Think about it this way, Andy had access to one of the great RBs in history, who still has some juice, for these playoffs. Yet he trotted out a late round rookie instead. We've also seen him hold up in pass pro this season (albeit in limited snaps). The kid I think is actually better running inside where his contact balance and short area quickness shines. Remember he was a combine snub but his pro day results put him in the top 5 in the explosion events, as well as in the bench. His 40 was around the same mark as Saquon Barkley. Or how about this; he put on about 10 pounds this offseason so now he's 10 pounds heavier than Phillip Lindsay. He's about the same weight as 'in his prime' Jamaal Charles. He's 20 pounds heavier than Tarik Cohen. He's about 5 pounds lighter than Christian McCaffrey. The kid needed a year to get acclimated considering his college level of competition, but actually got more game time this year than I thought he would. You may not see it this year but you will at some point. Now you are correct in that we don't know if he'll hold up at this level as a feature back, but we can say the same for any college running back. It won't be because of his size if he fails though.

With Pat, everything is on the table. One more? Two more? Dynasty? Sure. Will ultimately come down to Veach and what he can put around him. Oline can definitely improve. Same with LBs and the RBs. Hell we got some big challenges this offseason with the CBs.

the production can definitely be replaced. But there's no doubt we'd love to keep him. Playoff Sammy is nails.

i think we can lift the moratorium on naming he who shall not be named now. all the years of pain seem to be fading for some reason. but yeah, the madden curse can now go suck a dick. it tried to get him with that dislocated knee, but it forgot that Pat is not actually human.

Destiny is not a real thing. Neither are curses. Patrick Mahomes is very real though. Winning the Superbowl is the kind of thing that happens when you have the best QB in the game and surround him with talent. We took chances and most of them paid off big time. Hiring Andy coming off a bad season for him, trading for Alex Smith, trading up for Mahomes with a good QB already under contract, ditching our overpaid and fading defensive stars after being in the AFCCG, trading out Dee Ford for Frank Clark and paying him that much, signing Mathieu to a big contact (relatively for a safety), drafting Tyreek, taking a chance on Damien Williams, outbidding other teams for Sammy, hiring Spags, locking in on Mecole in the 2nd round, keeping KPass and Dirty Dan, etc... all of these choices were no sure thing and many were panned by a significant portion of the fanbase. ALL turned out to be good decisions. And yes, we will be back there in the future. Don't know if we'll win them, but i like our chances to get back and win more as long as we stay aggressive in the offseason. This is not an Aaron Rodgers situation with a timid front office that refuses to take chances.
