I’m not panicking… I am pissed & frustrated. I’m calling it now: our defense is not going to be able to get off the field because the QB has all day to throw it. Don’t believe me? Do you think that’s a good sack total for a starting NFL defensive end? Do you think Frank Clark is going to play better or worse this year? I will bet you a fine chicken dinner that Clark does even worse stats-wise in 2022 than in 2021. I will also bet he gets some sort of suspension handed down by the NFL for his legal troubles (I think he gets convicted or pleads guilty to a lesser charge), thereby reducing his playing time & production further. Hell, I will be utterly shocked if we even get 100% out of Machine Gun Clark in 1/2 the games he plays in this year. To sum it up: we’ll have an older & probably worthless Clark, no J. Reed, no Melvin, a rookie, and CJ95. That is neglecting our D-Line & right now it is worse than it was in 2021 (when it was 29th in the league in QB pressures/sacks).

The facts speak for themselves. We were 29th in QB pressures & our DL has gotten worse in the offseason. I guess the worst the DL can perform is 3 spots below their 2021 performance. We’ll see who’s the buttercup when the DL shits the bed this season. I am assuming Veach takes no further action on the DL this offseason based upon what he’s done so far.

Son of a bitch!!!!! They really need to do something to improve the defensive line because what they have done so far is completely inadequate. This is not an indictment on Karlaftis, but they haven’t done jack-shit besides drafting Karlaftis to address the defensive line. I like Veach & all…. However, he’s really shit the bed in addressing & improving our defensive line. We had one (1) sack on Burrows in the AFCCG. The Titans sacked Burrow like nine (9) times the previous week. Veach said revamping the DL was a priority of his at the very beginning of the offseason. His actions say otherwise. The problem is DL was our biggest weakness as a team. We were 29th in QB pressures and/or sacks in 2021. Veach’s statement that it was a priority at the beginning of the offseason shows they were aware DL is a major issue. Right now our DL looks worse than it did at the end of the season. Having the best defensive backfield in the world won’t mean shit if the opposing QB has 30 seconds to throw the ball. I have zero confidence in Machine Gun Clark putting forth 100% effort. So basically we have CJ95 & a rookie. I am pretty pissed about this. Veach better f-ing do something to address this issue & he better do it quick.

I feel like we got steals with almost all of our draft picks. The RT is a diamond in the rough IMO. Also, I am very high on Ross. I think we got a really good player in him for nothing. Don’t know much about the UDFA LB they got. What is his name?

I am really rooting for this kid. I see potential in him & feel like he was overlooked by teams like Tre Smith was last year.

I am calling it now: I think this kid has real talent. He gets hurt, then has to deal with the 2020 fiasco of a season. After that Trevor Lawrence is gone to the pros so he doesn’t have the best QB throwing to him. He has talent & now has PM15 throwing him passes with Andy as his coach. Don’t be surprised if this kid kicks ass when given the opportunity.

I wanted us to draft this kid. Glad we got him. I look at him like Tre Smith. I believe he may be a diamond in the rough who fell because of injury, but is Uber-talented.

Ingram, Clowney, Houston, and Hughes are still available (I believe). We need to sign 2 more defensive linemen. Veach said shoring up the DL was a priority, but the only thing he has done so far is re-sign machine gun Clark & draft Karlaftis. Veach needs to add more to the defensive line.

I am a fan of the 4th round pick. However, I was hoping we could get Calvin Austin III … we were close. Am I the only one worried that I am jinxing our draft in that I think it looks pretty decent? Other than the 2008 draft I have always been skeptical of our draft results on draft day.

I would like to see us take that DE out of Iowa State today. i can’t really complain about any of Veach’s moves. Hopefully this draft class produces in the future. It sure has the potential to produce.
