  1. BTW something that may change the math... if Rice is suspended to start the season. I think they may keep 4 tight ends this year if they like Irv Smith, so that does say probably only 6 receivers, depending on what they do at RB. The numbers: Locks: Worthy, Rice, Hollywood, Watson, Skyy, Toney (to me in that order, although the team probably has Toney ahead of Skyy) I know some will want to argue about Skyy and Toney being locks but I think Reid has been pretty clear about wanting to continue to develop both of them. Bubble: Justyn Ross, Remegio, Powell, Washington. The rest are camp fodder.
  2. Bet you wish your head was pointless. Put a hat on and maybe no one will notice.
  3. I said COD freak. The difference in those COD numbers are the difference in being 98th percentile and 20 to 40th percentile. Kind of important for a guy that has to make his impact in the slot as a smaller receiver. I'm not saying Remegio can't do it, just that it is hard to see him making the team this year. He's gonna have to grab a spot at receiver cause I don't see punt return alone getting him a spot.
  4. Oh I already think he's right there, right now. But I'm probably biased. Personally, I think the right question to determine the goat is: if I'm starting the NFL from scratch, right now, and all NFL players in history are in the draft, who's the number 1 overall pick? Personally I think the answer is obvious.
  5. It's not slightly less athletic. Edelman was a COD freak.
  6. Carson Steele Couldn't remember his name. Not sure why, sounds like a fake stage name. Or a porn name.
  7. Dark horse who may have a legit shot to me is the kid out of ucla that looks like Thor. Mostly because he can play FB amd we don't have anyone else on the roster that can do that. We all know Andy loves FBs, and I do think he'll blame some of the short yardage woes last year on not carrying one for the first time. The reason he might not is if they other coaches convince Andy they can get better with using the H back like last year. Wasn't great results last year though.
  8. Pretty sure I blasted Remigio last year lol. So let's do it again. I think he's an even longer shot now than last year. I just don't see it unless he's just so much better than everyone else. 1) glut of receivers 2) the change to kickoff rules. With his size I think he's punt returner only now. They'll want bigger returners on kickoffs I would think. 3) Worthy is a great punt returner and they have other guys who can also do it well that we'll definitely keep... 4) His profile does not exactly scream that he is gonna dominate...
  9. Honestly I think all he has to do is get close to the superbowl total and keep playing the way he has. I'm not sure how much total yards will play in, or any other stat for that matter. Unless he just blows by Brady in superbowls, I imagine it would be more like the Jordan v. LeBron debates, about half and half with the pundits.
  10. Interesting take. Obviously I don't think there's a legit discussion right now. But... if he 3peat's?
  11. Yeah easy to be excited and let's hope Veach struck gold with Suamataia. If it makes y'all feel better, it is absolutely possible for a quick passing game to also be good at the deep passing game, it just takes multiple really fast receivers. Case in point is Miami. Most advanced stats have Tua at or near the top of the league in time to throw (I think he was fastest to throw last year or close to the top) and deep passing metrics, as well as deep passing completions. And these were not just short passes with YAC, this is in air yards metrics as well (or how far he threw it). But that all depends on Reek and Waddle getting deep fast.
  12. Can't feel sorry for him. Hope that extra whatever money was worth getting ring blocked by Pat.
  13. BTW we do need better play at LT than what Wanya showed in those few games last year, but hopefully we get some good competition going. They just need to be as good as Donovan Smith was, which is not a high bar to clear. Minimally competent. As Mitch Schwartz used to say, "die a slow death". That's all you need with Pat.
  14. Trent should have 2. Except.... Mahomes lol
  15. I mean sure we need tackles but we've also seen Pat do well throwing deep with guys like Cam Irving and Andrew F'in Wylie protecting him.
  16. Personally I'd just like to see some on the job training for the young tackles and let them get reps. With as fast as Hollywood and Worthy are, Andy can build gameplans around the quick passing game. Get the ball out fast while they're learning. Meanwhile in 2.5 seconds or less those 2 receivers can be 20 yards down the field which still opens things up for the tight ends.
  17. Not so sure about that premise. It will always be hard to be a tackle for Pat just cause of how he likes to move around and manipulate the D. While it's awesome it is hard on your tackles. You could be doing great, but now he's not where you expect him to be, which can lead to holds if you're not careful. By any metric we like, I think we can all agree that last years offense sucked in the regular season. Most of the issues can be traced to the receivers though. Inability to separate, drops, not making good sight adjustments, etc... the list was long. The tackles were average but Pat has shown he can make that work. Reminder, the year before we led the league in offense with average tackle play. Same the year before that. The difference was the receiving corps. Add to that it is 1000% easier to find a legit wr than a legit tackle, just due to supply and demand, and I think a vet receiver might make a bigger difference to the offense. All that said I'd wait and let the young guys get all the reps and to get more clarity on Rice's situation.
  18. No one is coming off a stud LT.
  19. Sorry all. Didn't mean to get political in this forum. I'll show myself out.
  20. Unless you're her dog I suppose 😃
  21. I mean, he may have practically killed them but in his defense... they probably were a little hard to train.
  22. Hollywood can actually catch. What a novelty for our team!
  23. Would love to see the rookie take that LT spot over Wanya. He has a much higher ceiling.
