  1. So an occasional home run is worth the fumbles? Will be interesting to see how this plays out. No risk signing.
  2. Maybe? Wonder why no other teams signed him? Hope he does well in KC.
  3. Seattle is now in the position to completely revamp their franchise with a first and second round pick from Denver still to come, after already making their team vastly better with Charles Cross and Boye Mafe, who the team took with the Broncos’ picks from 2022. Seattle is already good, they’re about to get much better — and Denver is a flaming dumpster fire that not even all the alkaline water in the rockies could douse. Make no mistake: This sucks. The Broncos were on the cusp of the playoff picture in 2021 and only needed some small improvements to put themselves in the hunt, now we’re talking about them having to become the worst team in the NFL in order to take a step forward. It’s a sad collapse caused by a freakout. The Broncos didn’t hide they really were trying to trade for Aaron Rodgers, with Hackett being a key piece to the puzzle in their minds — but when Rodgers decided to stay in Green Bay and sign an extension it forced the team’s hand to make a panic trade for Wilson.
  4. Fitzgerald wrote another article this week about the Broncos' option with Wilson. I will refer you to the piece for the details, but let's go over things in brief. • Wilson has option bonuses due in 2023 and 2024. The option bonuses are converted into signing bonuses for cap purposes if exercised. • A straight cut in 2023 means a $107M dead money charge — obviously, not a scenario the Broncos will consider. • A post-June 1 designation without exercising the option means a $77M dead money charge in 2023 and a $30M dead money charge in 2024. That's still not ideal for 2023. • If a post-June 1 designation is used while exercising the option, it's a $61M dead money charge in 2023 and $46M in 2024. Still not ideal. • Move up Wilson's option bonus for 2024 to 2022 (which should be allowed), and you could get the dead money charges to $40M in 2023 and $67M in 2024. That makes it manageable in 2023 but a problem in 2024.
  5. Maybe KC is taking a look at Gordon & Bryan Edwards for next seasons roster? Why not see if they fit now? CEH will be gone and the receiver room is wide open for next year.
  6. I think a few is three? A couple is two?
  7. Edwards should be familiar to Chiefs fans as a former member of the Las Vegas Raiders roster, a foe who is familiar given the AFC West rivals play twice each season. The Raiders selected Edwards in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft after setting several career receiving marks at the University of South Carolina. He profiles as a bigger receiver at 6’3, 212 lbs., but he could never turn the corner for the Raiders and was jettisoned after just two seasons—like most of the draft picks during the Mike Mayock era as general manager. Edwards showed solid production in his second season with 34 catches for 571 yards and 3 touchdowns in 2020 but the Raiders weren’t interested in investing further in his growth. They traded Edwards before the 2021 season to the Atlanta Falcons for a swap of picks, gaining a fifth in exchange for a seventh-round selection. Unfortunately for Edwards, his stint in Atlanta wasn’t memorable at all and he was released on November 24 after catching only 3 passes for 15 yards in scant playing time in seven games this year.
  8. The Kansas City Chiefs made a couple of moves to add veteran offensive players to the practice squad on Monday. Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach is shoring up the team’s depth and experience on the offensive side heading into the stretch run of the regular season. On Monday, the Chiefs added running back Melvin Gordon to the practice squad. Then later in the day, NFL reporter Tom Pelissero had word that the Chiefs also signed wide receiver Bryan Edwards as well.
  9. KC played two third string QBs so those numbers are a bit off. Like the game TB rushed for 3 yards as Brady threw it 60?.
  10. This season, Gordon has 90 rushes for 318 yards (3.5 yards per attempt) and two touchdowns, as well as 25 receptions for 233 yards. The Chiefs still have two games left against the Broncos — in Weeks 14 and 17.
  11. Ron Kopp Jr. @Ron_Kopp It's worth pointing out that Gordon is more likely a direct backup to Jerick McKinnon's 3rd down / pass down role than he is a backup to what Pacheco/RoJo will be doing for this offense Gordon's good in pass pro, and has always been a reliable pass catcher
  12. Not with his fumbles. Seems he has had more but some were not recovered by the other team. See McCoy.
  13. This is a very scary ANDY move. Why does he need 5 guys to chose from or rotate or dream about?
  14. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the Chiefs are expected to sign Melvin Gordon to their practice squad. It's unlikely Gordon stays on the practice squad for long, but this at least allows him time to familiarize himself with his new team. After getting cut by the Broncos on November 21st, Gordon went unclaimed on waivers but now finds himself playing for his old AFC West rivals. Rookie Isiah Pacheco has rushed 53 times for 258 yards and one touchdown over the last three weeks and should continue to serve as the team's lead back, but Gordon will likely work his way into the team's RB2 role. Gordon has rushed 90 times for 318 yards and two touchdowns this season while also fumbling five times. He'll be hard to trust for fantasy purposes as long as Pacheco remains healthy and efficient with his opportunities.
  15. Agree and yet Burrow puts up numbers as one of the most sacked QBs last year and this year. It will be on the Dbs. KC pass defense has not been very good despite putting pressure on the QB at one of the best rates in the league this year. Yes KC has needed to blitz to get that done. Without the blitz Burrow will have all day to survey the field. Its like playing Mahomes. Damned if you do damned if you dont. Current DBs are giving up plenty of yardage and Cinn has the receivers to dominate. Chiefs offense will need to play their best game of the year and hope Cinn turns it over. SHOOTOUT COMING
  16. Ravens’ Lamar Jackson rips ESPN reporter apart for “defamation” of character https://ebonybird.com/2022/11/28/ravens-lamar-jackson-rips-reporter-apart-defamation/
  17. Bengals Forum / fans very confident. Say chief fans have no class. Blah Blah Blah http://thebengalsboard.com/Thread-On-to-Kansas-City--33833?page=2
  18. Chiefs offense must bring their very very best game. Cinn will torch the Chiefs secondary. Rookies wont be able to keep up with Cinn this year.
  19. After surrendering nine sacks in the 2021 divisional game, the revamped offensive line put together possibly their best performance of the season, against one of the better defensive lines in the NFL. With only one sack of Burrow allowed and mostly clean pockets all day, the offensive front gave Burrow all the time he needed to spread the ball around and make some really great throws. Despite the early-season struggles, Frank Pollack’s unit looks to be coming together at the right time as the team begins a stretch of big games against playoff contenders. The struggles at the beginning of the season were expected, as the unit had no preseason work and very little training camp time working together with the same starting five, but as the stretch run begins, it looks as if the line we expected to see is rounding in to form. https://www.cincyjungle.com/2022/11/28/23481094/joe-burrow-news-cincinnati-bengals-offensive-line-titans-nfl
  20. Allegretti passed his test against the Raiders — but Donald is a different beast. “[Allegretti] has played a lot of big games for us,” explained Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes after the game. “Throwing him in there with those other guys? They battled the entire game and gave us chances to score points. I’m always proud of those guys — and when they continue to get better and better, we’ll win a lot of football games.” Early in the game, it looked like Donald would be up to his normal tricks. During Kansas City’s opening possession, he registered two tackles and a quarterback hit. But through the rest of the game, he would log just one more tackle — and was largely ineffective in disrupting the Chiefs’ offense. Like his quarterback, head coach Andy Reid was pleased with the performances of Allegretti and his fellow offensive linemen, crediting his offensive line coach for their success. “Aaron’s a pretty good player, so that’s a big challenge,” said Reid of the star defensive tackle. “But [Allegretti] did a nice job. Andy Heck has a nice scheme set up, too — to work slides and so on with him. https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2022/11/28/23481540/chiefs-rams-nick-allegretti-credited-for-aaron-donalds-quiet-day
  21. Jackson's vulgar response has gone viral on social media on Sunday night. Jackson's response to the fan has sparked a lot of criticism on social media, with some calling for punishment from the National Football League. The league can fine players for social media behavior, though that's pretty rare. "What a nasty vulgar tweet by Lamar Jackson after todays Ravens loss. I have cleaned it up. To those who criticize me, you have never played the game. Once you step out on a football field and have had 350 pound players chasing you for 3 hours, then you can criticize me," It will be interesting to see if the Ravens or the league takes a step with Jackson for his social media behavior on Sunday night.
  22. It was in an article on the Ravens Site. https://ebonybird.com/2022/11/27/ravens-sufffer-stunning-loss-jaguars-week-12/ Quarterback Lamar Jackson led the team as the top rusher and made a few impressive throws, yet he looked far removed from his early season MVP form and had some questioning whether he was truly an elite quarterback. After the Week 12 defeat, a Twitter user criticized Jackson’s ongoing contract situation, suggesting that the Ravens should let Jackson walk next offseason after Jackson’s poor performances of late, and Jackson clapped back: Ravens’ Lamar Jackson vents his frustration over recent defeat on Twitter Jackson finished Week 12 with a 87.2 quarterback rating compared to Trevor Lawrence’s 129.8 rating. He was able to dance his way out of pressure at times but struggled to establish a strong passing or run game from the start, and he and the rest of the offense will rue not capitalizing on drives earlier in the game.
