  1. And as I said we see maybe 1% of what these guys are doing. Not every player is a year one starter. Only one player that KC waived was picked up. They are mostly on the PS. So no harm keeping this guy at this point.
  2. Wat too early to know. As fans we see 1% of what these guys are doing. I trust Veach. Its not like KC has anyone better to replace K.
  3. :46 p.m. The Chiefs have brought safety Zayne Anderson back to their practice squad, according to NFL Network. 1:47 p.m. The Chiefs are bringing back defensive end Azur Kamara to their practice squad, according to The Kansas City Star. 1:53 p.m. The Chiefs signed veteran defensive tackle Taylor Stallworth to their practice squad, according to his agent.
  4. 1:02 p.m. The Chiefs have signed linebacker Jack Cochrane to their practice squad, according to The Kansas City Star. 1:22 p.m. The Chiefs are signing tight end Kendall Blanton to their practice squad, according to FOX4.
  5. The Chiefs are bringing back both wide receiver Daurice Fountain and defensive tackle Danny Shelton to their practice squad, Reported signings TE Kendall Blanton OL Mike Caliendo LB Jack Cochrane WR Daurice Fountain TE Jordan Franks CB Nazeeh Johnson QB Chris Oladokun OL Austin Reiter DT Danny Shelton
  6. https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2022/8/31/23330170/5-things-to-note-about-the-chiefs-initial-53-man-roster-for-2022 It had been speculated for weeks that the Chiefs might keep three quarterbacks. Since acquiring Chad Henne in 2018, head coach Andy Reid has opted to roll into the regular season with only two. Quarterback Shane Buechele nearly did enough to make this team last year, and he even got a cup of coffee on the 53-man roster late in the year when the aforementioned Cardinals tried to poach him off the Chiefs' practice squad. By keeping Buechele on the 53-man roster, Reid sent a clear message: the Chiefs value Buechele and see him as the next QB to back up Patrick Mahomes. If the Chiefs thought that Buechele was only good enough to be a third-string quarterback, then they would have let him walk. This is a more significant vote of confidence in Buechele than it may appear on the surface; it means Reid trusts him to keep the ship afloat in the future if Mahomes and Henne miss time for any reason.
  7. Reported signings OL Mike Caliendo CB Nazeeh Johnson QB Chris Oladokun OL Austin Reiter TE Jordan Franks
  8. He is probably as good as any other team has for a #4 tackle. Likely would clear waivers as would most #4 tackles. KC seems to feel he has upside.
  9. I was not expecting either Joshua Kaindoh or Malik Herring to make the final roster but I was obviously mistaken. I thought that Kaindoh was underwhelming over the past month and that Herring just didn’t do enough to overtake both Shelton and Stallworth. I project that Herring, similar to Blake Bell, will be placed on injured reserve due to an oblique injury and will likely return later in the season. I also believe that the Chiefs would rather ride with the young guys than either one of the veterans, due to their upside/potential. I can’t say I blame them but I’m not convinced it’s 100% the correct for a team ready to win the super bowl this season. https://arrowheadaddict.com/2022/08/30/kc-chiefs-53-man-roster-reactions-observations/3/
  10. Maybe Fountain to PS? Not sure anyone would claim him. Coleman too?
  11. Wide receivers (5): JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Mecole Hardman, Skyy Moore, Justin Watson The Chiefs keeping only five wide receivers was somewhat of a surprise — especially because of the well-known special-teams upside of Daurice Fountain. We knew the top four players on this list would certainly make the team — and Watson impressed Mahomes throughout the offseason and preseason. Pay attention to which wide receivers make the practice squad (right now, it’s looking like Corey Coleman and Cornell Powell), as these will be the first players up should there be an injury to one of the five receivers on the 53-man roster.
  12. Now at 53. Some very interesting cuts. Lbs and Receivers LB Azur Kamara, CB Dicaprio Bottle, DT Matt Dickerson, RB Jerrion Ealy, S Nazeeh Johnson, DE Kehinde Oginni Waived/injured: TE Matt Bushman
  13. Waived. OL Vitaliy Gurman, S Devon Key, S Zayne Anderson, OL Mike Caliendo, WR Cornell Powell, LB Jack Cochrane, TE Jordan Franks Waived/injured: None Released: OL Roderick Johnson, WR Josh Gordon, DT Taylor Stallworth, DT Danny Shelton, WR Daurice Fountain, LB Elijah Lee, LB Jermaine Carter, Jr., WR Corey Coleman, OL Austin Reiter
  14. Chiefs released C Austin Reiter. Reiter played in Kansas City for three seasons before joining the Saints and then Dolphins in 2021. From 2018 to 2020, Reiter made 18 starts for the Chiefs. His experience in the system should earn him a spot on the team's practice squad
  15. Sam McDowell @SamMcDowell11 The Chiefs cut linebacker Jermaine Carter, source tells The Star. This is especially interesting because when the Chiefs signed the former Carolina Panthers linebacker in late March, all of his $1.77 million contract was guaranteed; in 2021, Carter started all of the team’s games. This means Kansas City will continue to carry Carter’s cap hit on its books throughout the season.
  16. Chiefs will carry TE Blake Bell (hip) on initial 53-player roster and release LB Elijah Lee, according to a source. Lee doesn't have to go through waivers as a vested veteran. I'm told the Chiefs will place Bell on IR after 53 set, and then bring back Lee to roster.
  17. Just a reminder. Henne threw a pathetic INT in that playoff game. No reason to even attempt that throw. Yes he did get that 4th down scramble. The momentum finally turned, the Browns began to lean heavily on their vaunted run game, which had produced just 18 yards in the first half. Nick Chubb converted on fourth down with a hard run, then Hunt followed another fourth-down conversion on the same drive by hitting the end zone against his former team to make it 22-17 with 11:07 to go. It remained with Cleveland when Karl Joseph picked off Henne in the end zone a few minutes later, but the Chiefs stuffed Chubb on first down, forced an incompletion and ultimately made Cleveland punt. Henne's gutsy scramble and Reid's equally daring fourth-down call kept the Browns from having another chance.
  18. Herbie Teope @HerbieTeope Chiefs released WR Daurice Fountain, according to a source. This is a surprise move, figured Fountain was in because he knew scheme and can contribute on special teams.
  19. I predict: Pissing and moaning will begin very soon at record pace. The Panty Patrol, Sky is Falling Astronomers, Chicken Little Mother Hens, Dead Horse Beating Mongers and the PMSDS Crowd will be loud and active at record pace. Chiefs go 11-6. Love this roster and think 2023 will be their coming out party. Future looks very very good in KC.
  20. Taking the ball out on kick offs is about strategy and situations. If you are playing a team that sucks on special teams you may want to try and exploit that. If you have a Tyrek Hill you may want to let him do his thing. If you are down 10 with 7 minutes to play you may want to go for it. If you never take it out, playing scared, then how can you execute it when you really need it? Toub has done a fine job over the years with special teams. Special teams is important and needs some talented guys to be a success. Reid can say dont bring it out any time. I bet he has from time to time.
  21. The Kansas City Star's Herbie Teope reports Ronald Jones made the Chiefs 53-player roster. Jones, per Teope, played his way onto the final KC roster with a strong third preseason showing. Jones' roster spot seemed tenuous at best with the emergence of rookie Isiah Pacheco in training camp. Staying on KC's roster is probably the worst thing that could happen to Jones' fantasy value. He could have fallen into regular carries on another roster with less running back depth. Nevertheless, Jones will start the 2022 regular season without a defined role. Clyde Edwards-Helaire will be the Chiefs No. 1 back, with Jerick McKinnon likely taking on passing down snaps.
