List of problems in order of actual importance:
1) Turnovers
-Big gap-
2) Pass rush
-Massively huge gaping chasm and you can't actually see where it ends-
3) Any stat or phrase that begins with run or rushing
Only missing a 5th? Got a 6th back from Ravens and an extra 7th from Pats for Durant I think. 5th goes to Ravens. Traded a 6th and 7th for Mike Hughes?
Stop turning the ball over, start winning games. This isn't brain science. 29th in total giveaways through 3 games. No other stat correlates so closely to winning.
No doubt we need to keep improving. But that right there is the one thing we need to do to turn this around.
Like you though I agree we can do much better for the money and he should be gone this next offseason. He's a good player getting paid great player money. Veach is gonna have to Sorcerer up 2 defensive ends this offseason most likely. In the meantime I will continue to root for him and acknowledge what he does well.
Sure its concerning. But let's look at the big picture:
Defenses usually are behind early in the season
This was against 2 of the best 3 rushing teams and we have typically not been great against the run early in the season. A lot of defenses end up this way early. Early season tackling has sucked leaguewide since they instituted the new practice rules in the prior cba.
We've literally been to the AFCCG with no defense, worse defenders and a much worse DC and position coaches.
We've seen Spags turn a D around before mid season, in 2019. Seem to remember we did ok that year.
Contrary to popular opinion around here we have talent at all levels of this defense. They just need to get it together. Chris Jones did not do well this game. He'll get better.
Some people on this board seem to panic after every loss (not talking bout you) and start spewing verbal diarrhea like children. The players suck and have no talent, the coaches forgot how to coach, we can't gameplan blah blah blah. Meh. Some of y'all need to calm your tits and maybe go spark one up.
Meh donkeys played possibly the 2 worst non Texans teams in the league.
Raiders are still the Raiders. Beating those depleted Ravens and Steelers olines don't show me much.
Expect them to keep rolling though. The party continues next week with the Jets and a QBless Fins team.
Harbaugh usually has his team competitive but KC will be too much for them. Wink can't get pressure without blitzing us and Mahomes eats the blitz for breakfast... again. Average margin of victory the last 3 games vs Ravens has been about a TD. Think this one we pull away in 2nd half.
Bil, teams are already doing that and have been playing pedal to the metal against us for two years. Case in point all the 4th downs the Browns went for. Teams dig deep in the playbook when we're on the docket.
