  1. In the long run, it will turn out to be a good thing for a variety of reasons, mostly because our players and coaches will be on the lookout for that mindset and prevent a lazy attitude like it's the plague which might save us a loss or two. It also might lead some teams to try to duplicate Indy's "game plan," which would be fine. I do disagree that it had anything to do with the Bucs. It might have something to do with having 10 days to prepare for Indy, allowing the players more time off and the coaches to think they "have plenty of time." There has to be a more urgent feeling on a team to keep an aggressive attitude. OR, this post could all be bullshit, and it was just a matter of dropping punts, missing passes, and talking shit to a QB after a sack.
  2. I figured that. I just had to reply because I am a dick.
  3. Pretty simple. Turnovers, dropped passes, and stupid penalities. The same thing could happen against the Raiders if we do the same stupid shit.
  4. That would be nice, but I doubt it. Reid's offense is too complex. Even next year might be too soon. Reid goes slow with developing guys like this.
  5. Of course not, but I was referring to the present. Next year, Pacheco could become an awesome receiver and be much like Hunt was.
  6. I have learned a lot from this thread. It's funny, though. A bunch of us doing a critique of Andy Reid who has won 2/3 of all the games he has coached in the NFL or something amazing like that and figure out how he can do things smarter
  7. We had some games with run % in the low to mid 30's.
  8. Hunt was a better downfield receiver than either CEH or Pacheco. The latter are good at receiving, but mostly short to intermediate range. Hunt would take it intermediate range and had huge YAC. So using the "running game" with Hunt more did not really take away from the passing game.
  9. I wouldn't guarantee that yet, but it does prove how running and passing are complementary. I was wondering when Andy was going to start using the run game more. After all, Orlando Brown, Jr. still stinks against speed rushers, but he is still great as a run blocker...so why not run the damn ball? I still think 45% runs is the ideal mix as an average. With Mahomes, maybe 40% runs, but that 35% running percentage has got to permanently stop being the runle. Stopping the run...what a difference a couple of years make! I think our run defense is for real. When teams start respecting that, Spagnuolo's creative blitz packages will start to be really effective as more teams have to increase their passing percentage.
  10. I think we should hone the running game and use it on first down half the time. We have the personnel to do that. Andy Reid needs to do that and convince Mahomes that it is right, even if it doesn't fit Patrick's wild man personality. Mahomes will never be a truly great one until he is willing to shape his playing style to match whatever his current personnel is. Right now, I am beginning to have some doubts about him being flexible in that way. He will have to be, if we expect to be the GOAT. Other teams are exploiting his weaknesses now, without Hill there. And yes, I think Andy is a little mentally not there, probably because of his son's situation.
  11. Despite all the criticism, we lost to a good team at their house and in a desperate situation for them, and the Colts were aided by our dropped punts, a dumb penalty at the end and our ace kicker out and replaced by a poor kicker. The defense played well, but the offense has a bunch of guys not yet in sync. Right now, we just look like another horse in the race and nowhere near super bowl quality, but that could change by mid season. Another 4 games, some gelling and experience from the new guys, and we could return to contender status. Nothing to be panicky about. I still think we should be looking to 2023 as far as true dominance. Mahomes has to learn some new tricks and forget a few old ones (like throwing deep expecting Smith-Schuster to be able to just run under it like Hill did). Juju is just not as fast as Hll. Mahomes needs to use a different higher arc and use JuJu's height advantage on contested catches.
  12. I have wondered why we can't use the run to set up the pass in certain kinds of games. I know that the failed runs were all hand offs too far behind the line of scrimmage. Others have mentioned this before, as well. By the time any running back gets to the line of scrimmage from several steps back, the gaps will have closed. There has to be some kind of heavy game where the RB can take the ball from from a QB under center. We can still be a pass first team but at least have that other capability when it is needed.
  13. I feel that all the time. When my wife bought me a do-it-yourself book, I knew it was time to take matters into my own hands.
  14. How is it possible that a thread named, "Gay suspended for 4 games," would devolve into a maelstrom of penis jokes?
  15. Did you hear about the flasher who decided to retire? Well, he changed his mind and decided to stick it out for another year.
  16. Yes. I would also like to see what he says about the Denver Geldings so far.
  17. You misinterpreted what I wrote. I am agreeing. Its the same reason he would be better in open space as a receiver, as well. I want to see him more in that role, just like CEH. His pass protection skills are better in open space, too. He has the speed and size to stop rushers coming from the outside. Maybe some day, once he learns how to read the little creases forming on a little delay, he can be a short yardage guy and line up closer to the LOS. But that isn't where he shines right now.
  18. California is an incredible and diverse place. Gigantic. And produces half of all the shit you eat and nearly all the entertainment you enjoy. So, you have probably already been wiping that digested food from California off your ass. I would hope you don't use a belt sander, or you would be using it a lot. Talk about condemning and passing judgement on an entire gigantic state!! Does that really make sense to you? At least the Raiders left, though. That makes California already better.
  19. I haven't seen that video, but it looks like he threw the first punch. She must have said something mean to him.
  20. "The Virgin Choirboys". What a great name for a team! What city or college will have that team? And would a player get kicked off the team if he got laid? Can churches have a team? Notre Dame already has a team, but they should be called "The Hunchbacks."
  21. The blood clotting issue is not an overreaction. A clotting tendency may not show itself a second time quickly. It can take a few or several years before it re-occurs. Remember, it was spontaneous. This shows up in young adult males, especially. The severity is dependent on the number of gene deletions for the one of the natural inhibitors of clotting. Trey Smith will never be safe from this risk. I said that at the time, because it is true. I stick with it now, because it is true. There are a huge number of things I don't know much about, but clotting and bleeding disorders are not one of them. I keep my fingers crossed with him.
  22. The lying may have been the main thing with Hunt , But to me, kicking the crap out of a woman is reason enough. Remember, he has missed quite a few games for what they called "mental issues." That makes me think he has a real, long term problem. We read every day about people who behave like this multiple times, are not held to account, and then end up killing a spouse or girlfriend. Not saying this will happen, but it is a well-known sequence with hot-headed abusers. And women are rightly terrified. Sure, women have learned to exert more control by finding and pushing the right buttons. The man's responsibility is to simply not react. It takes a long time to teach oneself that, and relationship skills are harder to learn than learning to play football, if your upbringing was not ideal.
