The Kansas City Chiefs pass rush has yet to show up in any real way so far in the 2021 season. Given the losses up front along the offensive line for the Philadelphia Eagles, however, they might have a real shot at disrupting the quarterback in Week 4. The Eagles learned before the game that starting right tackle Lane Johnson will be inactive for the game, due to personal matter. Before the game, it was also clear that starting left tackle Jordan Mailata was also going to miss his second consecutive game to injury. That leaves the Eagles thinner up front than expected (and they were already dealing with injuries to the likes of Brandon Brooks, and Jack Driscoll will start for the first time in ’21 on Sunday.

The Chiefs could promote Josh Gordon to the roster for Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills. Head coach Andy Reid, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and others have been nothing but positive about the acquisition and what they’ve seen so far from Gordon. What is clear is that he is immediately one of the team’s biggest pass catchers and occupies a potentially important spot as a reliable, physical target who must be respected by opposing defenses who get too keyed in on Travis Kelce at tight end or Tyreek Hill at wide receiver. While the report is positive, it’s also important to note that due to injuries and suspensions, Gordon has played a total of 33 games since the end of the 2013 season—yes, that’s 2013. Gordon’s talent has always been there, but availability has been the issue. Can Kansas City create a different atmosphere around him? That remains to be seen.

Hard to get fixed without surgery. I have had it and after 8 months of nursing it had surgery. Wasnt Mahomes injury turf toe?

I think Gay is going to be out for an extended period of time. Turf toe is a difficult injury to get over. Where's Willie Gay Jr.? Well, the injury report still does not include Gay (toe), as he remains on injured reserve. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid didn't have much to say about his status when asked early Wednesday afternoon. Gay did not have a helmet on at practice, so it seems the Chiefs are still very much bringing him along.

“Brett always keeps his eyes open for good players; Josh is a good player,” Reid told reporters. “I think we all know that. He’s worked hard on his situation, making sure it was right; he’s been reinstated by the league, which was an important step. We welcome him aboard.” One player that could be positively affected the most by the addition is quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Without having worked with him at practice yet, Mahomes was intrigued by Gordon’s history: he was once a first-team All-Pro wide receiver. “Everywhere he’s been, he’s kind of dominated,” Mahomes recalled with reporters during his Wednesday press conference. “It’s definitely exciting... he can make plays in one-on-one coverage, and I’m excited to have him here with us.”

I think KC see this as just another option. May help in the red zone. Additional depth.

Im not the authority you are. What I see is a team that does not come close to stopping the run. So there are some guys that really suck. Plenty of room on this roster to make some changes. Does not have to be a starter, not to mention a starter is one play away from IR.

Everyone is speculating. I did not say Andy is not good. I think he is over rated and not a genius. I think Mahomes would have better numbers with the Rams, Niners and Tampa Bay. Those teams actually run the ball. Those teams have decent defenses. But what do I know? See my avatar for insight.

Its todays NFl the difference between 5th and 10th is not much. I dont care about #1 or #5. That fantasy football BS. Yards this yards that is just talking head topics. Smith was a good QB also. I think Reid never won a playoff with Smith. Smith had a year he did not throw a TD to a receiver. Mahomes makes the difference.

Its Mahomes and not so much Andy. I alsoi think there are teams that Mahomes would put up even better numbers with.

In todays NFL those numbers are good but not exceptional and Mahomes could put those up with most teams. I think REID is over rated as some great guru and innovative genius. I think Reid is a great leader of men and that is his greatest strength. KC plays around too much on offense. Passing to tackles on the goal line. Thats EGO not the best judgement.

Is he better than the worst linebacker on this team? He had 100 tackles last season. Would have led KC.
