  1. Oddly enough, Matt Nagy, at the time the Chiefs offensive coordinator, had seen enough in the pre-draft process to covet the former Texas Tech Red Raider quarterback. Nagy, who later became the head coach of the Chicago Bears and was subsequently stuck with Trubisky, liked Mahomes so much that he kinda, sorta "cheated" on Mahomes' behalf the night before Mahomes' first meeting with head coach Andy Reid. The rest, as they say, is history. Mahomes gave the inside scoop on the New Heights podcast hosted by Mahomes' tight end, Travis Kelce, and his brother Jason, the longtime center of the Philadelphia Eagles: https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/the-chiefs-should-build-a-statue-of-matt-nagy-for-this-move-he-pulled-to-help-patrick-mahomes-impress-andy-reid/ar-AA14Nbki?cvid=d94ba4e7613f4b1b9354c503d348a26e And that's the other crazy part here, that Mahomes informed the Chiefs he was hearing from other teams about where they were going to take him. "If you let me fall after 12" implies that a number of teams were ready and waiting, and the team at 11, the New Orleans Saints, were extremely interested, something former Saints head coach-turned FOX analyst Sean Payton confirmed earlier this season. The Chiefs used the inside info wisely, trading up to the 10 spot with th Buffalo Bills in exchange for K.C.'s first- and third-round selections, plus K.C.'s. first-rounder in 2018
  2. Matt Nagy and Mahomes connection during the draft. Nagy was awesome then and I think a good reason Mahomes has adjusted to his new offense and weapons. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/the-chiefs-should-build-a-statue-of-matt-nagy-for-this-move-he-pulled-to-help-patrick-mahomes-impress-andy-reid/ar-AA14Nbki?cvid=0b0558bdecaf453993bbdf74dae7c1a4
  3. They may feel they are obligated to drive up the contract so their brotherhood of players will benefit. Its us against them. Lets face it more money is always better for most people. Then you have players who see playing football as the stepping stone to their real career after football. Announcing, coaching, blogging, rapping, talking head, actor, politician , podcast etc. Its clear Russel Wilson is already setting himself up for after playing is done. He is all about IMAGE.
  4. I hope they give key players a deadline well before the final NFL Date. No more Hill & Brown delays that screw up free agency and the draft. Chiefs need to know their cap situation well in advance.
  5. Cincinnati beat Kansas City twice last season, including in the AFC Championship Game. The Bengals' win was a big reason why the Chiefs re-tooled their defense this offseason. They added multiple young players to their secondary in the draft and also signed safety Justin Reid. The veteran made a bold prediction about Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins on Wednesday. "I'm gonna lock him down," Reid told reporters. "He's a very talented receiver too. More of a finesse type of guy, not the best blocker."
  6. Not sure. I use to think anything past the third was hoping to get lucky. I dont think that now. Veach and Reid have proved that every pick not only counts but should be made with serious considerations. Ill watch the entire draft now.
  7. Sky is falling? Ridiculous. Its a conversation. Its an observation. Its not an opinion, worry or criticism. Toney has played like 5 games in two seasons. Its an observation. Of course some belong to the SKY IS Falling Club. Im not a member. LOL
  8. Huh. Its cost a third and a sixth. Im not saying its not a good deal for KC. Just pointing out you cant help the team from the tub and that was the issue in NY. Chiefs got Pacheco with a 7th. Smith with a 6th. So any pick ,with Veach and Reid, is something and hardly nothing.
  9. Kadarius Toney (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday. Andy Reid called Toney day to day earlier in the week, but the speedy receiver looks to be on the wrong side of questionable for Week 13. Toney went down with the hamstring issue in Week 11 and sat the following week. Reid noted today that Toney is improving, but he likely needs a full practice to have a shot at playing. Skyy Moore could continue playing a meaningful role if Toney is out again. AFCWEST Take: Maybe the Giants are going to get the last laugh. Cant depend on this guy? Hope thats not the case.
  10. I did not think you meant that. Just furthering the conversation and agree about the big body receiver.
  11. I think Toney will go to IR. Make sure he is 100% for the playoffs. Most here will not agree but KC has missed Hardman and his speed. His role is critical and he is a playmaker in the red zone. I hope this Edwards move is not due to a more serious Hardman injury.
  12. Maybe. I think he likes being the BIG DOG and the BIG Money. He LOVES THE ATTENTION. I think most players are about money and fame. They say RING but take the money. Maybe late in their career a ring matters. To me fans take loses much harder than these millionaires.
  13. Lets see. Both teams are in the play off hunt and positioning. Both teams have excellent QBs and very good offenses. You get a coast to coast audience. Likely shoot out. Lots of talented players. Good Ratings. Then there is Denver. No interest. Just drama. So BORING. Very few exciting players. Little interest NO ratings. Already saw Mahomes & Co sleep walk thru a depleted Rams team.
  14. NFLNBAMLBGOLF ALL PLAYER NEWS BRANDON WILLIAMSDL, KANSAS CITY CHIEFS Chiefs signed DL Brandon Williams, formerly of the Ravens. Williams, 33, a longtime run stuffer for the Ravens, has been unsigned since playing 13 games for Baltimore in 2021. Williams will likely be a rotational player on the Kansas City defensive line. He'll reunite with Chiefs defensive line coach Joe Cullen, Williams' position coach for five seasons with the Ravens. Pro Football Focus grades the Chiefs as the league's 17th best rush defense through Week 12.
  15. From The Ravens Web Site If reports from Schefter are true that he expects to join the active roster, it makes a good pairing. According to football outsiders, the Chiefs are just below average as a run defense, ranked No. 18 in DVOA. With Williams on the interior, they may not be getting much in terms of pass rush, but they’ll certainly get a defender who can take on double teams and free up fellow defensive linemen and edge rushers beside him. https://www.baltimorebeatdown.com/2022/11/29/23485207/former-ravens-dt-brandon-williams-signs-with-chiefs-practice-squad-nfl-free-agency-news-deals
  16. The fact they are flexing out Patrick Mahomes and the exciting Kansas City Chiefs out of this game as well just shows how badly they did not want the Broncos to be on national television once again. I mean. Mahomes is likely the frontrunner for NFL MVP and has put on some great showings in these types of games, so taking him off alone just shows how far the Broncos have fallen.
  17. Chiefs-Broncos flexed out of Sunday Night Football in Week 14 https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/chiefs-broncos-flexed-out-of-sunday-night-football-in-week-14/ar-AA14IAau?cvid=f6392051e41040a39e1d536ca6f1ec40
  18. Seems to me KC has the Ends setting the edge as #1 priority vs rushing the passer? Much better this year against the run. Pressure from interior and blitzing.
  19. May depend on the talent ready to replace a top CB.
  20. Agree 100% Cinn may think they have the cheat code to stopping KC. Kc stopped/choked themselves. I do think they will score more than 3 in the first half.
  21. If the Chiefs win I might join their forum and invite them to the not insane chiefs coalition forum. Not sure I can mentally do it if Chiefs ;lose.
  22. Love all the drama in Denver. I would like the game flexed. Do not prefer Sunday Night Games.
  23. Hardman will get that job when he is healthy. Maybe Toney.
