  1. Yes. Did the Faiders have a Bosa too? Thats the big issue. Hard to double both?
  2. This has been a problem we have been waiting for the Chiefs to solve ever since injured tight end Blake Bell was moved to the Reserve/Injured list after making the initial roster. It had been reported that Lee (who started the season on the practice squad) would occupy Bell’s vacated roster spot before the season opener against the Arizona Cardinals. But since the team had so little cap space, this wasn’t possible without an additional roster move. According to Spotrac’s calculations, the team’s cap space was down to $46,000 at one point. Then last Wednesday, the team cleared $430,000 in cap space by waiving injured tight end Matt Bushman with an injury settlement. That gave the Chiefs a little more room with which to work. It still, however, wasn’t enough to put Lee on the 53-man roster. So he (and wide receiver Daurice Fountain) were given single-game elevations to the active roster for last Sunday’s game — moves that had much smaller salary-cap impacts. With this $1.5 million from the Butker contract restructure, we now estimate that the Chiefs have $628,000 in cap space. The downside is that Butker’s contract will now carry a cap hit that is $729,000 higher in both 2023 and 2024.
  3. On Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs placed injured rookie cornerback Trent McDuffie on its Reserve/Injured (injured reserve) list and made six other roster moves: signing practice squad linebackers Jack Cochrane and Elijah Lee to the active roster, adding placekicker Matt Ammendola, cornerback Dicaprio Bootle and wide receiver Corey Coleman to the practice squad and releasing safety James Wiggins from the practice squad. Together, these moves reduced the team’s salary cap space by $1.3 million. But there was a problem: according to the salary cap site Spotrac, the team only had $422,000 with which to work. So the moves would have put the Chiefs $829,000 over the salary cap. On Wednesday morning, we learned how the Chiefs had decided to manage this problem: by restructuring the contract of placekicker Harrison Butker.
  4. Thats some very talented guys to stop. Hope you are correct.
  5. Its just one game. Denver won that game easily but for two goal line fumbles and an complete dip shit head coach decision at the end of the game. Wilson is a Winner and Denver will be in this thing. Looks like their D may be less formidable but the offense should be very good.
  6. Should be a good litmus test for both teams. Cant wait.
  7. Hope you are correct. Very rare that any first year DB has immediate success let alone 3 guys on one team. Best situation for KC is winning a shoot out. Hope the KC tackles can contain the pass rush. I expect Chargers to light the KC secondary up Thursday. Hoping I am WRONG!
  8. Of course. Not sure why the assumption is that Trent would be covering Allen or that Trent is already a shut down corner? Ariz. did not have their top playmakers available. I think Trent is going to be very good but we dont really know much yet and once teams see film on a guy they find a way to attack his weakness or tendencies.
  9. True. I do think KC has been very fortunate over the past few seasons. Seems they did not have serious injury to their star players.
  10. Agree. They have added lots of weapons. Their defense gave up a lot of yards to the Raiders and Carr was a turnover machine. I think Mahomes will still put up #s if his protection holds up.
  11. KEENAN ALLENWR, LOS ANGELES CHARGERS Chargers coach Brandon Staley refused to rule out WR Keenan Allen (hamstring) but admitted "it's not looking great" for Week 2's game against the Chiefs. Allen's hamstring will, per Staley, "probably take some time to heal." Josh Palmer, DeAndre Carter, and Gerald Everett will be the beneficiaries of Allen's injury if, as seems incredibly likely, Allen does not play on Thursday Night Football. Allen's hamstring injury has not been described as incredibly serious, so he might have a shot at playing in Week 3.
  12. We have activated Practice Squad players LB Jack Cochrane & LB Elijah Lee. We have signed K Matt Ammendola, CB Dicaprio Bootle, & WR Corey Coleman to the Practice Squad. We have placed CB Trent McDuffie on Reserve/Injured. We released S James Wiggins from the practice squad.
  13. Your point is well taken. My thought is that the Chargers still have some other veteran good receivers to fill in now being covered by a much less talented KC rookie. I see that as advantage Chargers. They will scheme there offense at him. Im not sure how well Trent would have done or if he would have been on Allen? Ariz. was lacking weapons. Murry is not Herbert. Should be a great game and AFC West match up win or lose. Unfortunately he will miss at least 4 more games against some good teams. Not good.
  14. I sure hope so. Fenton is often hurt and there are no real back ups at this point. OK guys who is available out there?
  15. Good points. Chargers have receivers to fill in but KC now has a less talented rookie filling in. Maybe they move Sneed outside and have Reid play the Slot with Cook at Safety.
  16. With Trent M. out I see the Chargers winning this. Not sure KC can hold back their pass rush and Chargers should have no problems moving the ball in the air. I hope KC brings in a veteran corner. I dont trust the rookies at this point and depth is questionable. 36-27 Chargers Ariz. was not a big test.
  17. Chiefs placed CB Trent McDuffie (hamstring) on injured reserve. McDuffie left Kansas City's win over Arizona in the second half and was carted into the locker room. He played 21 coverage snaps before departing, and even though he's a rookie, this will probably hurt Kansas City's pass defense a bit. McDuffie will miss at least four weeks.
  19. KEENAN ALLENWR, LOS ANGELES CHARGERS NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports Keenan Allen (hamstring) is "unlikely" to play in Week 2 against the Chiefs. Fowler added "there is optimism after tests that his hamstring injury isn’t anything long-term." Allen never had a real chance to suit up for Thursday night's matchup against Kansas City after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 1 against Vegas. He was on his way to a nice fantasy day, catching all four of his targets for 66 yards before the injury. Justin Herbert spread the ball around after Allen's exit; no Chargers pass catcher saw more than four targets against the Raiders. Allen's absence should make Joshua Palmer a viable starter in 12-team leagues that start 3-4 receivers. Palmer ran the second most routes among Chargers receivers in the team's Week 1 win over Vegas and reeled in all three of his targets for five yards. RELATED: Josh Palmer , Mike Williams
  20. Matt Derrick @mattderrick Andy Reid says K Harrison Butker (ankle sprain) is day-to-day. CB Trent McDuffie (hamstring) "will struggle to make it to the game." Thursday. Everyone else will practice in some form Tuesday. Today is the team's only full day of practice ahead of Thursday's game.
  21. Good point. In a different system he may not need to run as much. I think both are on par with each other and in systems that work best for each. If they switched teams it would be interesting to see what the results would be.
  22. You come to very quick conclusions. First 2 quarters vs 68 in a season?
