  1. Agree. Not to mention sometimes you simply have an off day as a team. Thats why undefeated is almost impossible.
  2. Every team has some bad contracts. I think a SB win negates it and an appearance not so much. What say you? My issue with the Clark contract is more the picks also given up in a trade. Thats a lot to pay for a SB Win but I dont think KC gets the win without Clark.
  3. Does a Super Bowl appearance or win forgive a bad contract for K.C. Chiefs? If you want to build a championship roster in the NFL, then one thing you’re almost certainly going to have to do is spend big money to acquire players through free agency or trade that will hopefully get your team over the hump at one point or another. However, sometimes teams give players more money than they probably deserve in the heat of the moment because they’re so determined to add talent and add it sooner rather than later. When teams do this, it can either end up paying off or it could end up hindering the team for years to come. In the case of the K.C. Chiefs, they were able to win a Super Bowl despite paying big bucks to players like Anthony Hitchens, Sammy Watkins, Frank Clark, etc. and those three just mentioned are who most fans think of when you ask them who on the Chiefs has/had a bad contract. Sure those players have come on at different points, but they haven’t been consistently elite. Regardless, does a Super Bowl win—or even an appearance—excuse a bad contract by a team? Unfortunately, It’s more complicated than a simple yes or no. https://arrowheadaddict.com/2021/03/21/super-bowl-appearance-win-forgive-contract-kc-chiefs/
  4. Free agent Melvin Ingram will visit the Chiefs next week. The Chiefs are the first team to show interest in Ingram after he had two separate stints on IR last year. He'll need to prove he's over his knee issues, but Ingram would give the Chiefs an impact pass rusher if he's healthy. 31-year-old Ingram has spent the last nine seasons with the Chargers. Signing with the Chiefs would allow Ingram to stay in the AFC West.
  5. . Too early to say. Veach has a plan A,B and C. I doubt Veach & Co. put a lousy player or rookie at LT. All options still available.
  6. I am not concerned with this process. Long is also a nice addition. I think Fisher or Schwarts will be back. Maybe both. I doubt Niang , or any rookie, will start at tackle. So the line depth is already greatly improved. Ideally KC will ad one more veteran in free agency.
  7. Bengals signed LT Riley Reiff, formerly of the Vikings. The Bengals are beefing up their offensive line after watching Joe Burrow run for his life through much of his rookie campaign. Reiff was graded by Pro Football Focus as the league's 20th best pass blocking tackle in 2020. Reiff allowed a single sack last year in Minnesota. There's a chance Reiff, 32, could be moved to right tackle as a replacement for Bobby Hart, a likely salary cap casualty.
  8. All of the above. No need to worry. All options are still open. DWBH
  9. Bears released CB Kyle Fuller. This move is why "the salary cap is a myth" is misleading. The Bears didn't want to release their top corner, but they are in cap hell and need the space to sign Andy Dalton. It's possible the front office can find a last-minute trade partner, but they'll be eating $9 million in dead cap and saving $11 million against the cap either way. Fuller immediately becomes one of the better available free agents. He just turned 29 years old and has experience as being a No. 1 outside corner.
  10. Nothing matters at this stage. Its just talkin. Chiefs know what Remmers is. A good back up. Im sure Veach & Co will continue to work. I also think that Schwartz or Fischer may be back when healthy. Lots of options.
  11. Chiefs re-signed OT Mike Remmers to a one-year contract. A fill-in starter most of the 2020 season at right tackle for Mitchell Schwartz, Remmers had to flip to the blindside for the Super Bowl, where he was relentlessly exposed in the Chiefs' dismal loss. He nevertheless held up reasonably well on the right side for the most of the year and provides experienced depth in the Chiefs' system. With the entire line being overhauled, Remmers is surely not in the Chiefs' starting plans. SOURCE: Sam McDowell on Twitter
  12. They passed on Long. Maybe they are rebooting again? Gruden does not treat players with enough respect. He is a roster turn over machine.
  13. The K.C. Chiefs have made a couple roster moves to bolster depth at key offensive positions on Thursday with reports that the team had agreed to bring back tight end Blake Bell and running back Elijah McGuire on one-year deals. Free agency just began this week for the 2021 NFL season and the Chiefs have been quite busy already, having brought in Joe Thuney as the big ticket item along with Kyle Long as further offensive line help. However they’ve also stayed very busy by re-signing several of their own players in an effort to largely keep a championship core together as much as possible.
  14. 26-2 Two AFC Championships & Superbowl. I think they earned it. Any player can get hurt any day , anywhere.
  15. Free agent OT Riley Reiff will visit the Bengals. The Bengals have former first-rounder Jonah Williams locked in on the left side, the Bengals could be eyeing Reiff as a possible replacement for RT Bobby Hart. He has some experience on the right side from his Detroit days. The Vikings cut Reiff last week in a salary-cap move despite a nice bounce-back year from him in 2020.
  16. Maybe sign above average at a specific position vs jack of all trades and master on none.
  17. Chiefs signed OG Kyle Long to a one-year contract. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the deal is worth up to $5 million. It's the Chiefs' second major addition at guard after signing Joe Thuney. Long actually has NFL experience at tackle — where the Chiefs are also replacing both starters — but he hasn't played there since 2015. The Chiefs could still be getting Laurent Duvernay-Tardif back at guard after he opted out of the 2020 season to help fight the coronavirus pandemic — LDT is a doctor — but his NFL future is uncertain. Headed into his age-33 campaign, Long was limited to 30 total appearances by injury between 2016-19. He's an upside addition, but the Chiefs will believe his contributions when they see them.

  19. Chiefs signed OG Kyle Long to a one-year contract.
  20. Niemann, 25, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent for the Chiefs in 2018, the final year former defensive coordinator Bob Sutton spent with the club. Niemann made the team under Steve Spagnuolo in 2019 and in 2020 — and his role has grown in each season. Niemann saw 5% of defensive snaps in 2018, 36% in 2019 and 43% in 2020. He is also a key player for special teams coordinator Dave Toub. Niemann registered 44 tackles (29 solo), three tackles for loss, 1.0 sack and three quarterback hits in 2020. He also forced a fumble and recovered two.
  21. Ward, 24, has been one of the team’s starting outside corners for the past two seasons. By placing a second-round contract tender on him, the Chiefs commit to paying Ward a salary of $3.4 million in 2021. He is free to negotiate with other teams, but Kansas City has the right to match any offer — and if Ward signs with another team, it must compensate the Chiefs with a second-round draft pick. Ward — who played his college ball at Middle Tennessee State — joined the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2018. Just before the start of the regular season, they traded him to the Chiefs for offensive lineman Parker Ehinger — who never played a down for the Cowboys.
  22. I like it. Niemann as a reserve at reserve pay is ok. Ward and Fenton on the outside keeps Sneed on the inside. Less holes to fill. Fenton had good grades last season and could also go inside with Sneed outside. Now lets get another LB and some pass rush. Veach has a plan. TRUST in VEACH.
