  1. Reality KC did not have a first round pick. Its like an early second. Drafting last is a huge disadvantage. Veach said this draft was about the future more than next season. Kc was in good position to repeat even without a draft. So based on Veach statement/goal, I say the draft was a strong B. Especially considering they were picking last.
  2. The Chiefs have agreed to a UDFA deal with Vanderbilt WR Kalija Lipscomb, a source tells me.
  3. Chiefs selected Tulane CB Thakarius Keyes with the No. 237 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Keyes played in 40 games during his four seasons at Tualne, racking up 95 tackles, 20 pass deflections and two interceptions along the way. He possesses solid size (6-foot-0 and 202-pounds) for a corner as well as intriguing jumping ability (36-inch vertical; 10-foot-6 broad). This combination of length and athleticism made him an intriguing late-round prospect, but he'll likely need to prove his worth on special teams to guarantee any sort of a role in 2020. The former no-star recruit has flashed willingness to throw his body around in the run game, so hopefully that attitude will carry over to the kicking game. SOURCE: Adam Teicher on Twitter
  4. Working from home can be dangerous. Veach was distracted by his Dog and said Dammit. The commissioner heard Danna and the rest is history.
  5. Craig Stout: Danna has short arms — and is shorter than any Steve Spagnuolo EDGE defender, adding questions about his fit and usage in the Chiefs defense. He could offer some upside as a dime rusher, but his lack of length could limit his effectiveness as an edge setter on early downs. Maybe Spagnuolo is considering moving him to off-ball linebacker to develop him as a SAM linebacker. There’s definite potential, but the fit remains to be seen. Grade: C- Kent Swanson: I have no clue what the plan is for Danna. Perhaps he’ll be playing as a SAM linebacker. This is my least favorite pick of the day, but you can’t get upset about a fifth-round pick. Grade: C- Matt Lane: This is a bit of a head-scratching pick at the end of an incredibly talented Chiefs draft class. Despite dominating at Central Michigan in 2018, Danna struggled against stronger competition to make the Michigan’s starting rotation. He’s powerful and explosive — with a relatively compact frame — but is super flexible and agile as a rusher. He doesn’t hit any of Spagnuolo’a hard thresholds for defensive ends who see significant snaps, so it’s a confusing pick. The coaching staff clearly likes his athleticism — they must see something with which they can work — but it doesn’t align with an otherwise stellar draft. Grade: D
  6. I think every team is except the Ravens who think running the ball will allow you to play from behind.
  7. More Speed and versatility. Like it. Special teams has potential as well.
  8. Seriously? Hard to understand this pick unless he can play linebacker.
  9. Yuck. Maybe they switch him to linebacker? Was rated as a late 7th round or UDFA.
  10. He was injured. 11 play off tds, knows the offense, can catch it too , decent pass protect: see the wasp play: and a small relative salary.
  11. That's what I mean. They are not drafted yet. Not happening, Would be crazy for a late pick.
  12. There is no undrafted player worth giving up Mr Playoffs for. Chiefs are not dealing Williams.
  13. Spags is going to get this guy in on a lot of packages. He may not start but he should see a ton of reps. Face it....not much competition from other KC linebackers.
  14. This is like a 5th round pick due to all the comp picks.
  15. I would like oline BPA. Seems late round CBs end up special teams. I think Kc can coach up oline.
  16. Maybe...yet he was waived and not picked up until Kc claimed him. Wylie did not get much time and Reid seems to like him. Rankin also looked decent before injury. Both are younger.
  17. Wiz was picked up off waivers and was a starter late season by default. Wylie was hurt and he grabbed the opportunity. I don't think he was that special and he may have wanted to go back to Pitts. In reality Fuller and Wiz were not really starters. Fuller played as a package and was there because Thornhill was out. I think Rankin and Wylie and Remmers are options. The guy that wins is probably better than Wiz. Plus Remmers is a swing tackle option.
  18. So maybe Hitchens can now play in the role he fits better?
  19. Glaring? I think KC was the 6th best against the pass. Good enough to be World Champions. CB needs some improvement and youth for sure but not a glaring problem.
  20. So if Burrow had fallen to #28 , you would not call that a steal?
  21. AFC West will be much better and one of the best in the NFL. This season is the best chance KC will have to win it all again. Once the Mahomes contract kicks in this team will not be as complete. AFC West will be a dog fight. Like the good old days. At least KC will have the best QB vs a serviceable QB.
