  1. Looking at Buffalo remaining schedule it wont matter. They have a very easy schedule to finish the season.
  2. Dolphins signed EDGE Bradley Chubb to a five-year, $119 million extension through 2027. Miami acquired Chubb, who was in the final year of his rookie contract, just hours before the trade deadline. After giving up a 2023 first-round pick, a 2024 fourth-round pick and running back Chase Edmonds, the Dolphins were almost a lock to try and extend Chubb, but nobody expected a deal to get done this quickly. Set to earn $22 million per year over the next five seasons, Chubb's contract also includes $63.2 million in guaranteed money. With $7 million in guaranteed money left on his 2022 contract, Chubb's new deal will take effect at the start of the 2023 season, as Miami hopes to have secured one of the league's best pass rushers for years to come.
  3. Agree except I dont think KC was ever written off. A slight downgrade: Yes.
  4. Why KC Chiefs trading for WR Kadarius Toney is a good move When talking about the risk versus reward for Kadarius Toney, people are having a hard time reasoning with the Chiefs giving up a 3rd round pick (and the 6th but that’s far less important). Well, let’s start by looking at general manager Brett Veach’s draft history in the 3rd round. Brett Veach 3rd round picks: 2018 – Derrick Nnadi and Dorian O’Daniel 2019 – Khalen Saunders 2020 – Lucas Niang 2021 – None 2022 – Leo Chenal Really, there are no big hits there. Obviously, it’s early on Leo Chenal but it’s pretty evident that there is a talent drop-off after the second round in most drafts. Brett Veach himself has even said that before. Given this information, it is understandable why the Chiefs think Kadarius Toney or Toney’s ceiling is much better than whatever that future 3rd round pick was going to be. Ultimately, the 3rd round pick isn’t that big of a loss. https://arrowheadaddict.com/2022/11/03/kc-chiefs-why-kadarius-toney-trade-worth-making/
  5. Orlando Brown Hindsight is always 20/20, and with the way Brown’s season has started, he may have been better off taking Veach’s offer. According to PFF, Brown has never finished a season among the top 20 tackles in the league, and he is currently ranked as the 49th overall tackle. Thus far in 2022, he has been credited with 24 pressures allowed, four QB hits surrendered, and a sack. For context, Ronnie Stanley—who the Baltimore Ravens chose to play LT over Brown—is the leading tackle in all of football right now. He has allowed zero sacks, zero QB hits, and just two pressures. On one hand, the Chiefs have played a number of the league’s toughest defensive lines through their first seven games, but on the other, Orlando Brown proclaimed himself as the best left tackle in the league this offseason. For the sake of Patrick Mahomes’ health and his own potential to earn another contract with Kansas City, Orlando Brown needs to improve his performance after the bye week. https://arrowheadaddict.com/2022/11/03/3-chiefs-need-improve-performance-bye-week/3/
  6. Seems to me he wanted to play. Reality it did not matter what the training staff believed. If Berry was not truthful thats on him not them.
  7. KC med staff and management do a great job not rushing guys etc.
  8. Going forward After the acquisition of wide receiver Kadarius Toney from the New York Giants — and trading cornerback Rashad Fenton to the Atlanta Falcons — the Chiefs' 2022 roster is mostly set. Heading into next year’s NFL Draft, Kansas City is projected to have 12 draft picks — along with $25 million in cap space and the ability to free up a lot more with a few moves. But the team’s future isn’t about going all-in during any one year. Instead, it’s about trying to get as many rolls of the dice as possible. In how many years of the New England Patriots’ dynasty were they truly the NFL’s best team? Maybe half of them? The last Super Bowl was a great example of the two best teams failing to make it to the final game of the year. With the arsenal of resources the Chiefs have at their disposal, they have the option to make big moves. As some of the other key players in the AFC are busy paying the check on their quarterbacks or expensive free agents, Kansas City is locked and loaded to be a big player. The future for the roster is bright. Veach has proven that he can move on from star players like Hill (and safety Tyrann Mathieu) and rebuild through the draft. Mahomes has proven that he can elevate players around him. Though it can be frustrating to see other teams make big moves at the trading deadline, just remember: Kansas City’s long-term plan remains in place. https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2022/11/2/23436564/chiefs-gm-brett-veach-still-working-plan-begun-in-march
  9. In New York, Toney ended up having an up-and-down tenure that was marred by a string of injuries that kept him off the field for a total of 12 games through his first two NFL seasons. But despite the injury history, Chiefs general manager Brett Veach remained steadfast in his admiration for Toney’s playmaking ability. Even before the season began, the GM was talking to quarterback Patrick Mahomes about the Giants wideout “It was something that he actually approached me about during the off-season,” Mahomes revealed, “so he’s kind of kept me in the loop on everything. It didn’t work out then.” Mahomes said that as the season progressed, he didn’t think that much about Toney; he was focused on the guys the team had been able to acquire. But if you are a Chiefs fan, you know that once Veach sets his mind on a player, he will stop at nothing until they are wearing a Kansas City uniform. By the time the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7, Veach was well into making a deal for the former first-round player. “He (Veach) came to me,” recalled Mahomes, “I think after the San Fran game — and kind of came back and said this might happen during the bye. Luckily for us, it did happen — and we were able to get another talented playmaker in the receiving room.” Toney is grateful for being somewhere where he is appreciated — which wasn’t always the case in New York. “It feels good [to be] wanted by a team,” he noted on Wednesday. “I feel like this is a great opportunity for everybody — I mean, a fresh start, for me to be able to step into the AFC and show what I can do.”
  10. Last week, the Kansas City Chiefs acquired wide receiver Kadarius Toney in a trade with the New York Giants for a third-round compensatory pick and a sixth-round pick. But this was not the beginning of the team’s interest in acquiring the wideout. According to Toney, Kansas City’s interest in him dates all the way back to 2021’s pre-draft process. At that time, the Chiefs were coming off a Super Bowl appearance and already had wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Mecole Hardman on the team. Toney seemed to fit right in with what Kansas City was seeking at the position. Unfortunately, some things are not meant to be — at least not on the timeline we expect. Desperately needing to overhaul their offensive line, the Chiefs traded their first-round draft pick to the Baltimore Ravens for starting left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. This effectively ended any chance of acquiring Toney in the draft. https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2022/11/2/23437130/chiefs-interested-in-kadarius-toney-since-before-draft
  11. KADARIUS TONEYWR, KANSAS CITY CHIEFS Chiefs coach Andy Reid said he will "try to work him [Kadarius Toney] in" during the team's Week 9 game against the Titans. Toney is practicing on Wednesday after missing weeks of practice prior to his trade. It sounds like he will be active for Week 9 but may be limited to a rotational role. Starting him in fantasy leagues would be a considerable risk. His upside in Kansas City is tantalizing, but Toney drafters would be smart to wait another week before getting him in their lineups.
  12. The Kansas City Chiefs have begun the process of getting Lucas Niang back on the field as he opens his practice window heading into Week 9. It still might be a while before fans see the return of offensive tackle Lucas Niang to the field for the Kansas City Chiefs, but the good news that came out on Wednesday was that the journey had begun after missing every game before the team’s bye in Week 8 due to injury. https://arrowheadaddict.com/2022/11/02/lucas-niang-can-return-practice-kansas-city-chiefs/
  13. We disagree. Im not all in SB or nothing. Its too easy to lose a game in the NFL. I enjoy a winning season even if the team falls short. Too many years of no playoff wins. I do not see PM losing 4 SBs. If he got to that game the TEAM got there not PM by himself.
  14. I would rather be competitive every year and knowing that PM will win at least 2 of those 4 SBs. No way he goes 0-4!
  15. Good points. Agree. I read lots of stuff about teams mortgaging their future and yet the good teams seem to figure it out and stay competitive. Lots of boards say the same thing about KC with Mahomes KC will eventually BLAH BLAH BLAH. I think its as much about Veach seeing how the Clark trade and Brown trade are not working out long term.
  16. Agree. Im not so confident the D will get better. I dont see any quality depth. I do think the offense will get better and has depth. Just need the defense to get a few stops and the offense will carry this team. Defense should be better next year with more experience, another good draft and a key FA signing.
  17. Chiefs need some roster space for injured guys coming back. That may have played into this decision. With Fenton missing the last two games due to a hamstring injury — as well as McDuffie not being quite ready yet — the Chiefs had to turn to rookie fourth-rounder Joshua Williams, who showed he could serve the team as ample depth in the case of another injury. But the key to the deal might have very well been rookie seventh-rounder Nazeeh Johnson, who the Chiefs added to their active roster in late September. Chris Lammons is important to the team’s special teams unit (he’s played 75% of special teams snaps on the season), so clearing McDuffie’s spot may have meant the Chiefs had to risk Johnson through waivers. There is a good chance he would have been claimed. Seeing the writing on the wall, the Chiefs traded Fenton to the Falcons, created a little cap room and can now develop four cornerbacks on rookie contracts on their active roster. We’ll get further clarity on the move when defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo speaks to the media on Thursday. https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2022/11/1/23435559/chiefs-trade-rashad-fenton-to-falcons-activate-trent-mcduffie
  18. Chiefs activated CB Trent McDuffie (hamstring) from injured reserve. McDuffie was designated for return on October 12th and has been practicing with the Chiefs ever since. The 2022 first-round pick was injured in the team's Week 1 win over the Cardinals, but will now make his long-awaited return to the field. McDuffie could have a chance to suit up for the Chiefs' Week 9 matchup against the Titans.

  20. Maybe but there really is no clear role for OBJ on this team unless injuries show up. Coming off ACL how can you be sure what you are really getting. No training camp etc. I think KC made their receiver deal already.
  21. Good info. They have played a really easy schedule. KC should be all in to stop the run early and make Tenn pass it. Past games KC kind of took their foot off the gas and lost a couple games on really dumb plays. I see KC rolling. This is a good matchup for KC.
  22. I dont worry about sports teams. Its entertainment. Interesting to discuss.
  23. Most are unproven and have no play off experience.. Even McDuffie has played only 20 snaps. Sneed is the only KNOWN. Not sure there is any real depth. But what do I really know? Veach has it figured out.
