  1. They just converted his salary to signing bonus though and added 3 more void years to spread it out, it wasn't a restructure on the bonuses they paid in February. Patrick could do that but his salary this year is only 1.5 mil so not much gained by doing that.
  2. Good chart posted today. Here's your chances of getting an average player over their first 6 years in the league in the FA era. Success Rate (12+ AV), 1989-2016 Virtual Round Success Rate 1 77.8 2 56.1 3 33.5 4 27.0 5 21.7 6 11.5 7 10.7 8 7.1
  3. Yes we know athletic scores don't mean everything. I was just posting a comp. As I said to someone else, obviously you don't draft just based on testing, that would be daft.
  4. Wouldn't surprise me if he drops due to the injuries and glut of receivers
  5. Yeah I'm not on the deebo train. AH can carry that torch.
  6. Yep. I'd be thrilled with Watson. Most of these receivers are gonna be limited usage year 1 anyway.
  7. Or you could just draft him, using you know, a draft pick.
  8. I prefer one in the first and them just look for value later. Would love to grab Calvin Austin on day 2 as well. Really awesome routes. If he had a few more inches in height he'd be a first rounder.
  9. Pickens is a different receiver to me. He doesn't have the same quicks and he's more of a long strider, but he is much much more of a "fuck it he down there somewhere" type of "my ball" receiver. There's a few of those in this draft. London obviously, and Ross. Treylon has some of that. Alec Pierce has a bit of that. Ross scares me with the back. I think he drops to a late day 3 flyer.
  10. Interesting comp. Little more quicks and more explosion with Watson but yeah pretty damn close. It's like Valdes-Scantling leveled up.
  11. Not always but more often than not. Not a lot of unathletic guys make it in the NFL and usually they have other skills and technique to compensate. Obviously you don't just draft based on athletic testing that would be stupid.
  12. Meh people don't pay attention either. It's like the thought that there are a ton of receivers in this draft. Sure there are but if you drill down the quality will go fast and after that you're just betting on traits and hoping to get lucky.
  13. Buffalo had a terrific defense. Look where it got them. Not saying we don't need D, just saying keep your strengths strong while building the D. Right now our receiver corps is not where it needs to be.
  14. Don't fuck with his college. You'll wake up with a yard full of land mines.
  15. For the record, I'm more on the let's go get some receivers in the draft side.
  16. I keep seeing the deebo comp on treylon and there is some usage the same, mostly in the short stuff, but past that I didn't see them winning matchups in the same way. That lack of agility testing showed on the field for me. Treylon was more of a catch point bully, whereas deebo is getting separation. Don't care about the bench numbers with Treylon as you could see the strength on the film. The inability to get separation is where the concern is and why I have him as a 2nd round guy but he is a very intriguing player, mostly cause he has some drake london in him with being a my ball, win at the catch point type of guy. I would have liked to see better explosion metrics with him and I might be more comfortable with him in the first. He also looked faster to me on long routes than his time suggests but that was about the only place.
  17. I actually have watched quite a bit of the Bama offense while looking at Jameson. The other guy I like a ton in the draft as well. He's super underrated. Btw no googling, his name is John Metchie III. Also injured himself. Really smooth receiver. Probably put him in the 2nd round range by watching him, but with no testing he may drop.
  18. I mean I get why they didn't throw him the ball. When Jameson Williams has a tough time cracking your rotation you ain't throwing the ball to the fucking tight end. Speaking of which, I like Jameson better than both of the OSU receivers this year. How the hell did he not get playing time up there? Did he just blossom that much in bama?
  19. He's definitely not kelce but he's got some talent. I like the Rucker kid but Ohio state tight ends scare me. I couldn't find a ton of receiving reps but he looked pretty good to me. They just never threw him the ball.
  20. Cook is a good player. Nick Cross is too.
  21. In the games I watched he ran really good routes. Obviously looked better before the injury but he came back too fast I think. Guy wanted to play so can't blame him. Pickens is a high ceiling player. I like him a lot.
