefs in 2022, we should pay him whatever the market determines and then a little more. Sign him long term. A punter like him will do more for a defense than a good edge rusher, as crazy as that might seem. Sign Townsend and get another offensive weapon for Mahomes....that is, unless we want to fall short next season. For Mahomes to be the GOAT, he needs an exceptional tight end, and Kelce needs a little rest now. This is a deep TE class. Take advantage of it.
  16. Makes sense. I didn't see your post, but nice to know the actual estimated amount. I have no idea what those sports franchises make or will make. But you are right. He won't be clipping any coupons, and I am not concerned about his feelings about being listed near the middle tier QB's in salary. He'll be a billionaire.
  17. He may be somewhat happier about the weather in Florida.
