  1. You're right. There were about 4 MINOR injuries. No serious injuries. I should have never relied on a single source.
  2. Someone did get seriously injured, but what difference does it make anyway? Should the penalty be determined by the luck of any other car passengers on the road or by the act itself? It's the same act. The result was different - personal injury rather than involuntary manslaughter, but that is a legal issue, civil versus criminal, not an issue in the NFL organization (or shouldn't be). But, yes. Probably 8 game suspension. But what if they found a gun or guns in the car, or scheduled drugs? Maybe an intent to harm is the difference? I don't know. The Chiefs are pretty intolerant of looking publicly irresponsible.
  3. Chiefs are already much better with Wentz instead of Gabbert. Good signing. More depth at QB is a big damn deal. I knew we were going to need someone else, but Wentz is a great QB. This assumes all of his injuries are healed.
  4. What do you think would happen if people had died in the accident? Involuntary manslaughter. The Chiefs are not going to allow it. They let Kareem Hunt walk, no further questions asked. Chiefs won't put up with it. The Chiefs front office and ownership will kick him out. Afterall, he damaged a Corvette, which is bigger deal than a vacuum cleaner.
  5. Money will get you probation, but not avoid a conviction. So far in this country, bribing a jury is still a crime.
  6. The Chiefs organization is indebted to Rice for doing this BEFORE the draft. Good timing.
  7. His "thoughts are with everyone impacted" Mostly him. He is impacted a lot. I am assuming he was the driver of the Corvette when I write this, but charges would include speeding, reckless driving, and leaving the scene of an accident. Those three obvious crimes have penalties enhanced by "reckless disregard for the life of others." Here is an explanation from MyLawQuestions.com : "when someone acts with reckless disregard, they commit an act they know is probably illegal and that could harm people, but they don’t have an actual intent to harm a person or people. " https://www.mylawquestions.com/what-is-reckless-disregard.htm I would say that he would do prison time followed by some supervised release, and it could all be pretty lengthy. Maybe 2 years? It could be further enhanced if he had drugs on board. I wonder if he was hiding to allow time for any blood levels to decline. Anyway, the only question is whether he was driving. If he was, then we are looking for another receiver as high as we can find one. In my opinion, he is done as a Chief. Sad for him and his teammates and the whole organization. Sad for us.
  8. When the Chiefs get "the facts," I hope they share his whereabouts with the police.
  9. Yeah. Better to say nothing than the usual meaningless drivel they release when they don't definitely know something for sure.
  10. Is there a way for the Combine to include a test for, and give a rating for, emotional and mental maturity? It would be more useful than "wingspan." I guess if they need to use avian references, there should be a "bird brain index."
  11. Wouldn't that be something if he became our next Tyreek Hill? How about him on kickoff returns under the new rule? Seems like he can catch the ball well and run very fast with it, with elusiveness.
  12. Are kidding me? That is one of Reid's designed plays. He will save it for the Super Bowl. Then he will spike the ball, and the fans will all yell, "Slam it, Zammit." Reid will name the play, "Woopsie Doopsie Dog."
  13. I'm interested in him. There have been a number of rugby players who have been recruited into the NFL and been successful. One pic from one angle showed Rees-Zammit to have amazingly strong looking legs. His abductors looked gigantic. He could be really good at RB it would seem, if he has the vision and burst. It would be hard to stop him if he hits the right gap. That video shows potential with his ball handling. And if he screws up a play, fans could yell, "Dammit, Zammit!"
  14. Veach is just trying to save money on helmets.
  15. He sure played well here when he was called upon. Very accurate passer.
  16. Sounds like a good plan, but a long-term high quality prospect at LT probably just as wise. We need an experienced jouneyman at backup QB. I don't have any confidence in Gabbert at all. I'd love to see Nick Foles back. Isn't he a FA? And he knows our system.
  17. Overpaid. Pretty pedestrian. Has the dropsies.
  18. It used to, now it pulls hard right. That's why I am trying to find some sucker who will buy it.
  19. I have a used one. Italian I think. Has some transmission problems, though. I'll sell it to you cheap.
