  1. You make good points, except that my interpretation depends entirely on how the defense is playing it. Defenses have been playing Mahomes to pass on first down the majority of the time. The two deep defense is to take away the deep passes and take Hill out of the picture, with LB's dropping back to neutralize Kelce, if possible. So, how do you stop that defense? By passing? Look Adam, I respect your opinions, but you completely are discounting what defenses have been doing. They have to pay the price for taking away the pass first and foremost. They don't believe we are going to run the ball on first down. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. All I am saying is that 2nd and 5 makes everything work, and our new road graders on the line and CEH back in action gives us an opportunity to make them pay. The time is now.
  2. CEH is averaging over 5 yards and a cloud of dust, isn't he?
  3. Pressure on Mahomes. As this line continues to develop together, combined with their skills individually, I see these problems declining markedly. The biggest thing for me is the continued overuse of passing plays on first downs. 2nd or 3rd and short solves all kinds of problems. With CEH back and our beasts at run blocking, our running game should be utilized far more than it is on early downs. So, that play-calling I believe will clearly make this offense return to dominance. Mahomes also needs to trust his secondary receivers more...well, Hardman not so much. I'm thinking of Pringle right now. Mahomes seems to focus too much on his primary targets. With his vision and brain processing, he should do better at throwing more often to his alternatives.
  4. He was just taken off injured reserve from his week 2 ankle injury. I doubt he will be 100% for a few more weeks.
  5. He has stated using it early in games, but when things get heated up, he abandons it and wants to shoulder the weight of the team. He needs to discipline himself. It will get a little better each game. But inside he will always want to be the gunslinger.
  6. They will end up being even more tired. All of the teams have been game planning for a weak Chiefs defense and trying to simply outscore us. But we have tranformed into a team with an excellent defense. And if Mahomes is willing to use the short game and running game (something no team has game planned for) we can control the clock. Those two things can break the Broncos hearts once again. Also, I don't think Chubb will be ready to play much.
  7. Yes. They should all be dressed the same during any game. I agree. That's why they call them uniforms.
  8. The biggest unknown is always the same: What major injuries will occur? No way to forecast or calculate that. All the rest of these calculations are negligible compared to that.
  9. Do you really think the uniform colors have an impact on how well we play? Seriously?
  10. I did read that story. I suppose it does make a couple of them look like the Pillsbury Doughboys. I suppose they could replace it with muscle, but I sure wouldn't say that to their faces. I wonder if they ask their wives "does this dress make me look fat?" I think they should just STFU and play ball. Personally, I like white when it gets all caked with mud. It makes them look mean.
  11. For some odd reason, I don't think uniform colors change anything. Playing better than the other guys definitely does.
  12. I never read that Niang's ribs were broken. Bruised ribs hurt, but shouldn't take more than a few weeks. I never read that Remmer's knee was anything more than a sprain. No ligament damage. If so, I would guess he will miss the first game after the bye, but that's about it. Three weeks was the report I read after his injury.
  13. Yeah. If you go back, I had edited that immediately. I was trying to say Reid and the offensive system. You might be right, though. But I think he was signed, I think, out of a kind of desperation to improve the line. That was before the draft and before seeing how good our draftees would be. He was always a "long" shot. A hope that he could become what he was once without taking a huge financial risk. Things looked a lot bleaker when he was obtained. I would be happy if he turned out to be a reliable backup piece on the O line, but my guess is that he will be among the first to be waived after the season. I do recall how excited everyone seemed about him on this forum and took it as a foregone conclusion that he would be a starter. I have great doubts we will see him at all this year...and possibly ever.
  14. It would seem that either Remmers or Niang should be back in two weeks. For all practical purposes, Long hasn't played for two years, and before that, he was injury prone. He has no muscle memory for playing in Spags' system, even though he has been at meetings. If you are counting on Long, I would like a hit of whatever it is you are smoking. We'll be OK. Wylie or not, we held the vaunted Cowboys offense to three field goals with Wylie in there.
  15. "On any given Sunday." That being said, Chiefs will win. I don't think the Donks will have any answer for us. No team is really prepared to play a Mahomes-led team that also has a very good defense. That gives the Chiefs just too many possessions.
  16. Speaking of Creed Humphrey. Wow! What a great draft. Veach hit the jackpot in the draft with him and Smith. Signing Thuney and Brown. Our O-line has gone from a sieve in the Superbowl to what is now being recognized as one of the best in the NFL (except for Wylie).
  17. Belly's are terrifying. Sometimes I'm "flab"bergasted, especially when I go to a Walmart.
  18. The guy sports that version of a Mahomes haircut, the inverted stove-pipe or whatever it is. On Mahomes, it looks cool. On Smith, it looks utterly terrifying. Of course, on Smith, anything looks utterly terrifying...especially if he is the guy across from you. A great team needs a few guys like that, penalties or not.
  19. Each AND every week? I just thought it would be each week or maybe every week, but not both. (I love it, too.)
  20. That's what I would say. With the young guys developing, we need him there.
