  1. I like Williams. He has been really good when given a chance. I like him better than Fournett. Remember he was also injured last year
  2. No Thanks Chiefs are stacked at RB and guys like this are available mid season off the street.
  3. HB can play corner for 4 games. I would take a flyer on this guy. Chiefs locker room will control this. Fenton is not the guy I want to see at corner. The first 4 games are no gimmies.
  4. Because they can get him on the cheap and not give up anything?
  5. You may be correct and yet he is getting paid by Balt this year so its not like he is playing on the cheap. See Cam Newton. He may want to beat Balt in the playoffs. Thornhill is not guaranteed 100% and every team is one injury away from a NEED. HB would be free to play anywhere depending on the opponent & situation. We should ask Frank Clark what he thinks.
  6. FYI....Ravens did try to deal him but he has a 10 million salary. Most teams knew he was going to be released. Like I have said if he becomes a slight headache you cut him. Low risk high reward
  7. Exactly and remember KC was ready to sign him then as well. There are two sides to every story. Chiefs culture could be a great fit?
  8. Two different issues. Balt is eating big bucks and he was not a good fit. IF KC could invest few bucks , one year prove it, and if he is not a good fit BYE BYE. Im sure Balt knows their defense is not as good without him. IM sure Pitts and Cleve are thrilled. Somebody will sign this guy and he may be on a mission. NO real risk high reward.
  9. Just last offseason, the Chiefs actually believed they had a deal with Earl Thomas worked out. As the safety himself described the events, it was a short-term deal with the parameters essentially in place before Baltimore came in and shocked everyone with an aforementioned deal of that scope. It’s hard to believe the Chiefs would so easily dismiss the idea of adding Earl Thomas at this stage. That’s not to say that they are going to sign him, but the Chiefs already likely have a mountain of homework on Thomas—his abilities as a player at this stage in his career, what his coaches and teammates say about him personally, what he’s like in the locker room and in the community. This latest incident would mar some of that, but they were comfortable enough to sign him before after vetting him all the same. As for a fit right now, Thomas made a lot more sense before the team signed Tyrann Mathieu and drafted Juan Thornhill. When a “week to week” Eric Berry and an aging Ron Parker are your starting options, Earl Thomas looks like an unearthed diamond. Now the Chiefs have young depth who’ve proven capable of winning a championship together. Where does Thomas fall into that mix? What if the Chiefs like what they hear from others? What if Thomas has a legitimate side of his own story? What if the Ravens were just a bad fit? What if Thomas is willing to come into town on a one-year contract? What if Thomas is motivated to behave like a saint in order to hit the free agent market next spring? These are all legitimate questions that make it difficult to believe there’s an easy answer to whether or not the Chiefs should bring in Thomas. https://arrowheadaddict.com/2020/08/23/chiefs-make-play-earl-thomas/
  10. Nothing in his performance hints he is washed up. Problematic personality Yes. The Chiefs are a great team no doubt. Fact: Ward and Fenton were burned on that overthrow by Garappalo. Had that pass been completed, most here would be screaming for help. The playoffs and some breaks went the Chiefs way, for once. KC is not head and shoulders better than Balt or many other very good NFL teams. Someone will sign this guy on the cheap. Cheap deal=no risk. Chiefs have good leadership that will not tolerate any BS.
  11. Yes. Its worth a conversation. He will sign somewhere and likely on a prove it, short leash, cheap contract. Why not KC take a very limited , low risk, chance? Maybe he will shut it and get to work? Would free up HB and allow Thornhill plenty of time to be 100%.
  12. Ravens released FS Earl Thomas. The release comes with a conduct detrimental to the team clause. The Ravens will take a $15 million cap hit to move on from Thomas. That could jump to $25 million if Thomas wins a grievance. Thomas remained one of the better safeties in the league last year, but his off-field baggage could limit his free-agent suitors. DeShon Elliott is expected to replace Thomas opposite Chuck Clark. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Cowboys are the frontrunners to sign Thomas. Houston and the 49ers have also been linked as possible landing spots.
  13. Hard to say he will get a big pay day. Some guys know they are a better player on a GREAT TEAM and understand their role. I hope he stays like others have. DIRTY DAN !
  14. Chiefs dont get to the Superbowl without Sorensons plays. Spags is using this guy well. I hope he stays in KC his entire career. Its not like he is over payed.
  15. I dont think anyone knows that? He may be getting some of that bonus now or next year. He salaries could be spread out thru the entire 6 years. We dont know yet.
  16. Chiefs signed TE Travis Kelce to a four-year extension through 2025. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports the deal is worth "more than $14 million" per season and includes "just under" $25 million in guarantees. Kelce still had two years remaining on his previous deal. He had been set to make $8 million in 2020. It's less money than George Kittle received earlier Thursday, but this is 31-year-old Kelce's third contract. Aging well and staying healthy, Kelce has cleared 1,000 yards each of the past four seasons, eclipsing 1,200 twice. He and Kittle remain in their own tier atop the tight end ranks.
  17. Gave Kelce LDTs money? I dont see Tardiff on the roster next year.
  18. Chiefs and Veach are as good as any top drafting team. Even without as much tape they have an advantage. KC needs to accumulate picks based on their stars already locked into big long term contracts.
  19. My sources, Ha Ha Ha, tell me SPEAKS has made a very good impression on Spags. I predict Speaks is the Man.
  20. From the numbers Pelissero has reported, it would appear that the roster bonus has been increased by around $700,000 — but restructured to be paid on a per-game basis. Since Okafor missed six games of last season with an injury, at least some of that roster bonus would be considered not-likely-to-be-earned (NLTBE) in 2020, meaning that if paid, it will count against the team’s 2021 salary cap. It’s likely that the $2 million in other incentives are also NLTBE in 2020. What’s more interesting is that Okafor was previously under contract for 2021. If Pelissero’s reporting is correct, the Chiefs and Okafor have agreed that he will not play for the team after 2020. This suggests pretty strongly that next season — if not this season — Tanoh Kpassagnon, Taco Charlton and Breeland Speaks all have an improved chance to start across from Frank Clark on the Chiefs’ defensive line.
  21. ALEX OKAFORDL, KANSAS CITY CHIEFS Chiefs restructured DE Alex Okafor's contract. Initially due $15.1 million over the next two seasons (and $7.9 million in 2020), Okafor's restructured deal includes a max of $4.96 million this upcoming year and allows him to walk as a free agent next March. He'll also receive $860,000 in per-game roster bonuses and another $2 million in incentives. A rotational player for the Chiefs, Okafor will continue to work behind Frank Clark in the team's season opener. SOURCE: Tom Pelissero on Twitter
  22. Is he allowed to be at the team facilities, practice etc.
  23. Fortunatly I think he is only 21 vs older rookies.
  24. LUCAS NIANGT, KANSAS CITY CHIEFS Chiefs third-round OT Lucas Niang has opted out of the 2020 season. Viewed as a potential replacement for Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, Niang (6’6/315) will instead join the latter in voluntarily stepping away. He'll return fresh in 2021 following hip surgery that kept him out of the Horned Frogs' final five games of 2019, as well as the 2020 Senior Bowl and entire draft process. Veteran Mike Remmers and second-year OL Nick Allegretti remain the favorites to step in for LDT.
