  1. Catch rate: 81.4% xCatch: 70.4% CROE: +11% When the infographic detailing these rankings is posted, the internet just might burn to the ground. In a league filled with superstars at the receiver position, James is likely among the last players anyone would expect to land atop a receiving ranking. His placement here fits the narrative that the Giants built in 2022, when they exceeded expectations by a significant margin. James was among those who benefitted the most, setting career-high marks in receptions (57), receiving yards (569) and receiving touchdowns (four). Last season was the first in which James reached any of the benchmarks needed to qualify for this list, and it was only the second campaign in which he saw more than 14 targets. So why does James land here? His catch rate over expected was better than that of any other receiver who met the aforementioned criteria. He helped quarterbacks targeting him post a 119.6 passer rating, the third-best mark of any pass catcher on this list. And of his 70 targets, only 13 resulted in incompletions. That's a catch rate befitting a running back snagging swing passes, not a receiver running through a defense. James is not a household name, but that's the beauty of Next Gen Stats -- they help us see beyond the headliners. And with his performance in 2022, James earned a move to Kansas City, where he'll have a golden opportunity to boost his profile to a greater degree.
  2. Richie James https://www.nfl.com/news/next-gen-stats-top-10-pass-catchers-by-croe-of-2022-surprise-at-no-1
  3. KC didn't offer 28 per (which would be 3 mil difference from what he got). It was a much much bigger difference in average value. I doubt we even sniffed 28 per territory in our last offer.
  4. Guess we'll find out if he really wants a ring or the moat money. Would be easy to structure a contract for KC as his limited season last year makes for some super easy NLTBE incentives.
  5. Kelce bros really in favor of Thursday night games and like the flex scheduling. Better rest, easier week, better matchups.
  6. It's not just that it's a spread. Hype-L ran that same offense for us at mizzou. It's gimmicky even for a spread.
  7. Can't really disagree that some of Clark's decisions have not been fan friendly. I mean I get that streaming is the future but make it 1 service and non-exclusive. And this flexing is for the birds. If they really wanted to be fan friendly they could have given NFL ticket ala cart options like youtube wanted.
  8. Mahomes tore his ACL? that's the broken part. I mean some still say Mahomes sucks. Just ask Twitter.
  9. Hooker is old, broken and had his best games in a super gimmicky offense. I'd be surprised if he does much in the NFL.
  10. Detroit: RB and off ball LB are a waste of first round picks. You can't have a great draft while wasting 2 first round picks at the same time you don't have a long term solution at QB. I have no doubt they'll be a tough team. So was Tennessee with Tannehill. They'll go the same way, be good for a while, keep fucking it up at QB, and be also rans. I guess at least they'll be competitive in the shitty NFC. Won't equate to championships so ultimately it will mean nothing.
  11. #1 is don't draft a RB in the first. I don't care if his name is Barry Gibbs or RB Jesus. #2 this is running a team out of a look. I covered that in #3 While I hope Clyde does well if he makes the team I also don't care if we drop him as that means we've found some other effective rushers. Running the football is the least efficient way to play the game. It has low correlation to winning. The only benefits are the ones I mentioned. If you don't have a good QB it does take on greater importance but then again you aren't winning the superbowl so who gives a crap. I hope the Falcons enjoy not winning games cause that was a massive waste of a top 10 pick. Detroit wasted 2 picks on low impact positions. Just dumb.
  12. Yeah that's situational football. See #3.
  13. Can't we all just agree that the lessons are: 1) never draft a RB in the first 2) when you have a QB like Pat the running game is vastly overrated 3) we should not be running except to back teams out of a look or in situational football
  14. I mean I guess you could save a little by cutting him. Ironically you'd have a couple mil cap saving by trading him after June 1. Ironic cause I doubt anyone wants to trade for him. Maybe a player for player swap?
