  1. Interesting and brilliant. Considering he was hurt most of last year, most any incentives would probably be considered not likely to be earned and count on next years cap. Will likely only include the base salary vs cap this year.
  2. That's just objectively not true. You can't go by overall stats. It was very clear during the last 2 seasons that our X could not consistently get off press, which strained the offense when we played better teams.
  3. Not to mention there is no receiver in the NFL that's a more perfect match for Pat's skillset.
  4. Correct. Simple conversion from roster to signing. Money is the same for Pat.
  5. Fyi there's no downside for Mahomes to agree to that. On his side it's just how the dollars are accounted for in the cap. He gets the check either way, whether it's accounted for as a roster bonus or a signing bonus. The restructure just moves it from roster to signing.
  6. Yes it's built into his contract that team can restructure without his permission, every year if they want.
  7. Again, Mahomes has nothing to do with restructures. The terms of the contract make it so it's entirely the team's option.
  8. They can't submit it until tomorrow. There is no deal to do, they can do it without Pat's permission. They just have to cut the check and submit the paperwork
  9. Hmmmmmmmm. I mean I'd sign him in a second if the medical is ok
  10. MVPat won't restructure until tomorrow. His bonus is due then and you can't restructure a bonus until it's paid
  11. RT and an X and we're in business. Tbh none of the edge rushers added move the needle that much for me. Za'darius was by far the best of the bunch and he was neutralized by going to the Ravens, cause you know, they suck. Wake me up when any team wins the superbowl because they're the best rushing team and not also an explosive passing offense and I might agree with the rest of that. Otherwise my opinion remains to surround your all world QB with too many weapons in the passing game for the other side to deal with.
  12. If we want to throw money at someone they should be able to play the X at a high level.
  13. At this point we need to build through the draft. Not by overpaying for mediocre, old and/or broken players. With where we are capwise I don't think the plan was to hit the first wave of FA hard. Frankly I love that all these teams are loading up on these pass rushers cause it means some really good ones will fall in the draft. This is one of the better years for edge players we've seen in the draft. One more thing. At this point last year our oline rebuild consisted of Joe Thuney and nothing else. Ok you ladies carry on. I'm gonna go start some rumors about Jermaine Johnson and his massive drug problem that I just made up.
  14. Me watching Chiefs fans on Twitter and here as each day of FA passes...
  15. It was a smart contract on their end as well as Patrick is still getting the money. They should teach the structure in contract class. Btw you can thank Brandt Tilis as the genius behind this contract. It's so good he actually got some GM run last year even though he's just a cap/contract guy.
  16. Basically mahomes contract mostly consists of low salaries and the bulk of his money in roster bonuses tied to each league year. The contract states KC can convert roster bonuses to signing bonuses without Mahomes permission, allowing them to spread each hit put over 5 years. Normally that would eventually be an issue however with the massive length of Patrick's contract it allows KC to do this every year through 2027 without having the bill come due (relatively speaking - cap hit vs % of total cap remains digestible). After 2027 they will likely restructure the whole thing or start over. It was a brilliant contract.
