  1. Yep. Strong side backer comes off the field when they go to coverage looks. Gay not ready for nickel snaps, and only just started getting some coverage snaps vs the raiders. Give it time. Spags was more worried about buffalo's passing game than rushers, and rightfully so.
  2. Bell signing is about CEH (mentor, share the load, let CEH learn - remember this was the plan with Damian until he opted out) and further forcing teams out of that "play everyone in coverage zone" looks.
  3. I saw that comment but the cited article is for college and HS rules. This is all I found in the nfl rulebook. SECTION 3 INELIGIBLE PLAYER DOWNFIELD ARTICLE 1. LEGAL AND ILLEGAL ACTS. On a scrimmage play during which a legal forward pass is thrown, an ineligible offensive player, including a T-formation quarterback, is not permitted to move more than one yard beyond the line of scrimmage before the pass has been thrown. Item 1. Legally Downfield. An ineligible player is not illegally downfield if, after initiating contact with an opponent within one yard of the line of scrimmage during his initial charge: (a) he moves more than one yard beyond the line while legally blocking or being blocked by an opponent (b) after breaking legal contact with an opponent more than one yard beyond the line of scrimmage, he remains stationary until a forward pass is thrown (c) after losing legal contact with an opponent more than one yard beyond the line of scrimmage, he is forced behind the line of scrimmage by an opponent, at which time he is again subject to normal blocking restrictions for an ineligible offensive player. Note: If an ineligible offensive player moves beyond the line while legally blocking or being blocked by an opponent, an eligible offensive player may catch a pass between them and the line of scrimmage. Item 2. Illegally Downfield. An ineligible offensive player is illegally downfield if: (a) he moves more than one yard beyond the line of scrimmage without contacting an opponent (b) after losing contact with an opponent within one yard of the line of scrimmage, he advances more than one yard beyond the line of scrimmage (c) after losing contact with an opponent more than one yard beyond the line of scrimmage, he continues to move toward his opponent’s goal line. Penalty: For ineligible offensive player downfield: Loss of five yards from the previous spot. ARTICLE 2. AFTER PASS IS THROWN. After the ball leaves the passer’s hand, ineligible pass receivers can advance more than one yard beyond the line of scrimmage, or beyond the position reached by their initial charge, provided that they do not block or contact a defensive player, who is more than one yard beyond the line of scrimmage, until the ball is touched by a player of either team. Such prior blocking and/or contact is pass interference if it occurs in the vicinity of where the ball is thrown. See 8-3-1-Note above for exception when blocker maintains continuous contact.
  4. I usually don't complain about the refs but the wife noticed it too. Some really bad calls and non-calls.
  5. No coincidence that the easy late TD was the only drive we sat back in off coverage. Spags was mixing it up. He quit that shit the next drive and went back to being aggressive.
  6. Not only are they not good they were actively not playing the run most of the game. This is a good example from Seth of how worried their LBs were about the pass. Watch what they're doing.
  7. Oh I see thats an old one from at the time of the signing. Good breakdown on kilgore
  8. I would like to see those guys work against an actual good NFL defensive line, especially in a pass heavy game. Protection was good last night considering the circumstances though. We'll see how they do moving forward. Allegretti looks capable. Kilgore I'm not sure about but so far good find by Veach considering he was considered almost an afterthought signing late in camp.
  9. Touche. Which is also what I say when he touches my legs.
  10. He's probably distraught so be nice. Thats his favorite player.
  11. You mentally picture SPFD with his hands between a man's legs?
  12. Meh if I was you I'd be more worried about why my qb regressed this year. He somehow became a worse passer. Didn't know that was possible. We'll be fine btw, but thanks for your concern.
  13. They are graded on individual play on matchups irrespective of what the other players are doing.
  14. I played center in 7th grade for half a season. Pretty sure I'm the most qualified to judge Reiter. He's ok.
  15. pff has reiter as the highest graded pass blocker among kc lineman (over 80 grade, which is good) The guys that do kc breakdowns for the most part say he's not the problem. Just an FYI. If the guy is dogshit I'm not seeing it. Are you maybe going off last year?
  16. One thing I like about Veach is he has embraced the Belichickian philosophy of securing your core players on 2nd contracts and filling in with cheap, good vets chasing a ring You can only do that if you have a great team vets believe can get them a ring, of course.
  17. I liked Morse but Reiter is playing close to Morse's level. Good in pass sets meh in run sets. Very similiar. Morse was a better pass blocker but as you said, seemed to be hurt a lot. The LDT Hunt had was better than what we have now, and the tackles were certainly playing much better than this year. I do think Hunt benefitted from better blocking but not by a ton. Hunt is a better runner than CEH for sure but CEH will be much better in the pass game, which is why we drafted him. He's still learning but watch out when he gets it down. If Bell is open to mentoring CEH it could really speed up his development in pass pro and routes.
  18. Well Osemele officially to IR. So much for my half-assed theory.
  19. Meh he's a better blocker than our current guards. Feed that man a shit ton of carbs and we might be on to something.
  20. Good thing we don't need to rely on him to beat the snot out of the ravens then. 😎
  21. Final injury report. Ok so buried in this is possibly some good news that I haven't seen any sites talking about. KC has not said anything about Osemele but they also have not put him on IR. He had tears in both knees, which sounds awful but if the tears were small it's possible they could heal on their own without surgery. Surgery would end his season but if it heals on its own he could be back later in the year. I'm guessing this is what is happening and thats why he's not on IR.
