  1. I thought he was in there on several plays. Am I confused?
  2. The answer to the puzzle is probably long-range thinking. Veach has a lot of say. As long as they are winning, might as well get some other guys the visibility to use them in trades. Gay will be ready mentally after full OTA's, camp, and pre-season.
  3. How the hell did we get such a great coaching staff? Young guys have consistently played well often on one week preparation. We are seeing them and Veach out there on the field.
  4. Considering the situation, they all did "ok," except for Fisher, who looked terrible. Must have been his back. But Mahomes was sacked or hit on quite a few plays that were instead due to the outstanding coverage the Saints showed in the secondary. So many of our targets were just plain covered. Saints did a very good job against Kelce and Hill. Very fast and aggressive guys like sharks. We couldn't get around the edge at all on screens and didn't even try except for Hill once. They were out for blood. Mahomes exploited that some. It shows how good we are to have won anyway. I was a wreck when Mahomes got sandwiched. That could have been the end us in 2020. BTW, we would have lost the game without Watkins. HIs few receptions were absolutely key. Durant was pretty amazing considering he is a developmental guy who hasn't played. I thought so, anyway. Gotta give credit to the D. They REALLY played well. They were committed to stop Karmara, and they did. Sneed was fantastic. A star is being born before our eyes.
  5. He is a kid who did not even have a real camp or pre-season games. He is as raw as hell. OTA's, training camp, and pre-season games next season will put him in as a solid starter. The complaints are ridiculous. It's like giving up on a 5th grader for not knowing his calculus.
  6. I would never bet against the Chiefs with Mahomes at QB. But I have a sad feeling we are going to lose this one. A team's A game against a team already guaranteed to have a home game in the playoffs with both starting tackles out and just trying to get some kinks worked out in advance of the playoffs looks like an Rx for a loss to me. (I don't think they are going to let Fisher play much. They need him to be 100% for the playoffs. I hope I'm wrong. Also, the Saints are coming off a loss and are at home. They want confidence restored when going into their playoffs. Just my thoughts. But Mahomes never ceases to astonish me. Saints are just more motivated and healthier on the lines. Saints by a touchdown. Maybe more.
  7. It sure does. By the time you get to a physical therapist, they teach you never to bend down and turn at the same time. Well, shit. That's what you have to do on the O-line and D-line. They just don't tell you that the consequences won't show up for some years. By that time, it's too late.
  8. Weight is weight, whether it is made of fat or muscle. The bones and discs and ligaments of the spine have to support that weight. These guys weigh 300 lb and and bending, turning, and trying to push their bodies and the bodies of another 320 pounder at the same time. It can be done until you are about 30. Then the consequences set in.
  9. I've always wondered why we say a tackle "slides inside" rather than "moves to the inside." It seems like all other positions move rather than slide. Just wondering.
  10. If anyone knows how bad it is, it would be Reid. Veach knows his job. Clark Hunt is not the kind of guy who will spend a half a billion dollars without protecting it.
  11. Thanks for the info. What a mess! They are sure in no shape to find a new GM right now.
  12. Chiefs by 7. It would be more, but they will start resting guys for the harder games to come. Chiefs seem to do just what is necessary to win. No more, no less.
  13. I'm not sure about Alegretti at this point. He doesn't seem to have the body habitus of someone who can get quickly out in space in the running game. Maybe I'm wrong. (Maybe Reid can deslign a trick play that requires the center to do a back flip at the snap). He should grow into being a great pass protector on obvious passing downs. I want to see him grow into becoming an asset in the running game. Helaire needs some gaps.
  14. Plus, I have a lot of faith in Veach regarding those extra compensatory picks. In the high rounds, OL and DL seem to be the areas of major need. Also LB, since Niang was a high pick and should be available for the OL
  15. I think it is very hard to judge any player, or any of us for that matter, during this very weird and disturbing year. These guys have been especially isolated. If someone has played well in the past and not this year, it would seem to be really wise to see how they do next season before making any major decisions. I am amazed there has been any season at all. We owe them a lot for helping us keep our sanity. "Help is on the way." 😁
  16. Absolutely. I've missed you, OT. I'll try to visit often. I'm staying well...physically LOL
  17. We get a first round draft choice for peanuts. He will be at least "good :after he learns Spags system. Potential to be top 15 at some point. Veach is the best GM the Chiefs have ever had. It also helps to have a world champion team that everyone wants to play for.
  18. I agree totally about running QB's. Only dominant for a few years, and then injuries and slowing happen. His game depends on it. Mahomes is a once-in-a-generation talent and has not only the arm, vision, and instincts, but the intelligence and mental processing quickness and defense reading abilities that are otherworldly. He is also a total leader and is inspirational on the field and in community relations. I know nothing about Jackson's intelligence. It might be just as amazing as Mahomes, but Mahomes has used his great intellect to incorporate the mind and playbook of Andy Reid. I would take Mahomes in virtually any category. I suffered for decades waiting for the Chiefs to draft a dominating QB, but never in a million years did I think we would land someone who likely will turn out to be the greatest of all time.
  19. That's true. Of course, our D was just learning Spag's system and did not jell until the second half of the season. That could be a major reason why opponents were able to score early on us. After all, with Mahomes, every team had a desperate game plan to get off to an early lead against our supposedly helpless defense or fall hopelessly behind. So, they threw the book at us early in games. By midseason, teams could not really accomplish that anymore (except in the playoffs LOL, but those were the really, really good offenses). It all paid off in the end, didn't it? I think it helped us learn Spag's system quicker. It also help hone the offense's mindset to have confidence throughout the late part of games that they would prevail, no matter what. That sure proved itself in the playoffs.
