  1. Could they negotiate and pay the dead money over a couple of seasons?
  2. I hope Beuchelle beats out Henne. KC protected him often last season.
  3. You made my point. Its an ongoing conversation. If you keep responding you will get a response. Ha HA
  4. A rule? Depends on the team your facing, weather, in game injuries, wind , leading or trailing and many other situations. Plus: You cant just turn it on and off. Its easy for the coach, that includes Reid input, to simply tell the returner what to do on each opportunity. Plenty of time prior to the kick off to make a decision. You also dont want to let the opponent know what you are going to do. STRATEGY.

  6. Until they start kicking short. Its not a Toob thing its foolball. Sometime you need that big play or time is short and the 25 wont do it. Unless you have 13 seconds left and are playing a stupid coach that does not squib kick it. LOL
  7. Kansas City Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed’s car was “shot up” in Minden, Louisiana — his hometown — as first reported by TMZ Sports. The report noted that Sneed was not in the vehicle at the time. Police said the cornerback had not been accused of any wrongdoing.
  8. I think he is worth that contract. Great kick returner as well. Not sure why KC did not keep him in that role. Bet he puts up some decent numbers even though Chic is not great.
  9. Story Unfolding: He is ok: May be Random: https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2022/5/20/23133004/chiefs-cornerback-ljarius-sneeds-car-shot-up-louisiana-no-wrongdoing
  10. Agree. One thought. Lots of responses include the cap is going up. . The math still counts. Todays good deal is very relative. Still if you have 3-5 guys getting 20 and PM getting 40 , that doesnt leave much for the other 48 guys even as the cap increases. Veach has shown he is very careful with cap issues and that is a VERY GOOD THING.
  11. Thanks. Lots of good info has been shared. At this point I will trust that if KC gives him the extension they know what they have and it fits the long term plan. Hard to create a balanced team once your QB is off the rookie deal. Other teams will face the same challenges soon.
  12. Thanks for creating this topic. 73 responses and still going strong. Lots of good discussion and contribution.
  13. How would you feel if KC extends him now at 20 million+? Honest question.
  14. RBs remain available This could change at any minute, and for their sake, we certainly hope that opportunities come soon enough, but for now, former Chiefs running backs Darrel Williams and Jerick McKinnon are both still waiting for any real interest in free agency. The only interest at all shown to either player so far in free agency is an early-April visit for Williams with the Arizona Cardinals. However, nothing happened at that moment and the Cards invested a sixth-round pick in Keontay Ingram to go with a couple of rookie free agent flyers. It makes sense for the Cardinals to look at what these young players bring in further minicamps and even training camp before locking up a vet if they can solve their issues in-house. Given that most teams likely added a young back or two in the draft or thereafter, both McKinnon and Williams might have to wait for another couple of months before activity picks up. That’s unfair given what they brought to the field for the Chiefs in the last year, but that’s the nature of the running back role in the league these days. A player is either elite and chased early or treated as an afterthought. But for the record, it’s worth noting that Williams has ascended the Chiefs’ depth chart to become a much more well-rounded player than the one who first arrived back in 2018. His hands were a big surprise in ’21 and he could be a nice weapon in someone’s backfield next year. The same could be said for the spark that McKinnon can provide as a pass catcher and speedy rushing threat who can get to the edge and do some real damage. They should get their chances, but it’s a surprise to us that both players are still available.
  15. Yes thats all true. Difference. Currently nobody knows where a good LT may fall in the draft. KC will have a lot of picks. A Draft pick is 5 years of a reasonable contract vs 20 million plus per year. Can do a lot with that cap savings as demonstrated by the Hill trade. Hard to pay lots of guys 20 million plus.
  16. Always options. Hard to predict the future. KC could role the dice and trade up for the top LT in the draft. Free agents could be better than we know at this point. KC does not have to have an elite LT. Would be nice but teams win with serviceable tackles. If Brown plays elite pay him. If not what is the difference? Why pay elite money if not elite?
  17. So we agree in principle. I would not sign him to even 17 mill. Let him prove himself this season Then see what happens. Who knows. KC has like 10-12 picks next year. Maybe they trade up for a left tackle.
  18. Yes could well be correct. Again to clarify my point : find a replacement in next years draft or a free agent rather than 20 million and 4 or 5 years. If Brown is all world this season I will change my opinion. I hope he is. If not trade him. Note; The Jones thing has nothing to do with other players and moves.
