  1. I just noticed you started this thread. Thats funny. Start a thread and then complain its being discussed. LOL
  2. And on the other side, Veach remains optimistic about the future in Kansas City. Veach explained that the package the Miami Dolphins were willing to send the Chiefs (which wound up being five draft picks over the next two years) would allow them — in 2022 — to take as many defensive players as they did, all the while opening up the salary cap for years to come. The general manager added that he expects the Chiefs to be more prominent players in next offseason’s free agency period.
  3. https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2022/5/19/23130851/chiefs-chose-future-flexibility-over-tyreek-hill As it turned out, it was a telling one. The sixth-year GM continued to say that the organization had two goals entering the offseason: help the defense and find a way to keep wide receiver Tyreek Hill. The Chiefs achieved one of those goals, and the other — well, things changed as the offseason went along. We have addressed that on these pages before, but Veach provided further details during his call with Eisen. Seven of 10 members of the Chiefs’ 2022 draft class play defense. On the books, the Brown tag cost the Chiefs roughly $16.6 million. Edge rushers like Chandler Jones, Von Miller and Randy Gregory priced themselves out of Kansas City, agreeing to lucrative deals with other teams. “On the flip side, when the market went to where it went, if we did that, in addition to carrying an Orlando Brown tag, in addition to the contracts that we have, then there would be no way to address the defense — to do anything on the defensive side. So it was either an all-or-nothing scenario.
  4. Good points. I sure hope Andy does run it way more & use those backs on screens etc. Less RPO stuff. Oline should be really good at mauling.
  5. I dont disagree with your point. I guess my point is Brown is not worth 20 million for 5 years. Find a capable replacement in the draft or FA next year. Take a wait and see approach this season. If Brown shows up elite this year then maybe give him the big bucks. I would rather invest those dollars in a pass rushing elite DE.
  6. Good points for sure. Thuney may not be the move. Cinn went to the SB with an awful OL. KC does not need elite OL at every position. Yes protect PM is critical. Seems PM had a very good year but still a little off, for him, last year. My point is simple. I think an adequate LT can be found in FA or the Draft vs Investing 20 million on Brown for 5 years. If he has a great season this year that would change my perception. Maybe KC will stay in that wait and see mode?
  7. Did not say that. What is your insight? He is still on the team at around 14 million this year. That could have been used for a better player or players. So the deal keeps on keeping on. Yes I do know KC would have had to pay him regardless because it would have been dead money. Do you think he is a 14 million dollar DE?
  8. Perhaps you are on to something. Both Hunt & Veach stated Matheu would be resigned, yet? Who would have thought Hill would be gone? Ward gone? You can only pay so many guys 20 million.
  9. You are so insightful. Yes nobody should post an opinion that goes against what the Chiefs brass has done because their shit does not ever stink. They are flawless. No discussions and please only make a point once. We should just be followers. Yes I know they will likely sign the guy. Yes I know they are much more informed and are the pros. Note: What about Sorenson, Neiman, D-rob, Hardman etc comments? Must be 25,000 references? LOL
  10. Sorry but Its my opinion. Thats all. No need to be frustrated. If not Thuney then find a replacement in free agency. Brown is not elite. Not worth 20 million.
  11. Horrible trade and sign. Machine Gun Clark and his enormous salary, kept KC from another Super Bowl appearance.
  12. I sure hope not. 28th rated tackle. Chiefs are paying Thuney huge money. Trade Brown after the season and move Thuney to LT. Seems KC is stacked at guard.
  13. Eagles signed CB James Bradberry to a one-year, $10 million contract. Bradberry will form a cornerback tandem with Darius Slay, boosting the Eagles' coverage unit. Slay ranked seventh among cornerbacks in Pro Football Focus' defensive grades last season. Bradberry is coming off a down year where he ranked just 103rd in defensive grade, but he ranked 12th in 2020. If he can return to form in Philadelphia, the Eagles
  14. Whatever. I guess those college educations dont teach them how to listen to their doctors etc. Its life. Everyone dies. Some prefer to go for it some do not.
  15. So they need baby sitters. Its life. They get to make their own decisions. Maybe you would like to set the age from 18 -30. LOL
  16. I sure hope not. Let the young guys play. Team should get better as the season goes along. Just get in the playoffs. Wild card is fine. Once in anything can happen.
  17. Sure: They are humans too. They are adults. They are making decisions based on some known risks. Nobody is guaranteed tomorrow. They are choosing to go for it. I would too. If something unfortunate happens its not on anyone.
  18. Swinney may have unintentionally broke a little news — the fact that only four teams in the NFL were comfortable enough for Ross to take the field. Still, the longtime Clemson coach is high on Ross, one of the key players in the 2018 national title win over Alabama. The hope for the Chiefs echoes Swinney’s notion — that as Ross gets healthy, he may be able to turn back the clock to his freshman and sophomore seasons, when he combined for 112 catches for 1,865 yards and 17 touchdowns in 28 games. At 6 feet 4 and 205 pounds, Ross certainly has the measurables. But he will need to show out in the offseason program and training camp, with a projected two receiver spots available on the Chiefs’ 53-man roster. Considering only four teams cleared him medically, it may be wise to temper expectations. In Swinney’s mind, there is no doubt about Ross’ ceiling. He said that if the wideout stays healthy, he could be “the greatest free agent ever.”
  19. Maybe using others for pressure in pass rushing situations will work. MIKE and SAM linebacker Nick Bolton replacing Anthony Hitchens, Leo Chenal replacing Nick Bolton Ron: This linebacker group has become one of the most exciting — or even best — linebacker groups in the NFL? If you’re talking about a trio of linebackers. The addition of Chenal completes the position, and it’s because of what he can do. He was a dominant run defender in college, but he’s shown some skills that could make him a unique, change-of-pace edge rusher as that SAM linebacker. Matt: I’m really excited to see Leo Chenal in that role. It’s a very specific spot, but knowing what you have in Bolton (MIKE) and Gay (WILL), it’s a nice upgrade. You can bring some violence with Garlaftis Karlaftis on the strong side and Chenal outside of him, and send both guys after a tackle and tight end, it won’t be fun for them, but I’m looking forward to it.
  20. Good article. Points out Ingram was just decent but nothing special.
  21. Yes: Lots of picks set up again next year. I think Veach may have found he is liking having lots of picks to out maneuver the other teams in the draft. His moves up and down this past draft were well done. Not every move will work out perfect but having more flexibility worked. I like this approach better than trading high picks for guys and then having to sign them to big contracts. Guys like to think Clark was worth it because no super bowl win without him. Maybe but maybe not. Without knowing what other players Kc may have had signed instead, how play calling would have been different and defense play calling would have been different no outcome is certain. One play , or a few sacks, did not decide those wins. In fact if Jimmy G does not overthrow a wide open Sanders the Clark attitude would be much different. KC gave up high picks and then signed him to one of the worse contracts in NFL History that is still hurting this team. I think Veach and Reid have seen the light.
  22. He may have been critical on a bad pass rushing team. Critical or not it was still not nearly good enough. Cinn allowed 9 sacks the week before yet KC had almost no pressure in the title game. Point is if you want last years results fine. I think Veach & Reid have a different idea. I think KC is refreshing the roster. They are not going to come out and say that but I see a clear change in direction. Maybe a few less wins this year but sets the team up for another good run of 4-5 years. The PM rookie deal is long gone. Need to change the approach.
  23. This is not a big deal. Im sure Veach remembers the lack of pass rush in the loss to Cinn. I called it prior to that game and many here laughed stating it would not be an issue. Well it was then and would still be now even with Ingram. KC knows exactly what they had in Ingram. He was not a priority. Ill trust that Veach knows what he has, has executed his plan and must feel KC has improved. It may not work out but Ingram was not a huge difference maker.
