  1. Never stated that and yes nothing is for certain. I think its easier to find a decent receiver later than a potential very needed defense upgrade.
  2. UGH. Use the picks for defense please. No receiver is a sure thing so take a couple later. Seems that Hill guy was a late pick. We dont need another Hardman or CEH reach. Both players are good but not worth their position in the draft. KC needs some pass rushers that can contribute NOW. Current. Safety weaker than last year, corner weaker than last year, pass rush even worse than last year, d-line weaker than last year. Chiefs need some big time draft picks on D.
  3. Maybe PM will discount his salary this year to get a veteran proven talent WR? Not restructure an actual here you go extra 10 million. Of course it wont happen. So what PM wants vs what he gets is really not his decision. Did he not get two veterans already?
  4. I predict KC drafts a left tackle and maybe signs a free agent early next off season if needed. Then then let Brown walk or trade him. Its not that he isnt a very good tackle its MONEY. If the draft or free agent opportunity is not there then tag Brown again.
  5. Do you think this guy is better than Ward? I do not like giving up picks and paying a guy big bucks. If this guy isnt way better than Ward then could have kept Ward? Maybe Bradberry will be cheaper.
  6. Thanks. I think you have to ad in who was signed as a result of freeing up cap money.
  7. If it was that simple sure. Thats not reality and there is much more those guys do than just being, your point, a gunner. Teams with lousy ST dont put talent out there. Every year at roster cut down guys think OH NO KC cut those guys. Few of those cuts are ever picked up and they return to the practice squad. That shows the rosters are not so deep that a GUNNER or WHATEVER cant be kept. Every play in the game is important.
  8. Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports that Giants CB James Bradberry will be traded. "It's a matter of when, not if," Leonard says. Leonard lists the Texans, Chiefs, and Colts as possible landing spots for the veteran corner. Bradberry has a $21 million cap hit, though it would be closer to $13 million for whoever acquires him and that number could possibly be re-negotiated as part of a new deal. The Giants have been working to move Bradberry since before free agency started and are likely seeking a mid-rounder.
  9. Special teams is important. Very important. So its not a waste of a roster spot if the guy is talented in that role. It is likely more than one spot.
  10. I would like KC to do enough to compete and make the playoffs but not sign guys to big free agent contract in hope they make the SB more likely.. Reset the team this year to go for it in 2023 and a few years beyond. Patching this many holes is not my preference. The best team & roster does not guarantee a SB win anyway.
  11. How ever you want to look at it its 6. Not a big deal. It happens.
  12. Only 6 were turn overs. Thats not a lot of fumbles. 1.5 per season. Its football.
  13. x Pro Football Network's Aaron Wilson reports the Chiefs have interest in trading for Giants CB James Bradberry. Kansas City is one of "several teams" in the mix for Bradberry, who's had a quiet trade market to this point. With Bradberry owed $13.5 million in 2022, the Giants are expected to cover part of Bradberry's salary if traded. 28-year-old Bradberry didn't live up to his contract last season but had four interceptions and is a year removed from the Pro Bowl. The Chiefs have also looked into signing free agent CB Stephon Gilmore
  14. He has 6 fumbles in four years. Not a big deal.
  15. Im not sure anyone would give up much for an average RB.
  16. Chiefs signed RB Ronald Jones to a one-year contract. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports Jones "can earn up to $5 million" with incentives. Jones was limited to three spot starts behind Leonard Fournette last year, posting his lowest rushing total (428) since his rookie year. The 2018 second-rounder never live up to his draft status in Tampa but had 1,000 scrimmage yards in both 2019 and 2020. In Kansas City, Jones will take over as the top backup to Clyde Edwards-Helaire, replacing free agents Jerick McKinnon and Darrel Williams. Jones should see pass-down snaps in Kansas City and gives the Chiefs a hedge to Edwards-Helaire, who's missed 10 games over the last two seaso
  17. A report from Pro Football Network’s Aaron Wilson says Carter’s new contract is for one year. According to a FanSided report, the deal is worth $1.77 million. Carter, 27, entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick by the Carolina Panthers in 2018. He’s now signing his second NFL contract after appearing in 65 Carolina games, totaling 178 tackles (88 solo), including 88 tackles last season alone. He became a front-line player in 2021, starting all 17 of the Panthers’ games as their MIKE linebacker. But he can do a little bit of everything — which fits right in line with what defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo likes to see in his linebackers. Carter has also been useful on special teams, where he had 27% of that unit’s snaps in 2021. In each of the three previous seasons, he was on the field for at least 57% of the special-teams snaps.
  18. Chiefs signed LB Jermaine Carter, formerly of the Panthers. Carter started all 17 games for Carolina last season, recording an unimpactful 88 tackles and little else across 78% of the snaps. He should get a chance to start in a weak Kansas City linebacker corps.
  19. MVS and Hardman on the field at the same time. Speed still alive & well in KC.
  20. Not sure why we discuss anything? Its all great.
  21. The Athletic's Nate Taylor believes the Chiefs offense without Tyreek Hill "will utilize running backs such as Clyde Edwards-Helaire more as receivers." Taylor said Mecole Hardman will take over as the team's primary downfield threat and Travis Kelce "will still receive plenty of targets in the middle of the field, but the Chiefs’ offense will likely have to be more methodical instead of relying on its ability to have a quick-strike attack through Hill." We saw the Chiefs go from the league's premiere quick strike offense to a dink-and-dunk unit that used Hill, the team's backs, and Kelce in the intermediate part of the field as opposing defenses dropped two safeties deep. That led to Patrick Mahomes posting the NFL's lowest air yards per attempt in the second half of the season. Edwards-Helaire's pass-catching role will depend on whether Kansas City re-signs Jerick McKinnon, the team's most effective RB in 2021. Chiefs running backs in 2021 saw a combined 20 percent target share.
  22. Yes no doubt. I was just starting a conspiracy theory. Looks like it did not go far. LOL
