  1. I think some of you need to learn how to read. They haven't started negotiating due to lack of representation so he hasn't asked for anything yet. The article posted said one of the agents pitched him on asking to be the highest paid (which i would expect at least 1 agent to do) but he's still interviewing agents. Then the blogger speculated on the amount if that's the way it goes. This is as far as we are right now. Sure he may end up picking that agent and asking for the moon but it's anyone's guess right now.
  2. https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/lists/kansas-city-chiefs-otas-week-1-takeaways-andy-reid-patrick-mahomes-travis-kelce-justin-watson/ Justyn Ross wasn't the only Justin turning heads Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports Everyone knows about Justyn Ross’ standout one-handed catch by now, but he’s not the only Justin impressing out of the receiver group. Asked to name someone who has impressed out of the new crop of receivers, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes named reserve/future signing Justin Watson. A former fifth-round draft pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers out of the University of Pennsylvania in the 2018 NFL draft, Watson has caught his new quarterbacks’ attention. “Watson has been a pleasant surprise,” Mahomes said. “That dude can roll. I remember he came down to Texas and I threw with him the first day. I called (Brett) Veach and I was like, “Wait, how fast is this guy?” Because he was running so fast that I was late on my throws. So he’s got out here these first two days and had two great days.” Watson set the Ivy League record for most receiving yards in conference play at Penn. In the NFL, Watson has just 23 career catches for 258 yards and two touchdowns over four seasons with the Bucs. He is coming off of a knee injury, but based on Mahomes’ comments, it’d seem like he is fully recovered. “When we have reps like this where we are rotating a lot of different receivers in, you get to see guys step up and make plays,” Mahomes said. “Today, (Justin Watson) made a big play in the corner of the endzone. It is important for these guys to let them have chances and when they get their chances they’re going to go out there and try to make the most of them.”
  3. I feel like Kelce should have caught more of those. Must be slipping in his old age.
  4. Yes. But it took me 10 watches and pausing to figure it out. My first thought was no but he catches it cleanly while the back foot was still touching
  5. Yards per attempt for Williams last year was 3.9, his 4th in this offense CEH y/a his rookie year was 4.4 But ok
  6. Shifting the conversation, what do y'all think would be a fair contract to player and team for OBJ.
  7. The Mike Rose undrafted mystery solved. Fyi Jim Nagy is the Senior Bowl director.
  8. Do you though? You keep using his 2021 season grade as proof that he's no better than average when his career grades and season improvement tend to show otherwise. I'm just saying, if we want to get rid of him it seems smarter to do so after this season when we might have actual options to find a good replacement. Note, I'm not advocating we get rid of him.
  9. Keep Brown 100%. None of those dline guys fix the problem either this year or more importantly for the future (there are legitimate reasons they're still on the street). And your OLine went from a strength to a problem. PFF grades are cumulative so if you haven't figured out now from all the posts on it that it isn't representative of what he was becoming as the season went along I don't know what to tell you. I guess just keep beating that horse?
  10. Hate to break it to you folks but his market value is probably closer to the 23m that spotrac has than the 20m getting thrown around here. With the cap getting set to explode, left tackles are going to start breaking the market like the receivers did. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/kansas-city-chiefs/orlando-brown-jr-25182/market-value/
  11. Hardman is gone cause he'll get bank (see Kirk, Christian). If CEH is gone it will be because RB's are eminently replaceable. The other 2 are gone because they could not consistently beat press and that's how teams were playing us; double the big dogs and press the rest. Mahomes has always had happy feet snaps, but in general settles in pretty well once he knows where the pocket will be. You could literally see them figuring it out as the season went on and OBJ and the line in general got better.
  12. Fwiw, after week 5 PFF had him as a low top 10 rated pass blocker iirc, and the number 2 overall run blocker for the season. He had the most pass set snaps at tackle in the league. First 5 games brought his overall grade down quite a bit since season grades are cumulative.
  13. Don't forgot option B also has the added benefit of possibly getting Mahomes The Franchise murdered on the field. So.... yay?
  14. Do you think we are a worse team for keeping him for a year considering cutting him would not have freed up this money for another player.
  15. 12.061m showing now on spotrac. I don't think we had to offer Ingram 4m to place the UFA tag so I'm guessing that may be why it didn't go up that much.
  16. Yeah that one took me a while. Totally worth it. 😄
  17. The school actually brought in multiple specialists from around the country. With the potential liability you really think they would have let him play without doing their due diligence?
  18. Go ask Ryan Shazier how fast it can end. He was perfectly healthy. No one is guaranteed anything in life, and that includes you and me, and we don't even play a violent sport. Well, i guess you do... if you count jazz. Which I do.
  19. I doubt it's more than a 6th. Could be a 7th. Depends on the contract, just basing that off what he got last year.
  20. We only had to offer him slightly more than we paid last year to place the UFA tag. Considering the big discount we got with Pittsburgh paying most of his salary I think the min to place the tag was only about 1.6 or 1.7m. Value is probably around what Pittsburgh paid which was around 4m or something. I mean we basically paid 600k to rent him to be a sparkplug for us last year and will likely get our pick back in the comp formula. We do still need to add a rotational rusher whether at end or tackle.
  21. I mean he was entirely draftable. Big 12 defensive player of the year last year. Also led the FBS in INT's by a LB. Good player but not the best against the rush and lacks top end speed so the question is can he be as good in coverage as he was in college. Can probably be a backup for 3 positions though and has decent short range speed with very good change of direction so he does have a good shot if he can put it together on ST.
