  1. Yes I agree but cant pay everyone top dollar. He is earning 19 million this year. Chiefs are very top heavy and need to sign THAT LEFT TACKLE THEY JUST TRADED FOR.
  2. I think its risky based on his past two ACL injuries on each leg. Age + Injuries = Berry. Time to move on or franchise for one more year.
  3. I dont think its a bargain. I did not expect him to sign a BARGAIN DEAL. In the NFL each contract sets a new high. Yes Mahomes is a fantastic QB. I think there are a half dozen or so QBs that would play just as well in KC. Mahomes is a top 5 but not head & shoulders above the other top 10.
  4. Brett Veach cast some doubt about a return. Will the Kansas City Chiefs re-sign Tyrann Mathieu? Veach is right. The NFL salary cap creates some issues for Kansas City. The cap dropped in 2021 due to a $4 billion revenue hit caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. But the Chiefs spent significant money to overhaul the offensive line this spring and the 2022 salary cap will rise significantly thanks to $100 billion TV contracts.
  5. Lucas Niang remained the first-team right tackle, with Mike Remmers continuing his reps as the second-team left tackle. Mike Hughes also kept his position at right outside cornerback in the nickel, with Deandre Baker at left cornerback and Rashad Fenton at right cornerback on the second team. After practice, head coach Andy Reid had two key notes: first, he confirmed that offensive lineman Kyle Long indeed had surgery to repair his left tibia, and he outlined the plan for the Chiefs’ second preseason game, set to take place this Friday in Arizona against the Cardinals.
  6. I think Buchele has real promise to replace Henne next year.
  7. Looks good. I think Long has to be on the 53 to be added to IR. If you are correct then Allegretti or Wylie might get a 6 or 7 round pick?
  8. The defensive line-offensive line drills continue to be highly entertaining, with the feature matchup being Chris Jones and Trey Smith. Both took turns winning reps on Tuesday, with Jones tossing Smith on one turn — only for Jones to end up on his back on the next rep. Jones and Smith appear to be two of the best in their respective positions in the NFL; it is still amazing Smith fell to the sixth round. Other standouts in this look were Nick Allegretti, Joshua Kaindoh, Niang and Saunders.
  9. Toub also said he’s expecting to see good things from wide receiver Darrius Shepherd — the former Blue Springs High School player who averaged 18.7 yards per kickoff return during two seasons with the Green Bay Packers. “He’s a solid catcher,” observed Toub. “I can count on him. He’s going to catch the ball great — [I’m] talking punt returns. He didn’t get an opportunity on kick returns. We’re going to try and get him one this week. But he’s a solid catcher; he gets north and south. [But] I still want to see that burst — you know, the ‘NFL burst.’ You want to see that. And he’ll probably get opportunities this week.”
  10. Pete Sweeney @pgsween Nick Allegretti continues to get second-team center reps here and there. Austin Blythe at RG. I wonder if they’re going to keep one or the other there.
  11. Should be interesting to see who survives. I trust Veach is pursuing many options.
  12. Prediction. D Rob will be cut or traded. Invisible in camp.
  13. @mattderrick With Clark and Nnadi out, Chiefs running with Alex Okafor and Mike Danna on the edge, Chris Jones and Jarran Reed inside.
  14. Great and fun OL vs. DL battles up front during this one-on-one session. Chiefs rookie RG Trey Smith stonewalled Chris Jones on first block, then Jones got the better of Smith on next repetition with a power rush, got under Smith’s pads and tossed the mammoth rookie.
  15. Defensive end Frank Clark looks to have pulled up a little funky on that hamstring on his initial one-on-one rep. Slowly walking to trainers’ tent Pete Sweeney @pgsween Mike Danna gets the first defensive end nod off the bench with Frank Clark off. Well deserved given the camp he’s had. #Chiefs
  16. Ryan - Locked On | Athletic Matrix™ | RGR Football @RyanTracyNFL Heard Jody Fortson name called multiple times by coaches.... in a positive way. Great catch on a pivot across the middle for Mahomes to come back to. Beat LB and S
  17. Pete Sweeney @pgsween Nick Allegretti continues to get second-team center reps here and there. Austin Blythe at RG. I wonder if they’re going to keep one or the other there.
  18. Pete Sweeney @pgsween Juan Thornhill getting some reps with first-team defense now. Other item to note, still Lucas Niang at RT.
  19. Who? Pete Sweeney @pgsween Defensive back Zayne Anderson gets an opportunity with the first team to start 11s. #Chiefs
  20. I like Allegretti and he plays center. It will be interesting. Who knows maybe a 4th or 5th for a guy like LDT?
  21. He may accept a trade vs a bench seat. He is a free agent next season so he needs to show something.
  22. Current usage no big deal. Lots of options for back up guards. Oline is versatile. At some point a couple of decent guys will get cut unless there are injuries.
