  1. I think KC is being extra careful with Baker.
  2. Chiefs declared OL Austin Blythe, CB DeAndre Baker, DE Joshua Kaindoh, OG Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, and WR Daurice Fountain inactive for Week 2 against the Ravens. Blythe remains sidelined after August core muscle surgery. The Chiefs are relatively healthy going into Week 2.
  3. I dont prefer Sunday Night except being a spotlight game should keep KC focused.
  4. Chiefs seem to play down to the other teams level which will keep this game close. 33-30 Chiefs. Lamar, its all up to me, Jackson , has a huge day running the ball.
  5. Im adjusting my expectations. Salary Cap will force KC to be offense first and fill in defense. I like the way the NFL creates real competition not based on unlimited spending. MLB has never come close.
  6. With the injuries to their secondary this season, the Ravens needed the pass rush to make a huge statement tonight. Instead, the corners were constantly burnt by Darren Waller and co. because they were left on an island for too long. Derek Carr was too comfortable in the pocket finding open receivers. Even with the Ravens playing Cover 0, they still couldn’t get enough pressure on Carr. The pass rush has been a huge issue for the Ravens since Terrell Suggs left. Many felt that was the last piece needed to complete this defense. Now with Marcus Peters down, the team is more susceptible to big plays down the field in their man coverage schemes. If they don’t find a way to win 1-on-1 matchups, their defense could take a huge dip in the rankings this season.
  7. 2. Ravens pass rush was nonexistent The Ravens’ pass rush was nonexistent against the young Las Vegas Raiders front. That is very alarming because they were already without one of their starters in Richie Incognito. While Lamar Jackson was pressured on over 50 percent of his dropbacks, Derek Carr was only pressured on 20 percent of his throws. That is a disastrous statistic for the Ravens because they were blitzing Carr all night while the Raiders mostly only sent a four-man front after Jackson.
  8. 1. Ravens pass protection was abysmal The Ravens’ offensive line could not protect Lamar Jackson tonight. Every time he went to drop back, he either had to step up immediately or scramble because there was a Raiders defender right in his face. As a result, Jackson was sacked three times and fumbled twice including the costly one in overtime that sealed the game. Honestly, if it wasn’t for Jackson’s athletic ability, he would’ve been sacked at least 10 times. According to Next Gen Stats, the Raiders pressured Lamar Jackson on 54.5 percent of his dropbacks. No offense will be successful when the quarterback is under that much pressure. Alejandro Villanueva had a very poor game on Monday night. It seemed like every Raiders defender that lined up against him was eventually in the backfield. Maxx Crosby was the main culprit having five quarterback hits and two sacks. Yannick Ngakoue also gave Ronnie Stanley fits. It was Stanley’s first game back since that horrible ankle injury from last season so he is still getting his feet wet. The Ravens better hope that he regains his Pro Bowl form soon.
  9. Ronnie Stanley, LT The marriage between the Baltimore Ravens and Orlando Brown Jr. never had to turn sour. The only problem was that there was a third party that kept Brown from becoming a long-standing legend with the same franchise that his father also manned the front line for so long with such excellence. Instead of following in dad’s footsteps, Ronnie Stanley was already the subject of the Ravens’ affections. Given the costs, and Browns’ positional demands to play the left side, there was no way forward for both parties. We all know how that turned out. In fact, it’s a major storyline heading into the weekend—Brown facing his former employers—as the Chiefs now appreciate the presence of Brown on the left side themselves. But it turns out that the Ravens are still waiting for their own left tackle to return to form. Stanley went down with a season-ending ankle injury last season that required surgery and significant rehab. Stanley struggled in Week 1 and the Ravens kept him out of practice on Wednesday in order to help accelerate that process (and not aggravate anything in the meantime). However, a new report has surfaced saying the Ravens are now backing him off even further. The truth is that the Ravens had a hard time keeping Lamar Jackson upright or unhurried all night against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 1, and Chris Jones must be licking his chops at the thought of Alejandro Villanueva as the best offensive tackle in play. Frank Clark also returns at the right time himself.
  10. Raiders had pressure on like 50% with just four rushing most of the time. I think KC front is much better than the Raiders and now Staley will be out. I see Jackson with his head down looking to do it all by himself.
  11. https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2021/9/16/22676381/chiefs-orlando-brown-jr-on-week-1-vs-browns-i-have-to-play-betterravens-homecoming-zeus-nfl Left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. has excellent offensive line play in his name — literally. His father was a starting right tackle for nine seasons in the NFL. As a result, high expectations are placed on Junior. Even while he transitions to the left side from playing right tackle for most of his three NFL seasons, there are sky-high expectations for him right out of the gate in 2021. So when he surrendered a career-high five pressures — including a quarterback hit and a sack — in Week 1, it was disappointing for Chiefs fans. The encouraging thing is Brown feels the same way you do. “Flat out — I have to play better,” he told reporters during a press conference on Wednesday. “I’m here to dominate no matter who I’m going against or whatever the circumstance is. I have to play better, and I will.” It’s the best answer you can expect from a player at that moment. Brown could have mentioned how he’s still adjusting to more of a pass-heavy offense than the run-reliant scheme he ran with the Baltimore Ravens. He could have mentioned the fact that he faced Myles Garrett — one of the best defensive players in the NFL. Brown instead held himself to a higher standard — and moved forward by explaining how constant the dialogue is between him and quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The underlying message is that his play will improve the more communication he has with his signal-caller.
  12. NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports the Ravens are "preparing" to be without LT Ronnie Stanley (ankle) in Week 2 against the Chiefs. Veteran free agent pickup Ali Villanueva, who struggled immensely in Week 1, will slide to left tackle with backup Patrick Makari stepping in on the right side of the line; this after LG Tyre Phillips was moved to injured reserve mid-week. Baltimore already struggled to protect Lamar Jackson on Monday night, permitting the league's seventh-highest rate pressure rate while allotting three sacks on as many blitzes. With Chiefs DE Frank Clark practicing in full ahead of Week 2, the Ravens clearly need to make adjustments quickly or watch their season sink down the drain
  13. The #Raiders, I'm told, have filed a complaint with the league about all the dirty hits on receiver Hunter Renfrow in Monday night's game. Patrick Queen was called for one, but the Raiders compiled video of several after-the-play and away-from-the ball hits.
  14. Chiefs confirm Frank Clark, Tyrann Mathieu will practice Wednesday The two Kansas City starters who were held out of Sunday’s game will be back on the practice field. “No injuries. [Wednesday], everybody will practice,” said Reid.
  15. Everyone? I dont see everyone all over this guy. Just some discussion and several in full support.
  16. So you are thinking KC & Spags wont make adjustments?
  17. He looked really bad last night at RT against the Raiders. So there is that.
  18. The difference is I dont and I get that. Im just a fan. To say KC had no other choices is wrong. I did not say the move was wrong. I said I dont like it. Even if Brown plays great, and I hope he does, its still not a move I like. Here is the critical point. Who gives a shit what I think? You can prove my points wrong all day long. Not difficult. Last time I checked nobody on this forum is consulted by KC. Nobody on this board knows what conversations KC is having about who, what, when why or how. Im not whining. I just gave my worthless opinion. Final Point. I did not say he played poorly Sunday. That was never my point.
  19. What do you think they would say? Oline played fine but what KC says publicly is always class vs objective.
  20. I dont know enough to say get this guy or that guy. I trust Kc decisions are way better than my BS. There were more options. Maybe even more trade options. None of us know. I simply object to picks and then big contracts. They could have kept the pick and drafted a guy. To say there were no other options is simply not the case.
  21. Love a win for sure. I actually think Cleve gave KC this game more than Kc won it.
  22. There were lots of other avenues that could have been pursued. Several teams replaced their LT. I will root for Brown but this team is getting top heavy in salaries plus loss of picks. Paying Brown vs Matheu or other contract years approaching. Signing a free agent is better than trading picks and paying BIG. See Frank Clark.
